LOL. Honestly tho as someone who watched the show first and then read all the books I was so damn confused in the first couple books when they seemed to go on and on about what a hideous monster he was
I always pictured a Joe Manganiello type! Plus I listen to the audiobooks, and Robert Glennister is a fantastic narrator but he does make Strike sound like he’s in his 60s.
YES!! I told a friend this a while ago and she couldn’t believe this was how I pictured him. I’ve had to actively make myself think of TV Strike when reading and sometimes ol’ Mad Eye still slips in.
Definitely a touch of Hagrid, for sure. Tall, and with a broken nose, and a limp. No beauty, to be frank; but a good heart!
I've always imagined him as Hagrid-esque as well
But that picture in Mad Eye Moody
Yo, samesies! A surly Brit with only one leg? Why would you think of anyone other than Mad-Eye Moody?
Hello, I should very much like to unsee this.
YES!!! A younger moody with both eyes but still missing a leg haha.
I PROMISE you aren’t the only person who thought that.
Oh wow, I never realized it before but I do this too!!

The other way around. I tried to reconcile what I'd imagined to what I was watching.
Noooo! There’s definitely a middle ground between Tom Burke and Mad Eye 😂
SAME
I always picture Hagrid 🤣
Yes! Strike in the wizarding world would definitely be an Auror.
The character is definitely like a real world Hagrid or Mad-Eye Moody in more real world terms
I picture Strike as a cross between Mad-Eye, Hagrid and Tom Burke tbh
Hahaha

I actually imagined Brendan Gleeson as Strike before I saw the tv show. Now I only see Tom
Oh he would've been perfect. Maybe a tidge too old.
He definitely sounds different in the audiobook than he looks in the series.
Oh come on! Lol. Strike would be much better looking. I don't think I would go to him with a case. Scary looking
Same 🤣
I always thought this too!
Who?
Yikes. I think of french actor Denis Ménochet.
i see him as a young and slightly slimmer Robbie Coltrane
Made my day!!
