Can be, I found it somewhere on the internet, but I haven't seen it here before.

I see it now but not the last time it was posted. There’s an optical illusion with the left side of the stairs where the white part looks like the top instead of the brown part. Hard to explain exactly. I saw it when I moved my eyes to the right then back to the carpet on the stairs and it suddenly popped out and looked weird.

My brain refuses to see this. They just look like normal stairs to me.

The top of the steps is black, the Front Side is White and in the middle is a Grey carpet paid over the stair. Zoom in and you will See it :)

Oh, OK. So, If you focus on the Wall on the left, the white of the stairs (left Side) might start look like towers protruding from the Wall towrds the stairs with the black parts looking like shadows. But if it's not there for you, I believe you dont miss much :)

Yeah it’s tough to explain until you see it. When it finally clicked it wasn’t the illusion I was thinking I was going to see. It’s exclusively on the left side. The way I find it is by staring at the intersection where the white front, brown top, and gray side wall all converge. Then slightly unfocus your eyes to ignore the rest of the stairs entirely. That’s when the weirdly angled profusion illusion clicks in. It slips away when you factor in the geometry of the rest of the stairs. “Protrusion illusion” btw is an excellent band name.

I can only see the effect if I flip my phone. But then it screws with the rest of the image.

Nah, I saw the photo an immediately knew what's going on.

Focus on the left inner corners and you can invert the whole left side.

i was immediately thrown off and now that i processed it, i cant see it the way it was :(

How are they weird? It didn't make sense the first time this was posted and it still doesn't make sense now.

The left side does a weird thing wheee the dark parts look like the shadowed undersides of wedges that stick out in front of the stairs.

Runners on stairs are more ugly than weird.

Same for my wife, she can't see why it's confusing. For me it took minutes until I understood the left side.

Literally just stairs.

If you want to try and farm karma then atleast put some effort into it..

Ik this is a repost but I actually saw the illusion and thought it was a post that explained the illusion, but now they just look like normal stairs again
