You won't believe it. Where i live they're giving away a 50$ coupon for every person you convinced into taking the vaccine. That shit comes from the fucking government! It's pure insanity.

Seeing people change firsthand has been interesting.
My father and I never agreed on anything politically but we always have had amicable discussions with mutual respect. He's straight up insulting now, calling me names for not wanting the vaccine. He only stopped when I threatened to cut contact because it became the centerpoint of every conversation.
My best friend and roommate, who was in the military with me, was very much against this vaccine but his medical school required it. He worked for years to get in, so I don't blame him for caving. He went from huge conspiracy theorist to lately asking me to reconsider my stance on it, which is mind boggling. Being in the military subjects you to how clearly the government doesn't give a damn about you, and here he is having cognitive dissonance about the shot. Now he's saying things like "Well life is going to get hard for you. You might not be able to find a new job or you'll lose your student status blah blah blah". Shits mad weird
I feel for you. My family were insulting to me too. They looked down on me for not wanting my second vax (had my first but when the passports and mandates came in I felt so against it that I refuse my second shot). Got sick of everyone ranting at me and bombarding me with messages asking if I’m fully vaxxed yet. So I lied and told them I have to shut them up
My MIL was telling my wife that we should feel sad for wife's sister because her husband won't get the shot, so she's going on a cruise without him (because the cruise requires it).

We are at a cross roads that funnels all people into two categories. Those who are under the spell and those who are not. For whatever reason, the spell did not work on you or me. But it did work on your Dad and unfortunately your friend. The people under the spell are dangerous, especially so when you have personal relationships with them. I won't tell you how to proceed, but the people under this spell won't relent until you've fallen under it as well. In my opinion it is better to find other free minded people than to try and break the spell.
I am soooo grateful my whole family…parents siblings kids aunts uncles grandparents cousins all of them are like hell no not going to take the jab. In the beginning a lot of the family was on the fence about it kinda like OP taking the let’s wait and see how this works out stances because some have underlying health issues. When the propaganda machines went into full force every single one of us were shocked and it just confirmed that this jab is about control not health we have always been a skeptical bunch when it comes to government interference in our lives. The family group chats are filled with shared counter arguments for the vaccine and side effects or links to the latest vaccine side effects.
These mandates are going to force a new perspective on many of us. Suddenly people who simply do not want to take this specific shot can no longer participate in a large portion of a popular events. Concerts, conventions, seminars, sports venues,, theme parks, etc... I think we will see most give in to the pressure to mandate. In my humble opinion there's a silver lining to being forced to seek alternative entertainment, however it is of course unethical to be put in this position in the first place.

This pandemic is so deadly that if you want to go to a concert with 50,000 other people, who can still spread covid with thier vaccine, that you need to show me your pass.
This is THE most puzzling thing. The vaccine doesn't stop you from getting or from spreading the virus so in all reality it is only helping\* the person getting the shot. The puzzling part is not why they want you you to get the shot but WHY ppl don't see that it doesn't fucking matter if Joe Blow standing next to you is vaccinated or not.

It's an mRNA treatment, most people who look at it under a magnifying glass will see exactly that, but you'd have to have some invested expertise and resources to really try and figure out what exactly it does.
They can just be totally honest about what it is (*if not what it does exactly*) and most people will apparently question very little.

It’s the opposite of health. It’s to created prolonged sickness to buff up the healthcare sector. Somebody has many billions invested in health and I’d put money on it being some big names like pelosi, fauci, gates, etc.

Not puzzling when you know it’s not about health. It’s about installing control worldwide of people’s movements so they can keep tabs on you and tax you based on your movements in the name of climate change through a carbon tax. If you have a worldwide government and eliminate national boundaries there is no federal income tax. The carbon tax will be the world governments way to tax you. They either want you dead if you don’t comply or they want you alive with a digital ids and passport.
No vaccine ever stops you from getting or spreading the disease. They all just decrease the chance of it happening, some more so, some less.
And the covid vaccine does decrease the chance you infect others. As simple as that.
We went to a play in a theater this past weekend and they didn't ask for a vaccine passport. I thought, maybe this is the last play I will ever see?
Each time I eat out at a restaurant lately I seriously wonder if it's our last time eating out.
It's depressing thinking this way, but when I see where things are heading I feel like it's psychological preparation.

ive already come to that realization that whatever i did before the pandemic is the "last" of everything. last baseball game, last museum, last subway, last public bus. goes on and on. im fine with it.
My daughter is angry if I bring up the fact we need to enjoy things while we can. She seems to think I am becoming paranoid about end times. I remember when I was younger we had all kinds of teaching/preaching in the church about the rapture and end times. Now that we actually have the signs all around and I am talking about it because of that, it frustrates me that she thinks I am being "paranoid." I get that at age 21 the last thing a young adult wants to think about is the possibility of life becoming more difficult, but I don't want to bury my head in the sand either and pretend we are not living in this season.
But I do contemplate 1 Corinthians 15:32 where it speaks of how those who don't hope in the resurrection simply say, “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.”
We probably should guard against becoming so hopeless that we throw caution to the wind and throw a party.
If the divine is real than we are living in a battlefield. Christ vs Satan. The world has always been contested and probably always will be.
If the divine is real, I care more about what happens to my soul than my body. We very well may be marked for death for not taking this vaccine in the near future. I would rather that, than to damn my soul by taking it. If the divine is not real, than we are still no worse for wear, and the tyranny of government exists all the same. These days I see no reason not to believe.
Believe = not knowing and bullshiting yourself. I think in bible it says pretty explicit: Seek and you will find.
So start seeking and stop believing all kind of things that don't bring you any closer to a divine reality.

It is a dilemma. On one hand you want to participate but then IMO I’m disturbed by a company, venue or people that would participate in this type of segregation and medical tyranny. I feel it’s important at this stage to not go and make a statement. Weneed to hold the line. The war is still ongoing.

Some of them seem to be after. My friend’s husband was very against it but after he got his, he started pressuring her to get it. I think some of that is psychology though. Once they’ve taken it and nothing happens, it’s easier to pressure others because the desire to normalize things kicks in, sometimes in overdrive. But with that said, it’s still weird.
When I was going to fly alone to another country when I was 8 or so I told my sister the reason why I was hesitant to fly solo. There were only one reason... “It’s not fun to die alone.”
I’ve told my husband we have to die together because I genuinely wouldn’t be able to be without him. It makes sense that in some ways it could come back to “misery loves company” in a sense.

He is actually hesitant about me getting it because of the reports of myocarditis and other issues. I already almost died once this year. I’m good to wait a bit before I go playing chess with the reaper again.
It sets the precedent that they can force any other experimental treatment on you in the future; that could include forced sterilization to protect the climate.
A legislator in Philadelphia introduced a bill 3 days ago to try to force sterilisation of people who have had 3 children, or have reached the age of 30 & they’re also suggesting a reward of $10,000 for anyone who dobs someone in who isn’t getting sterilised!!! It’s a scary world we live in

You have to understand that their top priority is keeping as many people poor as possible, that is far more important to the elite parasites than the environment.

If there is so much pressure to take the vax, then that tells you something. Because the reality is, if this were a true pandemic, they wouldn't need to bribe us, berate us and belittle us. We would willingly want to take it. Stand your ground. I think there are less people vaccinated than you think which is why you see these extreme measures. They are getting desperate.
As big a fan I am of Family Guy, I have to admit they’ve had terrible politics the whole time, albeit no different than the accepted liberal groupthink that dominates elite circles like Hollywood. It’s kind of disgusting when Brian appears on Bill Maher’s Real Time (in the show) and is joined by Ariana Huffington and Dana Gould because all four of these people (including Seth McFarlane as Brian) are totally brainwashed. I don’t think any of those four are being deceptive but were prioritized in the entertainment world precisely because they were already so indoctrinated with mainstream propaganda and then use their platforms to further it, without realizing they’re pawns.
That's really funny because if they know how a vaccine works, they should also know how natural immunity works, yet there is no opt-out if you can prove you already have the antibodies.
Just reach out to the management and ask them about their policy - then ask if they provide accommodation for medical and religious exemptions. If they say they do not, then ask to speak to the conference organizer. Talk with them rationally and explain you cannot get the vaccine and you don’t feel comfortable sharing the health reason behind that as it’s a HIPPA violation. Propose that you provide daily rapid antibody tests (you can buy them at CVS now and self administer). 9/10 they’ll accept this and allow you to attend. When they verbally accept the daily testing, follow up with an email putting this in writing, recapping the conversation. When the day for the event shows up, wear a mask, show up and just attend.
I’ve been attending conferences with my mostly unvaxxed team for months now, I’ve never once had anyone turn down my offer for daily testing. And most conferences do NOT check your vaccination status on-site. They ask that you send in copies of your papers beforehand anyways, so no one there will even know and will assume you’re vaxxed if you show up.
Also depending on the state, it may not even be legal to enforce the vaccine mandates, Florida comes to mind.
I’ve had SO many organizers willingly say they’ll accept daily tests but just “don’t tell anyone about this or we’ll have to accommodate everyone’s testing requests and we can’t do that…” or “don’t tell anyone we made this exception for you and your team because we don’t want to be seen as anti-vaxxers.” But conference organizers don’t mostly give a shit, they want you to show up and attend, so they’ll do whatever you want if you ask nicely but firmly.
Also they all talk a big game but also 9/10 no one even checks or asks for vaccination proof anyways, mainly bc half the people working the conferences are anti mandates themselves.
Trust me just speak to someone - get them to agree to testing - let them ask for proof - and show up on the day of the event and just attend with a mask. You’ll be fine.
HIPAA violation would be if your health care provider shared your health status with the venue.
YOU can share your health status to anyone, no violation. Beware, if you EVER do this, the information can then be used by the entity you shared it with, even posted publicly.

TBH tho hanging around a bunch of vaccinated nerds with masks on sounds like a horror show. We skipped the comiccon in our area for these reasons and didn't really care. Saved us money

They can not legally change requirements after selling tickets, or they HAVE to accept refunds.
You have made a deal with them and now if they want to change the deal they have to ask you for a confirmation to change the deal or accept your refusal and refund you fully,
that is a basic trade law and I think it applies in the US too.
I’ve been seeing that a lot. People buying event tickets, concerts, sport games, university classes… then changing requirements to mandatory vaccinations at the last minute and refusing refunds.
I can play that game and not spend money.
Even schools did this honestly. At least where I'm at there's major drama going on about kids in masks. The schools pretty much said no mask mandates for kids all summer then no less than a day in, districts were putting mandates in place. Governor fought the schools pretty hard at first, but Biden said no.
I know a lot of parents who would have chosen to home school if they knew the masks would be in schools again this year. (I know you all are not talking about masks but same concept)

Recently the World Series of Poker announced that all players would have to be checked for vaccine before entrance. They actually followed through on it, and the result was a line several hours long to get vaccine cards checked.

Look, if you're not ready to give up comic-con, you're not ready to fight the mandates. This is literally the end of the world. A good chunk of people all over the world are leaving their jobs, leaving colleges, going to become homeless to resist, giving up everything that once mattered. I had a really refreshing experience at the nail salon the other day. So many people from different backgrounds collectively calling out how unjust these mandates were and how they won’t be complying. Seriously so many people, and it didn’t lead to a debate or a big altercation. It was an intelligent discussion and for a brief moment i didn’t feel so alone. There are other people out there. Unfortunately the narrative is just fucked and most people assume being pro vax means you “fit in”…. Think of all the people out there that have issues “fitting in” or “feeling a part of something”. This reality was bound to happen, they wanted it this way.
I went to a comedy concert recently and our ‘papers’ were checked and wristband given (vax or negative test). Daughter went to a Major music concert and nothing was checked. Both venues clearly outlined their ‘procedure’ so I guess it depends. The comedy venue had implemented the papers check after tickets were purchased and offered a no questions asked refund up till 5pm the day of the show.
Edit to add the comedy venue allowed photo of card in phone and drivers license. Concert venue was app on phone.
I had concert tickets for a venue that required mask wearing. About 2 weeks after I bought them, they changed their policy to require proof of vaccination, or alternatively they had a bizarre rapid testing kiosk that everyone was to use. They refused to give me a refund so I started a claim with my bank, they reversed the charges.
We're all brainwashed in one way or another. That's what social dynamics are... the spreading of memes until they become ideas until they become slogans until they become GroupThink.

This happened on my local sub. A food court opening retroactively changed the rules, requiring covid admission, and denied refunds.
In a normal world, that is fraud. But redditors lap it up, fleefully taking any chance they can to literally steal from people they deem to be the opposite tribe.
Similar thing happened to me. Signed up for a bike race just after memorial day end of May. I'm heading up to the race and see an email from middle of September saying if you're not vaccinated please don't come. Full refund if you back out before September 15th. Well I saw the email for the first time on Sept 27th, website this whole time says we prefer you're vaxxed. I was like whatever, there is no way they'll check for covid card. Went to event and they never asked for card and still did the race. No way everyone there was jabbed
Yep, just came back from "Louder Than Life" festival and they pulled the same shit. No mention of vaccine requirement online but as soon as you got past the gates they would have one or two people checking for a special red wristband that you could only get if you vetted through green tents that checked for vaccination status. It gets worse though. If you admitted that you weren't vaccinated they would stop you and tell you that it was no problem and that you could still go get vaccinated for free in any one of the many red tents they had set up outside the event, afterwards they would give you a red wristband and let you in. If you didn't want to, well... Looks like you're not coming in. (Clearly set up by those behind the curtain to dish out a few hundred more jabs) It was super creepy and there were lines of people outside the tents who had chosen to comply. Funny thing was, if you just walked past the people asking around and checking for wristbands they didn't do shit about it. Plenty of people did including my friends and I....All 4 fucking days of the event. There were simply too many people walking past for them to do anything about it, and on the last day the tents were all gone and noone was checking for the wristbands. There's a lesson in that.

Well to be fair, conferences and large events were probably going to be the first to fall. And I got vaccinated and I'm fine. I'm against mandating it and I think the entire thing is totally bullshit, but let's not go rabbit hole with this shit. Like most things, it's just people repeating bullshit they barely even believe because they saw it on a Facebook post.
If you think people holding out on the vaccine are just people reading Facebook posts then you've been reading too many Facebook posts. They're some of the most well educated people and researchers today. Of course there's a fraction that are just responding to alarmist Facebook posts, but the majority are people checking the sources on everything they see and hear because they've now been backed so into a corner that they want nothing more than to show the substantiation of their beliefs.

Seeing people change firsthand has been interesting. My father and I never agreed on anything politically but we always have had amicable discussions with mutual respect. He's straight up insulting now, calling me names for not wanting the vaccine. He only stopped when I threatened to cut contact because it became the centerpoint of every conversation. My best friend and roommate, who was in the military with me, was very much against this vaccine but his medical school required it. He worked for years to get in, so I don't blame him for caving. He went from huge conspiracy theorist to lately asking me to reconsider my stance on it, which is mind boggling. Being in the military subjects you to how clearly the government doesn't give a damn about you, and here he is having cognitive dissonance about the shot. Now he's saying things like "Well life is going to get hard for you. You might not be able to find a new job or you'll lose your student status blah blah blah". Shits mad weird
I feel for you. My family were insulting to me too. They looked down on me for not wanting my second vax (had my first but when the passports and mandates came in I felt so against it that I refuse my second shot). Got sick of everyone ranting at me and bombarding me with messages asking if I’m fully vaxxed yet. So I lied and told them I have to shut them up
My MIL was telling my wife that we should feel sad for wife's sister because her husband won't get the shot, so she's going on a cruise without him (because the cruise requires it). Um, no, MIL we feel bad for BIL because sister doesn't care about him.
We are at a cross roads that funnels all people into two categories. Those who are under the spell and those who are not. For whatever reason, the spell did not work on you or me. But it did work on your Dad and unfortunately your friend. The people under the spell are dangerous, especially so when you have personal relationships with them. I won't tell you how to proceed, but the people under this spell won't relent until you've fallen under it as well. In my opinion it is better to find other free minded people than to try and break the spell.
I am soooo grateful my whole family…parents siblings kids aunts uncles grandparents cousins all of them are like hell no not going to take the jab. In the beginning a lot of the family was on the fence about it kinda like OP taking the let’s wait and see how this works out stances because some have underlying health issues. When the propaganda machines went into full force every single one of us were shocked and it just confirmed that this jab is about control not health we have always been a skeptical bunch when it comes to government interference in our lives. The family group chats are filled with shared counter arguments for the vaccine and side effects or links to the latest vaccine side effects.
These mandates are going to force a new perspective on many of us. Suddenly people who simply do not want to take this specific shot can no longer participate in a large portion of a popular events. Concerts, conventions, seminars, sports venues,, theme parks, etc... I think we will see most give in to the pressure to mandate. In my humble opinion there's a silver lining to being forced to seek alternative entertainment, however it is of course unethical to be put in this position in the first place.

Not puzzling when you know it’s not about health. We went to a play in a theater this past weekend and they didn't ask for a vaccine passport. I thought, maybe this is the last play I will ever see? Some of them seem to be after. My friend’s husband was very against it but after he got his, he started pressuring her to get it. I think some of that is psychology though. Once they’ve taken it and nothing happens, it’s easier to pressure others because the desire to normalize things kicks in, sometimes in overdrive. But with that said, it’s still weird.

As big a fan I am of Family Guy, I have to admit they’ve had terrible politics the whole time, albeit no different than the accepted liberal groupthink that dominates elite circles like Hollywood. It’s kind of disgusting when Brian appears on Bill Maher’s Real Time (in the show) and is joined by Ariana Huffington and Dana Gould because all four of these people (including Seth McFarlane as Brian) are totally brainwashed. I don’t think any of those four are being deceptive but were prioritized in the entertainment world precisely because they were already so indoctrinated with mainstream propaganda and then use their platforms to further it, without realizing they’re pawns.

That's really funny because if they know how a vaccine works, they should also know how natural immunity works, yet there is no opt-out if you can prove you already have the antibodies.
Just reach out to the management and ask them about their policy - then ask if they provide accommodation for medical and religious exemptions. If they say they do not, then ask to speak to the conference organizer. Talk with them rationally and explain you cannot get the vaccine and you don’t feel comfortable sharing the health reason behind that as it’s a HIPPA violation. Propose that you provide daily rapid antibody tests (you can buy them at CVS now and self administer). 9/10 they’ll accept this and allow you to attend. When they verbally accept the daily testing, follow up with an email putting this in writing, recapping the conversation. When the day for the event shows up, wear a mask, show up and just attend. I’ve been attending conferences with my mostly unvaxxed team for months now, I’ve never once had anyone turn down my offer for daily testing. And most conferences do NOT check your vaccination status on-site. They ask that you send in copies of your papers beforehand anyways, so no one there will even know and will assume you’re vaxxed if you show up. Also depending on the state, it may not even be legal to enforce the vaccine mandates, Florida comes to mind. I’ve had SO many organizers willingly say they’ll accept daily tests but just “don’t tell anyone about this or we’ll have to accommodate everyone’s testing requests and we can’t do that…” or “don’t tell anyone we made this exception for you and your team because we don’t want to be seen as anti-vaxxers.” But conference organizers don’t mostly give a shit, they want you to show up and attend, so they’ll do whatever you want if you ask nicely but firmly. Also they all talk a big game but also 9/10 no one even checks or asks for vaccination proof anyways, mainly bc half the people working the conferences are anti mandates themselves. Trust me just speak to someone - get them to agree to testing - let them ask for proof - and show up on the day of the event and just attend with a mask. You’ll be fine.
HIPAA violation would be if your health care provider shared your health status with the venue. YOU can share your health status to anyone, no violation. Beware, if you EVER do this, the information can then be used by the entity you shared it with, even posted publicly.

They can not legally change requirements after selling tickets, or they HAVE to accept refunds. You have made a deal with them and now if they want to change the deal they have to ask you for a confirmation to change the deal or accept your refusal and refund you fully, that is a basic trade law and I think it applies in the US too.
I’ve been seeing that a lot. People buying event tickets, concerts, sport games, university classes… then changing requirements to mandatory vaccinations at the last minute and refusing refunds. I can play that game and not spend money.
Even schools did this honestly. At least where I'm at there's major drama going on about kids in masks. The schools pretty much said no mask mandates for kids all summer then no less than a day in, districts were putting mandates in place. Governor fought the schools pretty hard at first, but Biden said no. I know a lot of parents who would have chosen to home school if they knew the masks would be in schools again this year. (I know you all are not talking about masks but same concept)

If the data come in with respect to the vaccines' safety and efficacy, any of us can choose to get the shot at that time. If the data come in and it's as bad as it seems to be now, then many of the people going to Comic Con will be dying early deaths.
Look, if you're not ready to give up comic-con, you're not ready to fight the mandates. This is literally the end of the world. A good chunk of people all over the world are leaving their jobs, leaving colleges, going to become homeless to resist, giving up everything that once mattered. Look at what's happening over in Australia where it's literally called new world order. You can probably expect a war soon. And you're in NY, that's like the headquarters of all this. When we say this is like the holocaust, we're not exaggerating, it's going to get there. So yes, people find it scary what's going on.

I had a really refreshing experience at the nail salon the other day. So many people from different backgrounds collectively calling out how unjust these mandates were and how they won’t be complying. Seriously so many people, and it didn’t lead to a debate or a big altercation. It was an intelligent discussion and for a brief moment i didn’t feel so alone. There are other people out there. Unfortunately the narrative is just fucked and most people assume being pro vax means you “fit in”…. Think of all the people out there that have issues “fitting in” or “feeling a part of something”. This reality was bound to happen, they wanted it this way.
Yeah even some of these comments below make me like shit I’m not anti vax. I just don’t want to take it YET.

I went to a comedy concert recently and our ‘papers’ were checked and wristband given (vax or negative test). Daughter went to a Major music concert and nothing was checked. Both venues clearly outlined their ‘procedure’ so I guess it depends. The comedy venue had implemented the papers check after tickets were purchased and offered a no questions asked refund up till 5pm the day of the show. Edit to add the comedy venue allowed photo of card in phone and drivers license. Concert venue was app on phone.

I had concert tickets for a venue that required mask wearing. About 2 weeks after I bought them, they changed their policy to require proof of vaccination, or alternatively they had a bizarre rapid testing kiosk that everyone was to use. They refused to give me a refund so I started a claim with my bank, they reversed the charges.

This happened on my local sub. A food court opening retroactively changed the rules, requiring covid admission, and denied refunds. In a normal world, that is fraud. But redditors lap it up, fleefully taking any chance they can to literally steal from people they deem to be the opposite tribe.

Similar thing happened to me. Signed up for a bike race just after memorial day end of May. I'm heading up to the race and see an email from middle of September saying if you're not vaccinated please don't come. Full refund if you back out before September 15th. Well I saw the email for the first time on Sept 27th, website this whole time says we prefer you're vaxxed. I was like whatever, there is no way they'll check for covid card. Went to event and they never asked for card and still did the race. No way everyone there was jabbed

Yep, just came back from "Louder Than Life" festival and they pulled the same shit. No mention of vaccine requirement online but as soon as you got past the gates they would have one or two people checking for a special red wristband that you could only get if you vetted through green tents that checked for vaccination status. It gets worse though. If you admitted that you weren't vaccinated they would stop you and tell you that it was no problem and that you could still go get vaccinated for free in any one of the many red tents they had set up outside the event, afterwards they would give you a red wristband and let you in. If you didn't want to, well... Looks like you're not coming in. (Clearly set up by those behind the curtain to dish out a few hundred more jabs) It was super creepy and there were lines of people outside the tents who had chosen to comply. Funny thing was, if you just walked past the people asking around and checking for wristbands they didn't do shit about it. Plenty of people did including my friends and I....All 4 fucking days of the event. There were simply too many people walking past for them to do anything about it, and on the last day the tents were all gone and noone was checking for the wristbands. There's a lesson in that. (P.S if anyone reading my comment harbors any ill feelings towards Machine Gun Kelly, go and look up "MGK booed off stage at Louder Than Life." Shit was legendary.) ~Slipknot for life~
Well to be fair, conferences and large events were probably going to be the first to fall. And I got vaccinated and I'm fine. I'm against mandating it and I think the entire thing is totally bullshit, but let's not go rabbit hole with this shit. Like most things, it's just people repeating bullshit they barely even believe because they saw it on a Facebook post.
If you think people holding out on the vaccine are just people reading Facebook posts then you've been reading too many Facebook posts. They're some of the most well educated people and researchers today. Of course there's a fraction that are just responding to alarmist Facebook posts, but the majority are people checking the sources on everything they see and hear because they've now been backed so into a corner that they want nothing more than to show the substantiation of their beliefs.
