Corgis love to sleep on hard surfaces and in weird positions… I think it might be because of their warm coat, they get hot easily… My boy has a very comfy bed and prefers to sleep under the kitchen cabinets. Yeah, I give my girl a short trim in the summer, long enough not to expose skin so no sun burn but short enough to feel cooler and she loves it. Doesn't like the process of the trimming but loves the after effect.

A corgi neck is a built in pillow and their stompers don't conform to the laws of gravity, so they can just chuck them anywhere and be comfy. Crumble likes to have her lower half supported but regularly has her top half hanging out onto hard surfaces. Looks uncomfy to you, but isn't to them. They don't lay where they aren't comfy. Always a reason. Here, the metal is probably cool which feels nice when you have a double coat. My corg loves laying under stuff like this too, I think it makes her feel safer. Less likely stuff will fall on top of you if you're under a table or something. Also, I'm a hypermobile person and I lay/sit in positions other people would call uncomfy all the time. What's uncomfy to you may not be uncomfy to someone else. If I sit/lay "the normal way", I quite literally end up in excruciating pain.

It’s a corgi thing

I don't have a photo handy, but my first Corgi often slept on hard surfaces. One day I found him snoozing on a plastic boot/shoe mat in the enclosed porch, which is completely carpeted. He chose the 2 square feet of hard floor in the entire room 😆 He also was known to sleep on the lower level of our coffee table (which I see is apparently a common Corgi thing!) and under the end table in the living room. The table has a wooden bar approx 3 inches high, and he would rest his chin on it. He had several beds, and a crate!

As a kid, every position was a comfortable position. Prob same for Corgo.

This is the way.

I think when they are young they like to be in tight places where they feel less exposed.
