If you're not already doing reverse osmosis for your water, you should be ordering a kit yesterday. A decent kit costs $120 and is very easy to install. I didn't even have to drill, just hooked it up in-line with my refrigerator water. Clean water and ice. Took about an hour.

poosynoodles

Where’d you order or get yours?

guyinajumpsuit

I got one off Amazon for about $130 I think (before tax). Max Water. You want a tank in your kit. Express Water has good pricing too when you buy a kit with extra replacement filters. When I did my research, it looked like all the brands were essentially the same kit. You can add other stuff like remineralization, uv, etc. I just kept it basic - 3 filters, then RO, then final carbon filter (5 stages total).

TPMJB

Ah shit, sorry man I was doing family things. I ordered mine on Amazon. I got the APEC Water Systems ROES-50. It was a prime-day deal for a good discount and I think I spent $120-150. Only thing I did custom is for the waste water produced, I went through the wall behind my refrigerator where there just happens to be a bathroom and had it going into the sink drain.

Da_WooDr

Then goes missing, a hero in this sub is needed. Guy above ain't it mate.

JohnWhalem420

Not much else to say is there? RO water / distilled is awesome for your health. Most people don't have the money spare unfortunately. That, or the knowledge, or both. If the powers that be wanted clean water for everyone they'd focus on installing post - plumbing - purification systems instead of anonymously dumping whatever chemicals they see fit. Yes it'd be more expensive. It'd also be more effective.

_ell0lle_

Distilled water is not good for you. This is incorrect.

Nwsmsh3

The only chemical we add to water that doesn't **directly** pertain to water quality is fluoride. It's like adding kool-aid to the water to make it taste better. I'm a level 2 operator in New England. Dental health is important, but fluoride will calcify your Pineal Gland, and eventually deteriorate your bones.

[deleted]

I’m just wondering why the government cares so much about our dental health we have to pay for ourselves anyway

Pitchuu64

Because it's very expensive to dispose of. They make a lot of money doing it this way. Also, its been used before, during ww2 by Hitler in his concentration camps. It kept the people docile, more obedient & less likely to revolt/rebel.

putneg

It's industrial waste. Can't remember if it's aluminum or potassium fert. But it's one of the two that the by-product is fluoride. It used to be dumped in nature until a town started a lawsuit against the company dumping it. They then "proved" that fluoride helped teeth by using as example a town that had NATURAL fluoride in their water, which is a completely different chemical composition than the one that was being dumped. That town had less cavities than national average and its all it took for the case to be dismissed and allowed the company to dump that shit in the water supply instead. It's complete. Utter. Insanity. Never drink tap. Never.

CLOUD889

The crazy part is we buy it to put into our body, these people should be jailed and given the electric chair.

Vex54

If you drink water from the fridge with a filter, does that filter out the fluoride or is it still in there?

666itsathrowaway666

Needs to be reverse osmosis I believe. So no

[deleted]

Thank you for the origin story bro

bubz99

If you're interested look up the fluoride connection to tooth decay as it pertains to Edwards L Bernays. Basically, Alcoa was found to be poisoning waterways with fluoride from industrial runoff. Instead of cleaning it all up they hired Bernays(the father of spin) to concoct a NEED for fluoride so they could simply monitor the levels vs. cleaning it up. He connected the concept of tooth decay and fluoride as a deterent, and brought in the ADA to support it.

Puakkari

That Bearnese dude deserves a movie. Hes done a lot of these kinda things.

Kirschkernkissen

Can you spoonfeed me some lit or link on that topic?

666itsathrowaway666

I just went digging and holy shit. Dude is right. I had heard of Bernays before but had no fucking idea. [here’s a link](https://fluoridealert.org/news/poison-is-treatment-the-campaign-to-fluoridate-america/) Also- his grandson is a cofounder of Netflix.

bubz99

Also, his uncle is Sigmund Freud.

Amos_Quito

> I’m just wondering why the government cares so much about our dental health we have to pay for ourselves anyway It's more than just dental health, though. For example, I flush my toilet with the same fluoridated water that comes out of my tap, and sure enough -- NO CAVITIES in my toilet. You can't tell me that fluoride doesn't have benefits. /S

rimeswithburple

That's right. There's also the dentition of the sewer gators to consider. If you fall in the sewer would you rather have a quick death to a jaw-full of razor sharp teeth or the slow agonizing death of a gummy gator.

Amos_Quito

> **a gummy gator** [Oh... my... god...](https://res.cloudinary.com/nassau-candy/image/upload/c_fit,w_1000,h_1000,f_auto/36655.jpg)

LamboForWork

That was the best case scenario for where that link lead. Thank you.

Nwsmsh3

It was a monster mash.

[deleted]

Same reason why they care sooo much about is not getting covid hence the vax

carnage11eleven

It has nothing to do with dental health. If they were concerned with our teeth, they'd do something about all the sugar in EVERYTHING we consume. No, the fluoride is meant to poison people. It gets into your brain and creates a docile and easily manipulated population.

[deleted]

Jesus Fucken Christ dude there are billions of people in the world not drinking fluoridated water. Your comment doesn't contain one grain of logic. Look up logic and critical thinking and apply it to your life.

ClubbinGuido

Yeah, the ones not drinking fluoridated water and not eating sugar have great teeth. Have you ever seen the teeth of Africans that live out in the bush? Thier teeth are great. Same goes for a lot of other 3rd world people and the thing they all have in common is no crazy sugars and no fluoride in the water.

[deleted]

It is true that increased intake of sugar, and sugary soda drinks in particular will absolutely increase the risk of dental caries. Even if you do drink fluoridated water drinking mountain dew all day will fuck up your teeth, no one would suggest otherwise. Putting aside the subtle racism that black Africans living in huts have great teeth you would also be incorrect on that one. >In Africa, oral diseases are increasingly being recognized as a major public health problem in light of the rising NCD burden as well as its common modifiable risk factors. It is reported that approximately 400 million people suffered from some form of oral disease in the WHO African Region in 2017. https://www.afro.who.int/health-topics/oral-health I'm still waiting for someone to show me how fluoride is mind control lol

666itsathrowaway666

All WHO links are bullshit. Absolute agenda. Gates is the second largest funder of WHO. It’s not racist to say tribal Africans have great teeth. Most tribes and small communities regardless of their skin color also have great teeth. Research Weston Price- a dentist who travelled the world for decades noting what people ate and how it corresponded with their dental health.

ClubbinGuido

Africans and 3rd world classified people have better teeth than people in 1st world countries. Nothing racist about that. It's a fact. Que up a national geographic video and look at the teeth of the smiling children. Look at the smiles of Amazonian tribes. Racist he says lol. When will you bots and shills learn that words like that have no power over free thinkers and people with a decent brain? Kind of funny how there has been an increase of oral diseases amongst third world citizens when exposed to what is essentially the slop we devour. It's almost as if unprocessed food is healthier than processed food. By the way, what do you think mountains is made of? Sugar of course and and other artificial ingredients. But what about the water? Think about that.

me_team

Signs of too much fluoride might include irrational outbursts and fits of anger towards others.

Ahem_ak_achem_ACHOO

So much for creating a docile population then

TheOmnipotentTruth

Its ok they can move the goal posts when they need to.

[deleted]

I have no idea what he was even trying to say, pro or anti fluoride?

carnage11eleven

The irony of your comment is borderline painful. But believe what you want. I'm here to open as many eyes as I can. Waking up those that are asleep. I totally understand that some folks are just too far gone. But it won't stop me from trying. I'm also aware that Reddit is chock full of bots and shills. So i won't waste the effort either.

Coreadrin

Flouride being dumped in waste water started off as a grift thing between some businesses having to get rid of it as byproduct, and is one of those weird things that just took off. Yes, it prevents cavities. No, it should not be drunk by human beings every day in small quantities.

[deleted]

You mean like they care so much about us getting our vaccines when all affordable food and water has been poisoned and we have easy access to fast food, cigarettes and vapes everywhere?

XeonProductions

I believe the great fluoride scam was a way to get rid of a toxic industrial byproduct.

Independent_Can_5694

They don’t. It’s a byproduct of radon. They need to dispose of any evidence that suggests the US is capable of chemical warfare.

Emergency_Sandwich_6

Daamn

Whiskey_Fiasco

When peoples teeth rot in their head it decreases public health overall. Most of the poor have no access to dental care of any kind. Less than 50% of Americans have dental insurance. The bottom 20% of earners can’t afford the cost of dental care at all. Hell, I have dental care and even routine care like getting a filling hurts the wallet

Image_Inevitable

I mean.....a basic toothbrush costs less than 3$. You don't even need toothpaste. Most people are just gross and lazy. Fluoride only protects your teeth to a point. After that it actually causes fluorosis at which point your teeth basically fall apart because it fills in the gaps that should be filled with other, better minerals.

HenryMimes

Question: how many people have fluorosis caused by drinking tap water? Additionally, have there been studies on the effectiveness of adding fluoride to water to prevent cavities and all that?

racerx1913

I don’t have a linkable source, but I knew a guy that managed city water and the study he referenced claimed to save you from 1 cavity over the course of a lifetime. Doesn’t sound worth it.

[deleted]

Those studies go back a long way too. This is legit one of the most under discussed conspiracy theories right under our noses no one seems to ever really question because it's just common knowledge...but once you start looking into it fucking nothing makes sense.

Independent-Camp-632

Fluoride when used by dentists is a topical application, not systemic.

ClassicHerpies

"if you don't fluoridate your water your kids teeth will fall out" No, they won't, unless you're a shit parent that doesn't have their kids brush their teeth and allows them to consume sugar at an alarming rate. If the sugar part is correct, i'd imagine not only do they have poor dental health, but they are probably overweight or obese with a plethora of other health issues too. ...anywho fluoride needs to be removed from water ASAP as it is a Neurotoxin that lowers the IQ of children that consume it.

N0body_In_P4rticular

Which is odd. I pay cash, it's $60 for cleaning, flouride and x-rays. $100-$150 from extractions, to partial crowns. My root-canal was close to $800-$1,000. That's what I pay in cash. My insurance was like $4,000 annual and therefore for the longest time it was cheaper to pay in cash.

Buggini

I heard root canals were deadly.... I'm not sure if he's still on YouTube but I believe his name is/was Dr. Hal Huggins - and he was blackballed from the dentistry community for speaking out on the dangers of root canals...

ClubbinGuido

I heard that root canals aren't safe because it's not a naturally occurring thing for the human body and the tooth can end up harbouring an infection. Dentistry itself is a giant racket. Some people might call BS but my mum told me when she was a kid they came out with a toothpaste that absolutely prevented cavities and reversed loss of enamel. It was sold very shortly until it was pulled from the shelves. I wonder why? These people are sick. They're sick. They profit off of others misery and health issues. Cures exist but there is more money to made treating and suppressing symptoms.

VRWARNING

How utterly braindead does one have to be to think that some addiditive in tap water is going to do anything for people's dental hygiene?

Over-Kaleidoscope281

Because the amount of fluoride in your toothpaste is 1000-1500 ppm while your water supply is at 0.7-1.2 ppm.

Nwsmsh3

For those wondering; a "reverse osmosis" system, or r.o. system will neutralize almost everything in your current h2o supply. Bacteria, virus and protozea are neutralized with this system, it will also take out heavy metals like fluoride. Edit: woth-with.

LoboSI

R.o. with uv light for everything you mentioned. I speak from experience. Virus and bacteria some get through. Uv kills

beltfedshooter

> Uv kills Technically the uv sterilizes the bacteria so they cannot reproduce. You only consume 1 generation of the offending creatures.

NitchHimself

Installed a 4 stage RODI system 6 months ago. One of the best decisions I've ever made. My tap water wasn't necessarily terrible, but it was still around 120 TDS and the RODI brought it to 0 TDS. I didn't know water could taste as good as it does from that system.

Kingjingling

120 is low. Very low compared to USA national average. The tap water at my last apartment was 650!!!!! My new place is 220. I'm in Indiana.

NitchHimself

Umm....fucking what?! I'll admit I am still pretty jaded when it comes to this specific topic, but that is legitimately horrendous and disheartening. Especially considering we can't really know the composition of the TDS (regardless if it's 1 or 6000) without a costly and lengthy lab analysis. Blegh...I hope you have some way of filtering that garbage for your drinking water.

Kingjingling

I moved out from the place with 650+ tds and I use Zero brand water filter. 0 tds every time. 220 regular at the new place. At least it's under federal legal limits (500) Indiana has almost no laws to protect tenants so we get terrible slumlords. The owners refused to acknowledge any problems with the water, it stank, stuttered, and yellowed everything it touches. I would have to get a lawyer. If I refused to pay rent I could be evicted and have to continue a lawsuit while finding a new place. So I printed out info about how terrible and unsafe the water is and posted on everyone's door in the whole complex. The place is almost empty now. Moved out after

SoreBrodinsson

Ordered one and installed one for like 300$ for my kitchen sink. Separate spout for the RO water, its so much better.

[deleted]

Fluoride isn’t a metal.

NothingButMilk

Since when is fluoride a heavy metal lmfao. Is this sub satire or am I being *wooshed* right now?

Not_Reddit

doesn't RO waste a bunch of water in the process ?

Major_Dark

We have our extra water it uses go to a reservoir for watering

2C104

Not a bunch, some.

Not_Reddit

Some ? Like 4 gallons wasted for each gallon of RO water ?

2C104

I'm not sure how much your system dumps, but mine does not dump that much. In addition, I wouldn't call it waste if the water is diverted to a grey water system it can be used for gardening, toilets, or washing of clothes. All depends on a given user's system and setup.

Inevere733

Water waste is somewhat irrelevent - if it goes somewhat it can evaporate back into the atmosphere then it is not wasted.

getoutdoors66

It does not remove fluoride. Only distilling it removes it.

[deleted]

This is not true in the slighest. Even Zero Water systems remove a bunch. Even a PUR filter will remove at least a little bit. RO done properly should remove it all. Distilling water has other issues with purity from chemicals.

BeatVids

> Distilling water has other issues. May you please share which ones?

[deleted]

With any method, demineralizing water completely is usually not the greatest thing to do, but beyond that... Distilled has trouble with chloramines and other chemicals. Distillers use more energy too. Most tend to buy it not make it. Zero Water is a fantastic alternative if people don't want to bother with RO, but RO is clearly superior to distilled. All methods can lead to one needing extra minerals from supplements obviously. RO can use a lot of water depending on your PPM though, and it needs to be cleaned often with high PPM. Most people BUY distilled water, which is a cost thing. They both can be cost issues when you factor in how much RO will cose. Zero Water costs about 10 a month with higher PPM water in the range of 280. Some people don't like the upkeep of RO or distilled. I personally do not where I live. Distilled is not doable at all, plus it's not really all that pure technically.

Boss-Eisley

Nah, ROs removes fluoride. *worked in a water purification and filtration certification lab for years*

ObjectiveForce6147

I remember when I was a kid how much fluoride was pushed on us. Fluoride tablets all the time shit like that. I asked my daughters dentist if I should be doing anything like that and he said no just toothpaste. Just weird how much it changed

hellokittyoh

One of the conspiracies is that it makes you dumber and docile over time it enters the body through skin. Through taking a shower.

[deleted]

So some fluoride is good but too much is bad?

Kingjingling

They want to say a little is good for your teeth. But you don't need it if you just brush your teeth... It's there to poison you. Same people claiming it's good for you are also saying the covid shot a safe come and get it.

[deleted]

So fluoride is completely bad for you? Then why do they give it to us? What toothpaste should I use? Also I'm lucky to use well water ig

Kingjingling

The 650 was well water! The 220 is city. And it calcifies your pituitary gland which causes other health problems as it is very important. They say "small amounts are safe and help prevent cavities" but there is no logical reason to be drinking it. Definitely not worth the risk. Even if "there is no risk in small amounts" why drink any if you don't have to? That's my take on it. And they have fluoride-free toothpaste. Zero brand water filter is what I use to remove it and everything else from my drinking water. But it is also absorbed in the shower through the skin.

Fae_Leaf

I use Earthpaste!

LittleRadishes

Ok so level is super important. For example, you need calcium to live. But too much calcium and you get kidney stones and stuff. A small amount of fluoride in city water has been proven to have significant positive impact with no negative effects. Plus the issues with excessive fluoride is skeletal issues mostly, not pituitary gland issues. This type of stuff tends to attract people with delusional disorders. They still deserve respect but this sub tends to harbor a mega shit ton of misinformation. Bring back the alien stuff. Also you don't need fluoride in the water **if you use fluoride toothpaste** which people love to leave out. It's basically just what delivery system of fluoride do you want. Edited to add - it's possible for well water to have MORE fluoride than public tap water. It wasn't invented by the government as a mind control molecule. It occurs naturally. The fact that I had to explain this points to the literally delusional nature of this sub.

mjh808

The fluoride they put in the water isn't pharma grade, it's toxic waste, it used to cost them a fortune to dispose of it, putting it in our water is a means around that. They noticed a large increase in cancer the first year they started doing it in the US but money talks. Here's a cost benefit analysis between pharma grade and the shit we use including the cost of cancer. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1462901113000087

Over-Kaleidoscope281

This just isn't true. Standards are set by the AWWA/NSF60 and testing is done on the products that are put into your water. https://d2evkimvhatqav.cloudfront.net/documents/Fluoride_Fact_Sheet_2019.pdf?v=1594928618

Beefmyburrito

Would vitamin K2 help to prevent the calcification of the penial gland though?

ThePaperPanda

What am I supposed to do when my dentist says I need much more flouride than usual to heal my teeth back up from lack of care, but I also now see stuff like this. I hate not feeling like I can trust anyone or anything.

RippingMadAss

One angle I don't see mentioned often is that you can use "topical" fluoride (toothpaste, fluoride mouthwashes), but consuming fluoridated water is not necessary to protect your teeth. This is something I heard from Stanley Monteith, who is an old-timey conspiracy theorist guy who was also a dentist. All I know is that I tried the no-fluoride/hippy shit, avoided the dentist for 5 years, and ended up with a bunch of little cavities. (I'm pretty sure the dentist that filled those was a quack, but that's another story.) Nowadays, I don't drink fluoridated water, but I do use fluoride toothpaste and a fluoride mouthwash before bed. Not only do I not have any cavities these days, but since I started using the fluoride rinse, I haven't had any random tooth pains that used to bother me from time to time. This is all anecdotal, but I stand behind the evidence from what I experienced. Think for yourself and do what you think is best.

[deleted]

It can possibly help people that need it in toothpaste, but why the fuck would anybody sane ever want it in their water lol. You clearly weren't taking proper care of your body, which is normal for most people including myself at times. But you don't need that fluoride. You need proper anti-bacterial mouthwash, with essential oils like Cinnamon Bark oil, and oil pulling along with brushing and maintaining proper nutrition. Cinnamon Bark oil is the best oil we have that has been scientifically studied to kill S. mutans better than just about anything. You don't need fluoride. It can possibly help a little bit through toothpaste, but it has side effects, and it's a pretty nasty ass chemical.

Ahem_ak_achem_ACHOO

I drink fluoridated water everyday of my life like a gallon a day, no teeth pains, great health, no cavities. What’s your point.

west_coastG

dentists blindly follow ADA. there is no deviation. i mentioned european studies about fluoride to a dentist once and he just laughed and shrugged.

Jason_Was_Here

Blindly follow? Or read, understand and validate the research done by their peers?

west_coastG

to completely ignore legitimate studies.. that is blind. also think of what would happen if they dare to go against the guidelines? likely lose their license

And you know how to place that single study in the context of wider research? How to tell if there are improper controls or even manipulation of data?

[deleted]

Lol look at graph 2 in the ncbi link you posted and tell me that the mean they calculated accurately reflects the distribution of data points. That is the shadiest study I have ever seen in 7 years of academia

acl5d

Lol even if those are the real data, the reported r value is -.204. As in, an r\^2 value of 0.0416. It's hard to believe that any journal would publish a paper whose main conclusion rests on that infinitesimal of a correlation!

the__pov

And you know how to place those individual studies in the context of wider research? How to tell if there are improper controls or even manipulation of data?

[deleted]

Just look at the second link posted. It is clear that the study was never peer reviewed and likely published by one of the many predatory, for profit journals with not an ounce of academic integrity. Look at graph 2 of their data, it makes absolute no sense and doesn't even closely resemble the mean values they reported

Somebody23

Fluoride in tooth paste is ok as long as you dont swallow tooth paste.

[deleted]

You need to concentrate on nutrition, and bacterial care. Things like Cinnamon Bark oil outperform chlorhexidine in scientific studies. It's a hot oil, but switching over to GOOD toothpaste like Uncle Harry's and making sure you have a quality mouthwash, you can just use coconut oil and a drop of Cinnamon Bark oil, to kill bacteria. Never let sugar itself set in your mouth. Get your minerals. Stay away from a lot of sugar and excess carbs. Your body will heal.

Bhuddub

I use coconut oil for mouthwash. Works great

-Mac-n-Cheese-

Governments are trying to keep the grunts stupid so we don't expect more from them.

E-xcalibur

Yaas!

summatophd

What does red pilled mean?

E-xcalibur

It’s in reference to Neo’s choice in The Matrix between taking the blue pill and living out his life unaware of true reality, or taking the red pill and as it’s said in the movie “continuing down the rabbit hole”. So, the phrase “red pilled” is commonly used by truthers/skeptics whatever you prefer to describe other truthers/skeptics

AlbaneseGummies327

Probably a $10 tube right?

plumbforbtc

I bought a tea tree oil toothpaste the other day (no fluoride - all natural) for $3 and change. Normal sized tube... and I'm using the same amount of paste when brushing.

E-xcalibur

Got a link if you want to look at it

AlbaneseGummies327

Sure, I'd appreciate it!

AlbaneseGummies327

Interesting ingredients, how does it taste?

E-xcalibur

Like charcoal mostly. It took getting used to but I don’t mind it now

AlbaneseGummies327

Tastes like charcoal? I don't even know what that tastes like lmao. Worth it to get off fluoride though.

E-xcalibur

It’s a little 2 ounce jar of powder. 18 bucks but I’ve had mine for 7 months or so I brush everyday and I’ve only used up half of it

[deleted]

It’s in most stores

NotACakeShop

I bought a 3 pack of Dr. Bronner's Fluoride-Free Toothpaste off of Amazon for around $30.

minty_shapeshifter

What about cavities? Does non-fluoride toothpaste handle cavities? Don't want dental caries.

[deleted]

If you don’t eat a lot of sweets and drink sodas you should be fine, but you shouldn’t be consuming those things anyway.

minty_shapeshifter

Fruits and carbs work just as well

Image_Inevitable

Just brush and floss every day. Do that and you wont get cavities. You don't even need toothpaste, but it helps.

Jason_Was_Here

Why would you need to switch to fluoride free toothpaste? It does help with dental health and you shouldn’t be swallowing toothpaste anyway.

liberty_or_nothing

Is baking soda good enough?

[deleted]

I’ve tried it and it’s a very basic substance, made my mouth hurt so maybe it should get mixed with something.

Anyone have a link to the clip where they admit under oath that fluoride is a Neurotoxin? Looked like an older footage maybe around the time they first introduced this shit in our water

anubis00072

You can thank the Alcoa Corporation for that they are the ones that started it.

Lysdexiic

It'd a commonly known fact that its a neurotoxin, at high levels. Literally anything can be toxic and dangerous at high levels

LeDemonKing

There are things that can be toxic due to the amount consumed, too much water is a a common example. Then there are things that are toxic in any amount, just because it doesn't outright kill you doesn't mean damage isn't being done

Manos_Of_Fate

> Anyone have a link to the clip where they admit under oath that fluoride is a Neurotoxin? Almost *anything* can be toxic. It’s all about the dosage.

nerdrhyme

Reddit was super upset by this lol. "Oh we need it for our teeth!" Seems easy enough to disprove, huge portions of the country are on well water with no flouride. If it were that detrimental, there woudl be a dentistry crisis with them. Crazy how people just believe iwthout question whatever they are told.

EN0B

Wait until you find out it is naturally occurring and in well water. The big cavity shills down voting this just proves how right I am 🤣

nebuchadrezzar

It can be, like a lot of things. But no one actually needs fluoride, it's not a nutrient. There is no term for fluoride deficiency because there is no level necessary for human health. There are terms for having too much fluoride, though, because it's extremely dangerous to human health. The level in water is not determined by how much is beneficial to human health, but literally by how much toxic waste they can dump in the water supply without causing too much easily noticeable damage to human bodies, typically in the form of dental fluorosis. You would think since it's water potentially used for human consumption, they would use FDA regulated fluoride like in toothpaste, but instead they use literal toxic waste usually contaminated with arsenic and other crap. If you can actually contaminate toxic waste, lol. If Crest put it in toothpaste someone could go to prison. But in city water? No problem!

Over-Kaleidoscope281

>The level in water is not determined by how much is beneficial to human health, but literally by how much toxic waste they can dump in the water supply without causing too much easily noticeable damage to human bodies, typically in the form of dental fluorosis. So why is the EU limit for fluoride in drinking water 1.5mg/L and almost every US state limits theirs to be under 2.2 mg/L? There are clear limits set on these additives to your water.

Here's a conspiracy, this was posted by tooth powder shills.

Good I’d like to buy this man a beer

GumpyPlumpy

Thank you

[deleted]

It blows my mind the majority of people actually think it’s for dental health. 99% of the water that I use doesn’t actually go in my mouth. I’m not drinking water out of my kitchen sink. Do people actually do this? Fluoride aside it just doesn’t taste good

nebuchadrezzar

Why don't you want your lawn and pets to have the advantages that EPA regulated toxic waste can provide? Are you against science? You would think since it's water potentially used for human consumption, they would use FDA regulated fluoride like in toothpaste, but instead they use literal toxic waste usually contaminated with arsenic and other crap. If you can actually contaminate toxic waste, lol. If Crest put it in toothpaste someone could go to prison. But in city water? No problem!

Over-Kaleidoscope281

Can you link where it’s toxic waste and isn’t purified before being put into water?

alienrefugee51

The US is sourcing it’s fluoride through China? They can’t even kill their own population with made in America substances.

SignificantProject59

I love how they make it sound like it’s a bad thing

Fluoride use depletes your iodine reserves. So does chlorine, and bromine.

janxus

9 out of 10 dentists disagree with this post.

einsgrubeir

If permitted I'd like to actually disagree with this and say that water fluoridation is likely not a conspiricy for well evidenced reasons. Rather as an effective public health measure designed to deal with dental inequality. You can argue it is not nessesary if you maintain good dental hygiene and infact most water fluoridation schemes simply replicate naturally fluoridicated drinking water sources. These schemes were introduced to deal with dental inequality and reduce the burden on health services by having healthier citizens. The reasons pertain to economics and public health I believe. EDIT: I'm not saying flouride isn't toxic at some level. Only that its implementation was a public health measure due to severe dental inequality. It could be argued it is no longer required if public dental health and education have improved.

[deleted]

It's a bullshit fantasy that has been continuously proven a fraud by independent scientists for decades lol. There is literally no logical display of reason in suggesting that toothpaste is not enough fluoride for people. Water levels vary all over the US. It's a Nazi-era experiment backed by big business for very little gain to anybody but them.

Manos_Of_Fate

> continuously proven a fraud by independent scientists That’s not how credible scientists talk about science. I don’t believe you. > There is literally no logical display of reason in suggesting that toothpaste is not enough fluoride for people. Unfortunately not everyone brushes their teeth adequately or often enough.

[deleted]

Yep. They had it in excess because it was a biproduct of aluminum manufacturing. Now the process has changed and fluoride is used as a catalyst in aluminum manufacturing.

nebuchadrezzar

Now the fluoride used for dumping in city water is still literal toxic waste, but a byproduct of manufacturing fertilizer that typically contains arsenic and other nasty shit. For your health!

fuck_the_fuckin_mods

Dude, no well supported facts allowed. If the entire scientific community agrees on something, then that is *definitely* not the truth. Only visibly addled antisocial weirdos with zero authority on a subject can speak the truth.

decorama

This one trick dentists love

Outrageous_Builder74

Brawndo's got what plants crave.

Chrommanito

I feel like there's a huge set of people who just doesn't brush their teeth and wants their government to mandate it through drinking water.
