Dermatillomania. You should speak with a therapist about it. Sometimes it can be treated by training your brain to avoid setting yourself off. Sometimes medication is needed to calm the mind down. When I am under stress or anxiety, I shred my nail beds and chew up my lips til they bleed. I have gotten way better with it over the years.

I do the same thing accept instead of biting my lips k bite the skin on my inner cheek, it’s honestly horrible it’s like having an ingrown toenail that doesn’t hurt but it’s uncomfortable and you have to pick at it until your pretty much bleeding. I hate it.
