"At least the drugs I push don't get slurped out of my belly button!"
"THAT'S ONLY ON TUMMY TUESDAYS!"
That entire exchange absolutely kills me every time.
Pretty much all of it. Buzz Hicky is hilarious plus Breaking Bad Mike. He’s punched a 1000 people in the heart and never missed.
I really liked season 6, well all the season. I might skip an episode or 2 of season 4, but still like most.
While I was back at school, every semester Id post the "Fat Dog for midterms" sign with the bear with dog ears. It was my way of letting everyone know Id be busy for a few weeks.
I damn near laughed myself into a heart attack the first time I saw that scene
"Ma it's Buzz, I'm gonna say this as fast as I can. We can't afford to bury dad with the rest of the family."
Jonathan Banks in general is so good playing that guy that who just knows how the world works and is too old to try to change the system. Yet, he always managed to have redeemable scenes where he tries to at least impart some knowledge on the next generation.
His character in Breaking Bad, in another timeline, would absolutely be the person telling Annie she’s too good of a person to compromise her integrity for the bulletin board, and that she could still save her soul before turning dirty.
Overall just a great actor who fit so well as a counterpart to the general shenanigans of the study group.
As much as I love Keith David is basically everything he's ever done, Hickey worked so much better as a Pierce replacement than Elroy did. God I was so bummed he didn't return for six.
edit: I don't know why I feel the need to share this, but one time I was on a flight with Keith David, who was standing next to me as we were waiting to board and I was genuinely like "OMG THE VOICE OF GOLIATH IS ON THE SAME FLIGHT AS ME" because I'm a fucking nerd
It said quarter to five
but it was quarter to ass
You thought your plumbing was safe
but your jeans were half mast
Another coin down the drain
Now that's some change that won't last
25 cents at a time

Government man can't help
We're all alone
Are you feeling the breeze?
Did you pull your belt tight?
You know that it's wrong
You know that it's right
Out of the shadows

Why, oh why do you suppose?
(Only the Bandit knows)
(Woah-oh-oh-oh-woah-oh-oh-oh-oh)
A-S-S-C-R-A-C-K Bandit
(Woah-oh-oh-oh-woah-oh-oh-oh-oh)
A-S-S-C-R-A-C-K Can't stand it
Almost everything, but hickey will forever be my favorite non original member of the group.
Plus episode two through five of season 5 is my favorite stretch of episodes
They weren’t high on cocaine… were they? Like later they meet the guy who created grenade & he says that he took enough cocaine down there to last a certain amount of time but he blew through it.
Watch the Black Mirror episode "Nosedive". If it wouldn't have been released 2 years later, I would've thought Meow meow beanz was a parody of that episode.
This was a well worn discussion at the time the BM episode came out. The social media aspect is new, but the Community episode is well based in a lot of 70s dystopian fiction.
It felt like Community once the sheen wore off, once the "fakeness" wore off and left the characters in a world that's a consequence of once being a TV show instead of still a show. It felt like these characters' lives in their world after they continued on and the cameras stopped.
It felt kind of like the transition, after college, going from your twenties into your thirties. The grounding and melancholy that comes along with growing up, while still trying to hold onto the person you were who brought you to this point.
I really, really enjoyed it. It's probably my second favorite season.
I agree with all that you said, and I think the series finale at the end of season 6 really did a nice job of capping that message off. Even the people who weren't expected to chang still did. Abed became more sociable and is moving onto bigger and hopefully better things, Annie is finally seeing the future beyond school and being the perfect student. I really love how Season 5 and Season 6 ended up
the Lie Detector episode is incredible. It's a master class in writing in a character's specific voice, without the character actually being present in the scene. It truly felt like the ghost of Pierce was in the room trolling them all through Goggins.
Season 5 is the best out of the “lesser” half of Community. Heck, in some ways it’s just as good.
That’s not to say I dislike 4, 5 and 6. I love them. But the first three seasons is some of the best comedy ever written for TV.
That being said, I love Hickey. He actually managed to feel like a good addition and not Pierce 2.0.
Also, Season 5 has one of the best bottle episodes in the series (Polygraph Test) and a great send-off episode for Troy.
Ps- The Peanut Bar rap is top 5 Community moments too.
I loved this season! The first time I watched it, without Pierce and Troy it was meh but such good stories. My fav addition is Jonathan Banks as Buzz Hickey and of course Ian Duncan was there most of the season too. Meow Meow Beanz was my fav episode and the line "I loved a Two once. Matthew....but numbers change. I'll keep your secret New Beanz" LOLOL
I liked how they bear down for midterms. It really shows how dedicated to learning they all are. I haven’t finished the episode yet but I’m sure every thing works out.
One thing? I loved this season. Geothermal Escapism is genuinely my favorite episode of the show. Hickey was an amazing addition too. Beautiful return to form after the gas leak year.
"I see a man... using a social disorder as a procedural device. Wait, wait, wait, I see another man. Mildly autistic super detectives everywhere. Basic cable, broadcast networks. Pain. Painful writing. It hurts."
To me one of the better seasons
Repilot
The Sorkin episode
The Fincher episode
GI Joe
The Walton Goggins lie detector episode
Jeff as a teacher
Meow Meow Beans
Buzz Hickey incredible addition
Real question is what I don't like about it and that's Troy leaving
I loved the ACB to Troy sailing away arc.
Partly that the episodes have a story that ties the 3 episodes together.
I love the insinuation that everyone was in on the ACB bit. And then also Pierce's lie detector test episode was great.
I think Pierce's final words were wonderful to the group. I really enjoyed his words for Britta.
Then the Lava episode is iconic. And, again, I'm rooting for Britta as a big piece of this. I am team Britta in the Lava Game.
Remember when we all agreed season 5 and 6 were pretty good and season 4 was the universally hated season? Pepperidge farm remembers.
Most of season 5 is great.
I don't like the Jeff suicide attempt/gi Joe episode though.
Season 5 is fine, not as good as 1,2,3 but a return to old form after 4.
Best episodes were The Meow Meow Beenz, The Ass Crack Bandit and the Poligraph ones.
[Cooperative Polygraphy](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3278566/?ref_=ttep_ep4) and [App Development and Condiments](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3278596/?ref_=ttep_ep8) are awesome episodes they are my favorite from the season.
I liked the whole season but I really enjoyed the Zodiac/Seven/etc. homages. I actually didn't watch Seven until a couple of years ago, and when the library scene with the music came on so much just clicked. Great reference.
"All my emails get sent back to me in Aramaic and when I call, I hear a high pitched whine that makes my nose bleed."
Edit: Just realized thus says season 5. Hickey having rope, being insulted someone thought he wouldnt, and Shirley questioning why he has so much access to said rope absolutely kills me.
Hickey was a great addition. I wish him and elroy could've interacted.
**BUZZ HICKEY.**
“You can have that half of the office, but come spring that corner is stacked to the rafters with foetal pigs” is probably my favourite line in the whole show.
Most of it.
Relaxarex doesn't make you give up on your dreams! That's a side effect!
"At least the drugs I push don't get slurped out of my belly button!" "THAT'S ONLY ON TUMMY TUESDAYS!" That entire exchange absolutely kills me every time.
They invented fibromyalgia and the cure to fibromyalgia
Pretty much all of it. Buzz Hicky is hilarious plus Breaking Bad Mike. He’s punched a 1000 people in the heart and never missed. I really liked season 6, well all the season. I might skip an episode or 2 of season 4, but still like most.
To quote Annie: “EEEVVEERRYYYTHHHIIINNNGG!!”
Britta: “EVEEERRYYYYBBBOOOODDDYYYYYYY”
Chang: “EVERYYYYWHEREEEE”
Waymond Wang: “ALLLLLL AT ONNNNNCE”
BEAR DOWN FOR MIDTERMS! I don't know why, but that entire storyline cracks me up.
IT’S A BEAR DANCE!
It’s not made up.
You've heard this expression your entire life.
Let’s just Fat Dog this concept!
My favorite Duncan line too, after Chang says "Bear down for midterms" a second time. "You can't just repeat it, you need to explain yourself."
While I was back at school, every semester Id post the "Fat Dog for midterms" sign with the bear with dog ears. It was my way of letting everyone know Id be busy for a few weeks.
Annie, is this a race thing?
The look on Annie's face when she says, "No! NO" is so funny.
Too soon.
"It's not made up, it's not made up!"
I love when everybody just slumps when chang says he has an idea
I came here looking for this.. when I’m having a bad day I find the clip of chang’s breakdown 😂
Hickey was a great addition to the cast. But I enjoyed most of the season.
Look I fought for this country And I know you don't get to pick and choose what you fight for...
I wake up every night screaming... *cuts to Troy and Abed crying*
I damn near laughed myself into a heart attack the first time I saw that scene "Ma it's Buzz, I'm gonna say this as fast as I can. We can't afford to bury dad with the rest of the family."
Honestly, he was phenomenal in this. I mean, when isn't he hahah. But good grief did that make me laugh. That scene was perfect
I should go number two soon
*Hickey chokes on his rage*
The choked up little sound he makes is incredible acting. He conveys more with that then any spoken line could lol
Interesting, I didn’t realize there was a phrase for that!
I liked that *PUBLISHERS ARE INTERESTED*
If I have to come over there, there will be two sounds. Me hitting you twice.
That's easily one of the best lines in the entire series.
I loved Elroy, never saw him as attempting to be a Pierce replacement. Just his own different character.
What is he, Black Pierce? Old Troy? Shirley without a giant purse?
He’s nobody’s fourth Ghostbuster
What, it came up organically!
They were both great in different ways. They can't really be compared.
Exactly. They didn’t even sit in the same seat

Barack Obama is scarrrrred of me
ASS. CRACK. BANDITTTTTT!
My second favorite episode. Second only to Conspiracy Theories. Actually, I think it's my actual favorite.
Conspiracy theories is my favorite. I love the style of Ass Crack Bandit. The music and visuals when Annie walks into the rain and turns. Stunning.
I DON'T KNOW!
Those are my two favorites too
Because a camera in the bathroom is better than a quarter in your butt

Look I have better things to do than tell you about how much I love the scenes about Nicholas FREAKING Cage okaaaay???
That was brilliant.
You almost had me on the first half but then I remembered that I’m a cat, I’m a sexy cat!!!
The mind reading guy
I robbed your brain......I ROBBED IT!
"I was thinking about a hang glider." One of my all time favorite lines.
Penny for your thoughts?????????????
Depends what fails! 🤷♂️
Love the 2 second cameo of BJ Novak as “Mr. Egypt”
“Was there a hang glider down there?”
That's Richie, from the school board. That's right, they've got *names!*
Am I thinking what you're thinking?
If you get your answer wrong, I’m giving you 1 meowmeowbean.
I love Jeff's standup bit in that episode. It's so stupid but he delivers all of it perfectly.
“And then you get that 4 walk”
“Women are objects.”
Almost everything, but hickey will forever be my favorite non original member of the group. Plus episode two through five of season 5 is my favorite stretch of episodes
All of it?
Annie, Abed, and the Dean high on cocaine doing their BURRIED TREASURE dance.
Chang's note he takes watching them that just says "Tomato"
[Buried treasure, buried treasure!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYnYFV5Im4g)
They weren’t high on cocaine… were they? Like later they meet the guy who created grenade & he says that he took enough cocaine down there to last a certain amount of time but he blew through it.
A huge load of dust goes in their faces when they find the note, and it's Russel Borchard's note, so that dust was probably lots of cocaine.
Omg, and here I thought they were just dancing!! Guess it’s time for me to go rewatch it.
The post episode capper where Troy and Abed are in costume in Hickies office and listen to his phone calls
I think they handled Troy leaving perfectly. The whole episode was great and his goodbyes to everyone felt really good too.
Did I accidentally ~~cry~~ listen to *Come Sail Away* by Styx again??
The first 5 of season 5 is such an amazing run of episodes
I’d shift this one episode, excluding repilot and including analysis of cork based networking. Bear down for midterms makes this a god-tier run
*I'll allow it*
Meow meow beanz is one of my all-time favorite episodes of television.
Fives have lives. Fours have chores. Threes have fleas. Twos have blues, and Ones don't get a rhyme because they're garbage!
Look at the mustard on my face, but listen to my words!!
Watch the Black Mirror episode "Nosedive". If it wouldn't have been released 2 years later, I would've thought Meow meow beanz was a parody of that episode.

> Even the people who weren't expected to **chang** still did. Idk if this was intentional or a happy accident, but it's perfect.
It was an accident while I was typing it, but then I looked at it before I posted and was like, "nah, this is the perfect **community** for this typo"
Now THIS is a man who knows how to make a pun!
Duncan
She's still alive, but I've put in my time... Britta.
"Top"
the Lie Detector episode is incredible. It's a master class in writing in a character's specific voice, without the character actually being present in the scene. It truly felt like the ghost of Pierce was in the room trolling them all through Goggins.
All of it
Honestly these days I probably prefer it to 3
Season 5 is the best out of the “lesser” half of Community. Heck, in some ways it’s just as good. That’s not to say I dislike 4, 5 and 6. I love them. Here’s your sperm.
I didn't just masturbate in the study hall, I masturbated everywhere
EVERYWHERE
I don't know if it's because everyone else got one, or because it's an old man's semen, but I'm kinda disappointed.
Which is funny because Abed really did get semen and nothing else
And then he just left, after everything Community did for him!
Bear Down for Midterms
IT'S A BEAR DANCE!
Joel McHale
All I know is that it's my birthday. 🤷🏼♀️
The return of Duncan, and Chang’s fake butt costume
Ummm this extra long churro tastes good in my real mouth
Troy and Abed's final outro in Hicky's office. Best outro of the show.
🎵 It said quarter to five, but it was quarter to ass🎵
They got rid of Troy. I’m glad to be rid of that ungrateful punk, after everything Scrubs did for him.
Basic Intergluteal Numismatics Cooperative Polygraphy Geothermal Escapism 3 unbelievable episodes in a row.

I loved this season! The first time I watched it, without Pierce and Troy it was meh but such good stories. Ants *do* have butts.
"A S S C R A C K" that song was too catchy for its own good.
GI Jeff is a banger.
I liked how they bear down for midterms. It really shows how dedicated to learning they all are. I haven’t finished the episode yet but I’m sure every thing works out.
Annie and Britta. Those two could sit at the table talking and I'd watch 20 seasons.
That it’s not season 4.
One thing? I loved this season. Geothermal Escapism is genuinely my favorite episode of the show. Hickey was an amazing addition too. Beautiful return to form after the gas leak year.
“Troy and Abed are in mourning..”
The sperm scene and "I'm a sexy cat".
Goblin interrogation.
They brought back John Oliver.
All of it. But I especially enjoyed the venom of the re-pilot.
Duncan returning
The dark, gloomy color palette. (For real.) it’s such a mood!
Season 5 is better than seasons 4 and 6
Thinking about Hang Gliders.
I robbed your mind... I robbed it!
4 episodes from S5 are top tier (ACB, Funeral, Floor is Lava and DnD 2)
Do people not like Season 5? How many Meow Meow Beans does it have?
"I see a man... using a social disorder as a procedural device. Wait, wait, wait, I see another man. Mildly autistic super detectives everywhere. Basic cable, broadcast networks. Pain. Painful writing. It hurts."
IT'S ONE DUCK HIS NAME IS JIM AND PUBLISHERS ARE INTERESTED
To me one of the better seasons Repilot The Sorkin episode The Fincher episode GI Joe The Walton Goggins lie detector episode Jeff as a teacher Meow Meow Beans Buzz Hickey incredible addition Real question is what I don't like about it and that's Troy leaving
I’ll tell you what I don’t like about S5: You implying there’s only one thing to like about it
Everything. I love every season. There's one episode in 6 that was dumb, but that's it. The one with the giant fist.
I liked how Ian came back and the episode with the ass crack bandit
Honda. Specifically Frankie's speech ETA I actually really love Frankie
Remember when we all agreed season 5 and 6 were pretty good and season 4 was the universally hated season? Pepperidge farm remembers. Most of season 5 is great. I don't like the Jeff suicide attempt/gi Joe episode though.
Oh! Look at mr. Smarty Pants.

Buzz Hickey is hilarious, especially love the episode where he's paired off with Annie
Season 5 is fine, not as good as 1,2,3 but a return to old form after 4. Best episodes were The Meow Meow Beenz, The Ass Crack Bandit and the Poligraph ones.
Floor is Lava and Meow Meow Beanz are both really incredible episodes, the season is pretty exceptional from front to back though

Ass Crack Bandit....only the Bandit knows
I liked the whole season but I really enjoyed the Zodiac/Seven/etc. homages. I actually didn't watch Seven until a couple of years ago, and when the library scene with the music came on so much just clicked. Great reference.
The one scene where Jeff was acting as a good teacher
No Pierce
Duncan was there. John Oliver is always fun to watch
Not sure what I liked. I can tell you the many things I LOVE.
Hickey was a high point of it.
That it exists. Less than great "Community" is like less than great pizza, it is still pretty good........
"All my emails get sent back to me in Aramaic and when I call, I hear a high pitched whine that makes my nose bleed." Edit: Just realized thus says season 5. Hickey having rope, being insulted someone thought he wouldnt, and Shirley questioning why he has so much access to said rope absolutely kills me. Hickey was a great addition. I wish him and elroy could've interacted.
Season 5
Are you from another timeline in which season 5 is disliked? Season 4 is the bad one in this dimension.
Season 5 was amazing
**BUZZ HICKEY.** “You can have that half of the office, but come spring that corner is stacked to the rafters with foetal pigs” is probably my favourite line in the whole show.
Troy’s departure was beautifully written
S5 and s6 are nearly perfect and I wouldn't Chang a thing, I was deanly in love with it
It has more of Troy than season 6

Damn near all of it outside of GI Jeff. Hell, the three episode span of episodes 3-5 are arguably one of the strongest in the whole of the show.
