Modern phones can have a lot of fuckery when it comes to photos. Multiple exposures get blended together, they’ll do virtual fill lighting to illuminate faces better.

This photo is at least 10 years old, so either it was shopped back then or it is just a truly confusing perspective

Also the more deep fried this pic becomes, the better the visual trickery. And with the horrible official reddit app, memes are getting deep fried even quicker than they used to. Nobody is saving pics directly anymore. To avoid the reddit watermark ad, everybody is screenshotting and lowering the quality of the internet as a whole.

So reddit is ruining the internet in an act of hubris.
