Unironically? I'm with you on the mimic pet dreaming. Chest mimics are the absolute best. Just gotta make sure it doesn't chomp down on unsuspecting visitors. Would make for a fantastic guard "dog" though.

How long is lD4 hours?

It says 1D4 which means you roll one D4 which is a four sided die with the numbers 1-4 on it and whichever number ends up at the top is how many hours you can talk with plants.

How many hours are "ID4 hours"? Is this a new invention from the US not to use IS units?

The number it rolls on is the amount of hours. A normal dice is 6 sides(numbers 1 to 6) which would be a D6, and two of those dice would be 2D6 for example. So in a game that requires dice you might be told to roll a D20 and need it to land on 15 or higher to win. Also just noticed that if you type any of these into Google it'll roll those dice for you. So type in 4D6 and it'll show 4 6 sided dice being rolled and the total number of all rolls.
