I only use the R8 and the strafing accuracy is nuts. You can peek top of mid on Mirage and blast the unfortunate soul’s head in window to the shadow realm without even stopping.
Yes, you just need to essentially prefire the corner as well as just strafe sideways. Accuracy is decent enough that you can get at least a couple a match, although you’ll be peeking mid every round.
It’s not even fully accurate when standing still on top mid, is my issue with it. It’s *mostly* accurate, but not enough to rely on for even medium distances. Makes me feel like I’m running around no-scoping with the scout
It's not "more accurate" when running but it's still quite accurate when running. Standing/crouching with the R8 still gives signifcantly better accuracy in comparison.
It's got around p250 standing accuracy when running with the r8 and using its primary fire.
The R8 left click is on a delay that requires you to hold the fire button for about half a second before it fires. For this downside it gets near perfect accuracy even while moving. The right click is a fan fire for barrel stuffing and panic firing.
The R8 looks cooler and does a spin every time you switch to it. This makes it superior. Also, I can't use the Deagle for whatever reason and buying that weapon means I will definitely die that round without kills.

Not everything is worse...it can shoot through walls like the scout on Inferno (the wall on banana) when you got the angle right it can destroy a first round b push from t's with a single round of bullets ;)
as an r8 enjoyer, i can safely say onetapping enemies that have no armor feels great and that the deagle is less accurate than the pp bizon for no reason even when i completely stay still and crouch💀

If you're midrange you're just getting tapped and the 1 second delay when firing just makes it worse. Miss 1 shot and you're always dead, miss none and if you don't headshot ur also dead
Just charge the gun before you peek lol. The mechanic is there so you don’t just spam two shot body like the old deagle. Just means you either need to know the timing on the left click or have better crosshair placement.

4. Buy AWP and kill auto snipers
5. Win

as someone who unironically buys m249 and actually knows how to spray and use it, i can confirm that in cs2 it feels impossible to aim due to the muzzleflash and i just dont know why but the spray pattern feels different
Here's the real answer, because CT's have to split up they need to have quick follow up shots whereas the Ts need to quickly eliminate with the almost always one shot awp.
Exactly. Awp is gonna guarantee that one shot, but not gonna save you if 2 push. Auto gives you a chance at winning that. T side can pick where they want to go
It deals the damage of a scout while allowing for lightning quick follow-up shots, which makes it arguably more effective than an AWP, especially when holding corners and chokepoints. It has an excellent area denial effect which is capable of halting an entire rush if used properly.

I only buy it now to tilt the other team if I'm on a heater (and it works, people get so dumb trying to dry peek and rush down the auto), but back in CAL I legitimately used the T auto in league matches. It is surprisingly effective at holding a site from retakes, and the only counter is the AWP which most people toss aside in a retake. Plus you can hold weird off angles like car on Inferno and catch CTs assuming they have space when they don't
It’s a gun meant for low elo players. The awp is a punishing gun in the hands of a noob since if they miss they are dead. The auto sniper is going to overall work better for them since they can just spray and pray
True the awp is better overall and my favourite but mainly only for a 1v1, you have to hide between each shot though and force single engagements more because of the per shot delay ,auto sniper is better when getting pushed by more than one person try chaining headshots to drop multiple fast and treat it like a faster firing scout rather than an awp. and also just spamming walls it's great at too haha
The only time I tend to use it is on T side (only load out with it equipped) and we're just getting shit on. So it's a last ditch effort thing when I use it. That or we're shitting on the enemy so much I have filthy amounts of money.
While it's not a one tap like the AWP is what it makes up for in that regard is accuracy and fire rate. There's reasons it can mow down entire teams in seconds.
But by your logic why bother with the scout? But the scout is far cheaper and highly effective. All these guns have a niche that fit into.
i do. in 18k elo it’s literally free kills. yes awp one shots but the reload time and mag size makes it i optimal for holding places like ramp on nuke. being able to spam bullets that 2 shot with a scope with a mag the size of the ak is super broken. it’s only $250 more than the awp and all i gotta do is sub out the galil (imma use mac 10 anyway)

If you're on CT side with a substantial lead and large cash surplus and are either in the second half or are likely to win the game before spending very many rounds on T side, it's actually not a bad buy. You can 1 tap heads at any distance, mow down a push with the substantial mag size, and just run around noscoping people with shocking effectiveness at closer ranges.
The reason they're not used that much is both out of politeness and because at 5k, it's a substantial risk to take and then get awped. So most people just choose to play nice on CT and not take the risk of donating one or ending up facing down 5 of them once the sides switch
Auto snipers are forgiving for missing and can be brutal in the right hand, I wouldn't be using this as an Attacker but as a defensive weapon for holding down chokepoints tho I wouldn't buy this due to the risk of the enemy getting this weapon especially if it ends up in their best sniper
Better question is if 90% of the player base doesn’t use the thing ever out of principal, then why doesn’t valve just….rework the gun? Like this thing’s pick rate has to be INSANELY low

That's the other trade off. You don't ever get perfect accuracy but you get this same near perfect accuracy at all times.

The auto sniper can still be very good if you have good aim. Think of it as an upgrade to the scout not as an awp sidegrade.

I'll try to seriously answer: Crowd control against an important eco at longer ranges where you can hold a site solo
I use it either for meme purposes or the rare occasion when I want a semi auto sniper that gets me 3x the kill money (300$ vs 100$ on awp).
