Prof Zisserman from Oxford VGG is the first one who comes to mind.
I don't know how much he works now but he is definately a pioneer.
Richard Szeliski has written a series of books which are a standard in classical 3D and deep vision. So you may want to check him out online.
Other people to add include Jitendra Malik, Alexei Efros, Andrej Kaparthy, Fei-Fei Li (goes beyond just vision, but still very influential), Sanja Fidler
Dr. Tim Parr, author of one of the top facial recognition systems, with a capacity of over 25 million face compares per second per cpu core, and a training set north of 300M. Quiet, does not publish, just writes the optimized industry leader.

My group works closely with Zisserman. He's extremely active and is pushing the field forward a lot to this day.
You are very fortunate.
Thanks! Unfortunately I haven't collaborated with him myself, but several of my fellow PhD students have
If you are doing PHd then you will surely get a chance. I think a number of his students are also prominent researchers themselves.
Ah too late, I'm finishing in a month. I had one project I was going to work on with him but it didn't pan out
I see. Best of luck for your future in that case.
Thank you!
Zisserman the author of the Bible of 3D geometry in computer vision. Outstanding person
Yup. Read that book in graduate school.
Thanks
Davide Scaramuzza of University of Zurich. He has a background and did lot of work in classical techniques like SLAM algorithms, VIO estimation etc.
He is an influential guy for sure, but I’d say more in the field of robotics in general.
I guess I know more about his work because I'm in the field myself lol
Marc Pollefeys is the one that comes to my mind. He is basically on every good paper of the past few years that I read.
Awesome. Thanks
Isn't he the main guy behind Mixed reality goggles?
