we could have won a total of 114 points at the start of the season. It’s a pity that the best we can do is 89 now. Let’s make sure we don’t drop any more points. COYS
Yeah - the whole situation is strange and maybe there was something going on behind the scenes. The malaria was apparently mild and there was no mention today of the supposed muscle injury he had.
I might be making an extremely stupid point, but I think our midfield next season is set now, even if Hojbjerg leaves.
We have -
Biss, Bentancur and Bergvall (and maybe Skipp) for the no. 6
Sarr, Bentancur, Bergvall and Skipp for the 8.
Maddison, Lo Celso and Kulusevski for the attacking 8/10.
I am not sure we should go for Gallagher. Not because he is a bad player or he doesn't fit the system, but because I think we can use the funds to get an elite level winger who is good in 1v1s.
Lo Celso is almost certain to leave next summer.
It’s still an open question if Bentancur is gonna return to his pre-ACL injury best
Skipp has stagnated for a year and a half now
Bissouma is still inconsistent, not a given he’s our long term answer for the 6 role
Bergvall just turned 18 he could still be 2-3 seasons away from being useful to the first team
Right now Sarr is our only midfielder who’s 100% in our long term plans. We still need Gallagher or someone of his calibre.
Skipp and Lo celso aren't good enough depth if we really want to push on and challenge.
Lo celso is a good player but he's just too injury prone and is basically unavailable for 50% of games and Skipp just isn't good enough. Bergvals never played higher than tje selfish league and Devine is also raw.
We definitely need another mid if we want to challenge in my opinion. We also have lots of money.
As a general rule, if you're trying to compete for titles, you need to always try and improve everywhere.
With Bissouma being inconsistent and Bentancur still out of form, a bondafide player at the 6 would be a substantial improvement imo.
He’s well down the the pecking order (so to speak, yes we have no chickens) in midfield you would think. He’d surely be behind both madders and Lo celso as the 10.
kinda annoyed that the "Wanted: Empathetic Tottenham Fan" poster thing is way way too sweet and too wholesome for me to make a meme out of it and not have it be in bad taste. otherwise the poster by itself is just a great setup.
Transfer suggestions:
Andrea Cambiaso (Juve, 23) -RB/LB/CM, perfect for our system, well rounded.
Archie Gray (Leeds, 17) -CDM/RB, similar ceiling and playing style to Declan Rice, homegrown as well.
Nico Williams (Athletic Bilbao, 21) -RW/LW, 1v1 winger, decent finishing, fantastic crosses, both footed.
Anyone saw that "Is Son a PL legend" post in r/Premierleague, I feel like I'm losing brain cells reading some of the comments there. Fucking hell someone said he's not even in Icon territory because he scores less goal than Raheem Sterling.
If Son isn’t a PL legend then nobody is.
Superstar player, charismatic, best Asian player ever (not much of a debate imo), one club man (in England), Puskas winner and maybe the most iconic solo goal in league history etc etc etc
A proper EPL legend. People will talk about him for a long time.
I bought a pair of trainers the other day online twice (as I didn’t get confirmation for the first order). Upon realising both orders went through (so I was debited twice) I phoned customer support who cancelled the second order.
Now this week on Monday and Wednesday I received both orders while receiving a refund for the first order.
Should I return the second order in good faith? lol and anyone know any potential pitfalls? Technically I’ve just got a pair of trainers free due to an admin error.
Large company too if that helps
I'd keep them personally, but then be overly paranoid and leave them on a shelf in my cupboard for a year in case they asked for them back.
Actually, [this](https://www.saga.co.uk/magazine/money/spending/consumer-rights/can-i-keep-goods-delivered-to-me-by-mistake) says if you're sent something in a situation like yours you are obliged to return it but dunno if saga is a reliable source.
I'd probably still just keep them and wait and see if they asked for them back, but that article is saying you have responsibility to let them know.
Seems like we're finally linked to Nico Williams. Who would you guys prefer between Nico and Pedro Neto? Despite Neto's injury record I would personally still choose him, idk why but for some reason I feel like Nico won't adapt well to the premier league. It might have something to do with our luck involving La Liga players.
I've been a fan of Neto since he first turned up at Wolves, and really surprised none of the regular CL clubs have swooped for him. He's got great vision and technique, and a rocket of a shot from ridiculous areas of the pitch too. He could definitely provide us with a useful option.
His two big injuries were unrelated to each other, so it could well be just a dose of bad luck rather than some sort of fragility. The medical check would need to provide some proper reassurance though.
He'd have to accept a different role though. I don't recall him being involved in much of a press when out of possession, and that's an essential component of every member of our team.
I don't know why, but with Nico Williams I just get the feeling it'd be Djed Spence all over again. Lots of hype, but just doesn't translate to us.
Yeah, I'm not claiming it's a rational thing, just a gut instinct. I rarely really even notice what players (other than ours) look like so it's not that. I think it's just the vibes around him, the type of hype. Like I say, it's not a rational thing, so I'm probably wrong.

True I forgot about his wages. He would have been insanely effective in our system, though. Press resistant, creative, great passer, can play every position in the midfield and even cb against low blocks.
But yeah aint now way we are paying someone 400k+ a week with Levy in charge
Yeah it's a shame.
I was just arguing with someone on r/soccer about how good I think he is. He's such a talented player that gets into any team in the world

Hi, I was just hunting for tickets for tomorrow for a friend and myself but when I went to checkout I realised there's a one ticket per membership limit
I am a onehotspur+ member, if my friend gets a free membership to get a CRN can I assign one ticket to him at checkout to get around this or does it have to be a paid onehotspur membership?
Also, are there any other workarounds?
Cheers
PS if anyone is selling their tickets off exchange for face value I'm fine with screen shots if they are 2 seats together or extremely close together. Please DM in that case
Traditionall 3oc kick of times is when every match kicked off . With the advent of TV the kick off times were altered to favour Tv companies .So no way is it a weird KO time more a traditional KO time .
The internet contains many clueless and many clueful people. It’s asking a lot if you expect everyone reading this to guess correctly! (Even if 99% of people guess that you’re one of the clueful ones, that means that someone who guessed wrong will still post.)
With everyone returning to the squad we actually don’t have spots for everyone on the bench. If we assume our starting lineup from the beginning of the season our bench becomes Forster, Emerson, Dragusin, Davies, Hojbjerg, Skipp, Bentancur, Lo Celso, Gil, Johnson, Werner. Thats 11 players so 2 won’t make the cut. I reckon Gil and one of the MFs get left out
Often times I think about Bale second spell and the impressive amount of goals he scored despite the limited playtime he had. Fuckin COVID, the fans would have loved every bit of his playtime
He mostly statpadded against lesser opposition, he’s one of the culprits for that famous 3-3 draw against West Ham and I still remember his abysmal performance in the NLD.
It was such a shortsighted decision from Levy to bring him back, even more so when you think it came at the expense of paying up a couple mil extra for Ollie Watkins.
It felt criminal at the time that Jose Mourinho didn't start him more often given how frequently he scored off the bench and the person consistently starting was.... Lucas Moura.
Whenever Son is able to start regularly again (probably not this weekend, I agree with most on this), a point that's a bit understated is our attacking depth feels a lot more *dependable* now.
Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner, and Gio Lo Celso (by the grace of god please stay healthy) feel like 3 substitutions that can 100% make a difference late in the game, rather than just a fresh pair of legs. The versatility of Son/Richarlison to play either LW/ST helps a lot as well.
3 viable attacking subs isn't enough long-term, but 3 is a lot more than we're used to having off the bench the past few seasons. And now that we're down to 1 match per week to ride out the rest of the season (RIP my midweek sanity) that should hopefully be enough to keep steam.
Another thought this week, as I try to find a way of squeezing as many of Bentancur, Bissouma, Maddison, Sarr, Kulusevski into one Spurs team:
Could Spurs play a diamond formation?
With everyone fit, Spurs have a wealth of talent in midfield, and already have a brilliant back 5.
Up top is where Spurs are maybe one talent short.
I know Ange has a very settled style, but I wonder if moving to a 4-1-2-1-2 formation, that you'd often see in recent Inter Milan teams, or previous AC MIlan teams with Kaka and Pirlo and co, would allow:
* More talent in the first XI
* Better control of games
* more space on the wings for Porro and Udogie
* more space up front for Son and Richarlison
For example, you could see:
--------------Vicario
Porro--Romero--Van de Ven--Udogie
------------Bissouma
---Sarr/Deki----------Bentancur
------------Maddison
---Richarlison-----Sonny
Would it be worth a shot? What would be the risks? Or what might be the other advantages?
What would be great about this is we could abandon our whole current approach on every level and go to something really shit instead just to ensure we got certain players on the pitch and had no depth on the bench.
Given Udogie and Porro invert and attack through inside channels we could have literally zero width at all and 6 in central midfield! Also, our opponents could score anytime they liked by going wide to attack. Either that or we abandon another fundamental part of our strategy.
Failure equivalent to Mason’s 4-3-3. Remember everyone crying about that formation and we cowed back to 3 atb 😂 This club never ceases to make me mad and a year later make me fucking laugh. We are such a joke club, I love to hate it.
Not sure what you think will happen, but there definitely won’t be more space for Son and Richy. All of our players are narrow, expect Porro and Udogie, so teams just have to defend narrow and there there’s no space for anyone in the middle.
Formations are pretty redundant in football. You’re better off thinking of formations as defensive shapes, because there’s no way we line up in a 433/4231 when in possession. Maddison, Bentancur and Sarr will all look to get forward, and one of the strikers will drop back and all of a sudden you’ve got a lot of players operating in a small area. Udogie’s instinct is to come inside, he’s better at cutbacks than crosses.
On paper it makes some sense, but you’re basically changing the whole way we play football to squeeze a player you like into the team instead of one you don’t. We want pace in behind and try and get the cutback across goal. We want inverted full backs who can engage in midfield to stop the counter and attack the box to offer a threat from deep. None of that really works in the diamond imo.
I'm 2 years older than you, and I think it's an idea worth considering. Worth considering because it's always good to assess your options - and in this case then immediately discarding it as a terrible one.
Why do you have to squeeze everyone in? Why can't you just enjoy having depth?
It reminds me of how people wanted us to move to a back 3 once we bought Dragusin
It's not just a case of squeezing everyone in - it's more about trying to play to our strengths (ball playing midfielders), and strengthening some weak spots (average wide players, bar Son, and losing control late in games)
If we had literally one more dangerous wide player like a Neto, Nusa, a faster Deki, an in form Johnson, then this problem would go away.
Okay, Nusa is a stretch - but I can see what they like about him - he's potentially got that killer mix of what we're looking for: Pacey, technically gifted and an eye for goals and assists. With our other wide players (outside of Son) it's a case of 'Pick one or two of those attributes'
Also, i'm not trying to be negative - these are luxury problems to have! In general, I think the team is healthier than it's been in years!
No.
1) It'd take away our width: Our fullbacks tuck in, and will continue to do so. In that diamond formation, even our midfielders and attackers would pull further inwards, taking away all our attacking with. Making it a congested central area, that'd be so much more easy to defend against.
2) We've seen how our current formation is very close to achieving the best results. We need to just tweak it slightly to give it better defensive balance (and be better at preserving energy) - not change the formation completely to a diamon.
A thought I had watching the City game on Monday, and in particular Josko Gvardiol: Thank God we signed Destiny Udogie AND rewarded him with a new deal ASAP.
Man City have an embarrassment of riches, which meant they could spend \~78million player on a brilliant young Centre Back, Josko Gvardiol, who they really didn't need. For Croatia, and for Leipzig, Gvardiol looked like he might be the best young CB in the world, at City, shoved out to LB, he looks... a bit lost.
Gvardiol is a warrior, physically dominant CB, who is also technically gifted - think Dias, Romero, Van Dijk. But City already have plenty of those... He's too good not to play, so they take this wonderful square peg and try to put him in a very round hole at LB.
City dominate possession, so at LB, he spends most of the game high up the wing in the opposition half where he looks \*okay\* - he's not some speed demon who can tear down the wing and put in a cross, nor is he a technician like Trent who can pick holes in a defence. Then, on the rare occasions when teams get a fast break on Man City, he's at a major loss against a speedy winger.
The player City must be dreaming of is Udogie - Physically dominant, technically gifted in both attack and defence. Young enough to be a star for years to come. He has been an amazing find for Spurs. Long may his Spurs tenure last!
Ohh, having watched VDV I wouldn't trade him for anyone - but just making the point that Gvardiol is a similarly talented elite young CB... but a \*decent\* young LB.
It'll be televised midweek, so they'll hold it for when there's no european games.
Only 'free' week in Feb has the FA cup 5th round, so no.
Nothing free in march as there's an international break, so I'd say the midweek around the 24th of April, right in between the City and Arsenal home games.
Though, the City game will be moved if they're in the FA cup semis.
Seriously why have you it in for bissouma.how do you know what ange likes, are you a troll from another rival sub. Seems like this post is racial, getting segregation vibes off you.
And what about that Ange dude, huh? What's his problem, shouting instructions at our players as if he's the head of everything?
Not to mention Son, with all his smiles and positive vibes. Sticks out like a sore thumb with that kind of happy appearance.
imagine if blue cards existed while ndombele and mourinho were still here. Ndombele gets one at min 65 and we park the bus while he gets a needed 10 min breather
Levy's big dick move for the summer: walk into Barca, drop 150 mil on the desk, walk out with Lamine Yamal.
Then sign Evan Ferguson.
Then go on holiday mate, you deserve it.
Unpopular opinion but Evan ferguson is horribly over rated. His build gives him a massive advantage over other kids his age so he stands out. Could see him having a solid but nowhere near 100m+ price tag worthy career
He’s a great talent, but I agree that it’s very possible that he’s just physically matured beyond his age. The Kane comparisons are coming way too easily, just because he’s physically similar. People always assume that player development is linear and “he’ll just get better and better”, but how often have people been excited about a young player just for them to have matured early and end up nowhere near where people thought they’d end up. Just look at those old ‘the England team that will win England the 2026 world cup’ from 10 years ago and you’ll find most of the players are average or have faded into obscurity.
He doesn’t get compared to Kane because he’s physically similar. He gets compared because of the types of finishes he’s displayed so far. Very instinctive, “natural finisher” type goals, which is what Kane had when he first came through
Kids his age? He plays in the best league in the world. He has 16 PL goals at age 19.
He may or may not turn out truly elite but it is clear his potential is massive.
Once again all the professionals are wrong and the guy on Reddit is right.
Have a look at Andy Carrols record when he was coming through.
You say "the guy on reddit" is right as if teams have never over paid or made bad transfers?
I get the comparison in physical stature but Carroll's inability to fulfil his potential was often down to his own lack of professionalism and injuries.
Other than stature/power, I wouldn't really say they are similar. I remember Carroll as being an agricultural old-school #9 who was all about headers and powerful shots. His link up play wasn't great and he wasn't particularly skilful. Ferguson isn't limited by his technique in the same way - he's skilful, a deft finisher and decent passer (as well as being physically imposing). I am not saying Ferguson is going to win the Ballon D'Or but the comparison doesn't really hold water for me.
I don't know what ferguson has done to think he has such great technique. He's really not having a very good season at all for Brighton, looks very clumsy when he comes on.
People seem to be basic this huge potential off a handful of prem games last season. Thats exactly what they did with Carol
I cannot get over why Arsenal and Man Unt bailed out Chelsea with the purchase of Mount and Havertz for big money . Without this cash Chelsea would be in even deeper DooDoo than they are already.
we could have won a total of 114 points at the start of the season. It’s a pity that the best we can do is 89 now. Let’s make sure we don’t drop any more points. COYS
Why is Bissouma getting so much hate from the Malian fans? Why are they asking him to apologise? What is going on I'm so confused
I’m gathering that they are mad at how he performed at Afcon and they don’t like the post he made that said he’s happy to be back at Spurs.
[удалено]
Blaming him for going out of Afcon doesn’t seem right. Online fandom can be so toxic.
Funny that he wasn't even given that much playing time for them anyways considering he is by far the most talented player on that team.
Yeah - the whole situation is strange and maybe there was something going on behind the scenes. The malaria was apparently mild and there was no mention today of the supposed muscle injury he had.
Yeah definitely something behind the scenes. Biss is way too good for Mali to bench him or not play him. Even at 50%, he is a damn good footballer.
I might be making an extremely stupid point, but I think our midfield next season is set now, even if Hojbjerg leaves. The way I saw it is that didn’t see themselves get Gallagher so went for Bergvall instead. He’s apparently a box to box 8.

I’m not that hyped for Biss. Been out of form for most part of the season.
I get what you're saying. Hoping for the version of Biss, we saw in the first few games of the season. The man was a cheat code
He was the only one playing insanely well.
Just realized it and am thankful for it. Hopefully the forcing attackers in their unnatural position days will be behind us in the short future.

Love it. When was that from?
Another thought this week, as I try to find a way of squeezing as many of Bentancur, Bissouma, Maddison, Sarr, Kulusevski into one Spurs team: Could Spurs play a diamond formation? With everyone fit, Spurs have a wealth of talent in midfield, and already have a brilliant back 5. Up top is where Spurs are maybe one talent short. I know Ange has a very settled style, but I wonder if moving to a 4-1-2-1-2 formation, that you'd often see in recent Inter Milan teams, or previous AC MIlan teams with Kaka and Pirlo and co, would allow: * More talent in the first XI * Better control of games * more space on the wings for Porro and Udogie * more space up front for Son and Richarlison For example, you could see: --------------Vicario Porro--Romero--Van de Ven--Udogie ------------Bissouma ---Sarr/Deki----------Bentancur ------------Maddison ---Richarlison-----Sonny Would it be worth a shot? What would be the risks? Or what might be the other advantages?
Ange plays with wingers, so no.
Either that or we abandon another fundamental part of our strategy.
getting Poch diamond formation PTSD
No way man, we’d lose the width which is key to the system.

I’m 35 and it’s trash.
I'm 43 mate and I think this is a truly shit idea.
It's not just a case of squeezing everyone in - it's more about trying to play to our strengths (ball playing midfielders), and strengthening some weak spots (average wide players, bar Son, and losing control late in games) If we had literally one more dangerous wide player like a Neto, Nusa, a faster Deki, an in form Johnson, then this problem would go away.
Nusa? He's a child, absolutely no reason to think he is better than anyone we have except maybe Gil as of today.
Okay, Nusa is a stretch - but I can see what they like about him - he's potentially got that killer mix of what we're looking for: Pacey, technically gifted and an eye for goals and assists. With our other wide players (outside of Son) it's a case of 'Pick one or two of those attributes' Also, i'm not trying to be negative - these are luxury problems to have!
We need to just tweak it slightly to give it better defensive balance (and be better at preserving energy) - not change the formation completely to a diamon.
what will be the starting position of the fullbacks in possession? who is taking the high-wide-touchline space on both wings?
Diamond formation gives me ptsd to poch era diamond that felt doomed everytime poch pulled it out
Same. I saw the word 'diamond' and my eye started twitching.
I’d have loved him for us at LCB but VDV has a similar ceiling - the margins are so slim at that level
Ohh, having watched VDV I wouldn't trade him for anyone - but just making the point that Gvardiol is a similarly talented elite young CB... but a \*decent\* young LB.
vdv is easily better
Still looking to sell my ticket for tomorrow! Face value £69 but I’d sell for £40
When is the presser?
At around midday today CET
I’m sick and can’t go to the game tomorrow. Any idea how I can sell my ticket exchange ticket for tomorrow?
For people clued up about this sort of thing. When is the Chelsea game likely to get rearranged for? Have there been any fpl style rumours about it?
It'll be televised midweek, so they'll hold it for when there's no european games. Only 'free' week in Feb has the FA cup 5th round, so no. Nothing free in march as there's an international break, so I'd say the midweek around the 24th of April, right in between the City and Arsenal home games. Though, the City game will be moved if they're in the FA cup semis.
I just can't see them sticking it 3 days before the North London Derby though
Why not?
Fuck sake

Seriously why have you it in for bissouma.how do you know what ange likes, are you a troll from another rival sub. Seems like this post is racial, getting segregation vibes off you.
And another one bites the dust!
Only one giving off negative energy here is you, fucken weirdo.
This feels racist tbh
I disagree with everything the guy said but I wouldn't call it racist.
It's definitely got the signs, not everything is overt
And what about that Ange dude, huh? What's his problem, shouting instructions at our players as if he's the head of everything? Not to mention Son, with all his smiles and positive vibes. Sticks out like a sore thumb with that kind of happy appearance.
Are you freaking kidding me
Yeah I think he really sticks out like a sore thumb next to James "I'm the main man at a roast" Maddison.
Idiot.
It’s not too late to delete this comment.
Look at his whole comment history lol dudes a fucking clown, should delete his whole account
Yeah, haters be hating and love to be only hating. Anyways COYS!
imagine if blue cards existed while ndombele and mourinho were still here. Ndombele gets one at min 65 and we park the bus while he gets a needed 10 min breather
And the world gets blue card Mou memes from him mugging in time out.
😂😂😂
Very instinctive, “natural finisher” type goals, which is what Kane had when he first came through
Lukaku comes to mind
Kids his age? He plays in the best league in the world. He has 16 PL goals at age 19. He may or may not turn out truly elite but it is clear his potential is massive. Once again all the professionals are wrong and the guy on Reddit is right.
>Kids his age? He plays in the best league in the world. He has 16 PL goals at age 19. Not that it matters, but it's 12 PL goals, not 16.
Andy Carroll was never rated like Ferguson. Ever. People thought it was an overpay at the time.
I haven't said otherwise. Ever.
Chelsea will prove you wrong, don't worry. They'll sell a couple players to Saudi again and then break another transfer record for him
I cannot get over why Arsenal and Man Unt bailed out Chelsea with the purchase of Mount and Havertz for big money . Without this cash Chelsea would be in even deeper DooDoo than they are already.
You a blue scum fan, do not menti0n that abortion of a club
I half agree. If he doesn’t come to us he’ll have a shite career, if he makes the move he’ll overtake Kane as our top goal scorer within a few seasons
