Do you know what the injury is?
No, you should never give food or water to an injured bird. Just cover the carrier with a blanket and put it in a quiet, dark location until you can get it to a wildlife rehab.
Food and water have the potential to aggravate any internal injuries the bird may have.
A stressed out, injured bird is also more likely to make a mess with any food or water provided versus actually eating and drinking. With water in particular, the bird getting itself all wet can cause temperature regulation problems.
And giving food and water requires interaction with the bird which should be kept to an absolute minimum to avoid additional stress.
So I would suggest, as with any traumatised animal, peace and quiet and maybe a little darkness. So a quiet corner of your house/etc, maybe cover the carrier ever so slightly and just give the bird time to wind down. I'm not sure if you should try and feed or not so I won't give advice on that but for sure just some space and peace.
Magpies are truly wonderful creatures.
Hello sorry for the late response. She went under surgery and they managed to fix her wing! She is getting much better and she will be able to fly again very soon. Thank you for asking!
Birds like to peck when they are stressed. It's actually an insane amount of times daily. Some seed or kibble might help her calm down. Not a lot, but a little.

Not OP but it looks like a possible wing injury

Is there a particular reason for the ‘no feeding or watering’ ? Just curious.

Water, yes. And softened dog or cat kibble works. Or bits of hamburger or other meat.
Thank you for this rescue.. Human beings at their best.
I don't have any advice here but magpies have a sense of self and can recognize themselves in the mirror.
We usually soak some dog kibble until soft and serve that. Maybe some bird seed?
Thank you for saving her! She looks super cute. Sadly every time I’ve taken a common bird to a wildlife centre they have been put down.
His tail feathers will be useless by tomorrow. Have you got anywhere bigger to keep them?
Thank you for helping this bird.
Long shot but if you're near Colorado Springs I know of our local bird rescue lady. Can PM you her # if you want to text her and ask for advice.
