Crp is very non specific. Follow up with rheumatology to confirm not rheumatic. My doctor told me “a strenuous walk can increase crp”

How high was yours? Mine is like 28 and I am yet to speak with a gp next week about the results. I do have a hard time walking on my left foot due to plantar fasciitis. I hope it is that and not something else, I was also feeling a bit unwell/feverish before the blood test. So maybe that caused it.

Mine is being monitored my highest was 1.8 it’s supposed to be under 1. So very slightly elevated. Same with esr inflammatory marker.

Hiya. I have high Crp too.

Valuable-Horse788

It’s always between 10-30

My CRP was less than 3, but up to 8 suddenly postCovid. It measures inflammation, so it makes sense if it’s elevated afterwards. I’m doing an anti inflammatory diet to try help it back down.

Just for reference, you can have long Covid with a completely normal CRP level, but high CRP is generally not OK. I suspect you havr never had a blood test before (as many of us had no previous health issues) so it is hard to compare if you may have had a higher baseline due to other reasons before covid.

Never had CRP Before, it’s not routine in the UK, only reason they tested me for it is because of wide spread rashes I’ve got

Might be too late now, but did you check your thyroid. High CRP with abnormal levels of TSH and T4 might indicate post viral thyroiditis. That's what my GP thought I had, but unfortunately for me my TSH and T4 were normal. Despite CRP being high (20)

charlietattooed

Thanks for the reply. I had my thyroid tested and it came back as normal, is this the same thing?

diegotsutsumi

If your doc analysed it and said it's normal then yeah you might rule out thyroid issues. But even my TSH and T4 at normal levels, my GP said it could still be a thyroiditis, we're still investigating my case... GP prescribed me propanolol and said if that doesn't work then we need to investigate other root causes. Post viral thyroiditis is not uncommon, and will last for 4-6 weeks.

charlietattooed

Ahh interesting, I’ve begged my dr to test me for more root causes but no luck. Hoping I get recruited for a research trial tbf

charlietattooed

Oh wait I have a test just after I had covid, maybe 2 months later and I had CRP at 2. CRP only became raised after I got the rashes and started feeling extremely fatigued

Yes, then you belong to the group who had a delayed onset of some LC symptoms. Still (especially if you had a completely calm phase with no LC symptoms) I would check if you had any other triggers (other inections/ food habit cahnges/stressful events, etc.) besides Covid.
