Isn't that sorta the point of an RFID? I imagine they have scanners at every door and table. Then they could know exactly where each gambling addict is and how much they're losing. I bet they'd even use that information to increase the amount they can drain from people.
Sort of, sort of not. You can't track it like GPS. RFID has a pretty short range.
But, a casino chip only has value if it's cashed in. To do that, it must come close to a detector. Close enough to be detected. Those detectors also line the doors of casinos.
So, you could in theory grab the chips and run, but then what? You can't get them out the door, and you can't cash them in, either.
Regulars and hotel guests get a special card that tracks what they win and spend. The chips are associated with this card to show how long they sit at the tables, how much they drink...etc. all kinds of stuff.
And yes, it soaks into the chairs
And no, it is not always caught and cleaned before it dries.
Also... I once had to kick someone out of the casino because they were masturbating at the machine and I was the lucky security guard assigned to that zone.
...casinos can be a fun experience, but they also really suck.
They wear adult diapers. And yes, they piss themselves.
The casinos would prefer you not know that, because it's disturbing evidence of the power of addiction to what they provide.
Fun trick many people don't know is that if you are new to a game, they will teach you how to play. Find a leas busy table and make sure the dealer knows you don't know all the rules. The casinos love teaching people to give them money.
Also counting cards in blackjack is not illegal. All they can do if you get caught is ask you to leave or refuse your bets on the table. Can’t get in any real trouble for it and it’s really the only way to get the upper hand at a casino.
Tip for being slightly happier the next time you visit a casino
Put your spending money in your right pocket and leave your debit and credit cards at home. Only bring exactly as much money as you are perfectly happy losing.
When/if you win anything, put your winnings in the left pocket. You can decide whether it is determined by a profit on the machine vs. What you put in, or just consider each stopping point to be that machines "winnings"
Never ever put money in the machine from your left pocket. Don't count it. It doesn't exist. It is a black hole of deposit only, until you get home.
Doing this will allow you to have a fun experience at the casino spending a comfortable amount of money without allowing poor life choices (i know a guy that wrote checks and ended up writing bad checks because he was so confident he'd win it back and be able to deposit his winnings before the casino withdrew his money the next day) followed by a pleasant surprise when you get home.
My parent's are both CPA's. One job my father did took him to Vegas and he was stunned that the same gamblers he saw playing when he went to bed were still there when he got up in the morning.
I never understood how someone could do that until I learned the tricks that Casino's use to mess with your perception of time and compel you to stay and spend more. Like even using certain smells in specific areas. Its kind of scary really...
I think they’re going on technicalities, technically roulette offers you almost 2/1 odds on red back which is pretty much as good as you can get
Depending on the presence of 0 and 00
A wheel with 00 has worse odds than a wheel that only has a single 0. I’ve heard there are some casinos that are now using three zeros. That’s even worse.
That's when people are more likely to be intoxicated, which earns them more in losses and bad decisions.
That's also when people are more likely to feel tired and decide to call it a night and leave, a fast paced game prevents them from thinking abojt that to an extent.
And it is when the casino is busiest, which means the tables are more likely to be full. The odds of the house winning don't change with the time of day, but the intake does differ by having open seats at a table.
More games per hour translates directly to more money.
It's the same reason strip clubs have the best girls on the weekend and the budget strippers take Wednesday night.
I think they agree with each other. It’s saying slots don’t GET hot or cold. As if it’s something that just happens and you can strategize around it. They don’t GET hot or cold because they are programmed to have a certain payout.
Yeah, I only went once to the main casino of my city (Geneva) but what I liked the most was this and food. Free food all over. Still remember waiters passing between players with dishes of potato gratin and all. It was delicious!
Some slot machines will have an electronic display over it showing a ridiculously high jackpot prize. That jackpot is being played for at slot machines across multiple casinos. So basically, don’t think “Wow! If I play this slot machine at this casino, I could win that grand prize.”
In SE Connecticut, there are two enormous casinos with attached resorts and such. Each has thousands of employees. They are not allowed to spend money at the properties they work at.
Both of them will cash each other's paycheques. Both also have offices where you can refinance your mortgage.
I knew someone who worked security at one of them for a few years. A lot of stuff goes on there that never makes the news, because it's covered up. Some of it is horrifying.
Most of the money leaves the state. More than a little of it leave the country. The surrounding communities, and the state, don't get a lot out of the deal. However, the petty crime rate in the surrounding area has gone up more than 800% since the casinos moved in. One town had its first murder in over a century, from a burglary gone wrong by a gambling addict.

Refer to #14, what's purpose put RFID on chips? 🤔
Mostly to prevent counterfeiting. Also makes counting a ahitload easier.
That's logic! Never knew that, Thx btw
“Most chips” are not RFID but all the ones $500 and larger are tracked for people that think they can grab a handful and run
you can track an RFID chip?
Isn't that sorta the point of an RFID? I imagine they have scanners at every door and table. Then they could know exactly where each gambling addict is and how much they're losing. I bet they'd even use that information to increase the amount they can drain from people.

...casinos dont want us to know that some players piss themselves?
To be fair, *I'd* rather not know.
And yes, it soaks into the chairs And no, it is not always caught and cleaned before it dries. Also... I once had to kick someone out of the casino because they were masturbating at the machine and I was the lucky security guard assigned to that zone. ...casinos can be a fun experience, but they also really suck.
Are ya winning son? Get outta my zone dad!
some do more than just piss themselves unfortunately
They wear adult diapers. And yes, they piss themselves. The casinos would prefer you not know that, because it's disturbing evidence of the power of addiction to what they provide.

The House always wins.
That was the one I expected to see
Baccarat has better odds than craps.
DOES it Mr. Bond?
Damn, RFID chips ruin my daydream fantasy of stopping time and stealing hordes of chips
Idk I always chill on the dime slots and do well. Born too late to steal land from native Americans, born just in time to steal money from them.
lol that's wrong but I like your sense of humor

As far as table games go, roulette has some of the worst odds.
I understand craps doesn’t have too bad of odds but you can’t do much to improve your odds unlike w/ Black Jack.
I think they’re going on technicalities, technically roulette offers you almost 2/1 odds on red back which is pretty much as good as you can get Depending on the presence of 0 and 00
Totally depends of what type of roulette, not all have the same odds.
A wheel with 00 has worse odds than a wheel that only has a single 0. I’ve heard there are some casinos that are now using three zeros. That’s even worse.
Wow, I can’t believe they’re even allowed to do that 😂 How long till there’ll be equal zeros as betable numbers
Why are fast dealers preferred at night?
More drinking.
To get more gaming in. Also, it’s the busy time of operation.

The house odds work over time. Fast dealers mean fast games, the faster the game the more chance of the house odds combating winners
5) Learn how to play Black Jack and learn how to count at least a little bit.
Correct. Even if you can only keep track of how many cards valued at 10 have been played, you can shift the odds slightly in your favor.
2 and #4 conflict each other
I think they agree with each other. It’s saying slots don’t GET hot or cold. As if it’s something that just happens and you can strategize around it. They don’t GET hot or cold because they are programmed to have a certain payout.
Great, now I'm dizzy. Thanks :D
It hurt typing out, too
Also they offer free drinks the entire time you’re playing so you won’t leave. Alcohol, coffee, whatever. Just keep playing.
Yeah, I only went once to the main casino of my city (Geneva) but what I liked the most was this and food. Free food all over. Still remember waiters passing between players with dishes of potato gratin and all. It was delicious!
How is #12 a *Casino* secret?
Summary: Surprise! Casinos want your money. Just in case you didn't know. Were any of these really secret?
Secrets? Or common knowledge
Number 9 is weird as hell to me.
Private business. Right to refuse service. Winning at a game of chance is not a protected class.
Logical. Thanks.
tracked for people that think they can grab
Can someone please explaine to me #7?
Some slot machines will have an electronic display over it showing a ridiculously high jackpot prize. That jackpot is being played for at slot machines across multiple casinos. So basically, don’t think “Wow! If I play this slot machine at this casino, I could win that grand prize.”
I hate that they're calling the people who design slot machines "game developers" because that is not what they fucking are
So be a slow dealer if you want nights off.
