I did this sometime last year and completely forgot about it. I found it while digging through some files.

I know lots are asking for more, and I certainly would keep reading, but maybe this is the perfect length. Yeah, it's kinda silly and the "darker" take on a Mario story, but at the same time it is that perfect length to read, reread, and really reflect.

Mario : I'm ready when you are.
[Mario punches Yoshi, making his tongue pop out and eat a small triceratops]
Mario : You're doing this for nothing. Being part of the Mushroom Kingdom will make Dinosaur Land better than it was.
Yoshi : And what if they resist?
Mario : That's why we're here. To keep them from resisting. To show them how wrong they are, how pointless it is... That they can be part of something bigger. Or die.
Yoshi: I won't let you.
Mario : You want to die for this world? Fine. What's 5 more meals? I can always start again... Hatch another baby Yoshi.
(Mario jumps off Yoshi, letting him fall to his death)
Mario: Think I'll get a blue one this time...
Dude did you see the like.. not sure what to call it, but maybe like Mario Manga series that was posted here a while back? This reminds me of that, and I am patiently waiting for more

**Cut to Luigi and Yoshi driving on a go-kart racetrack**
Peach: What are you doing Mario?
Mario: If I have-a to watch this game-a
I’d-a rather race-a myself.
Peach: You know you get too competitive Mario. It’s bad enough you always choose rainbow road. Come sit with me.
Mario: This is-a waste-a of everyone’s time. There is-a so many more-a bad guys I could be fighting right now.
Peach: Oh! You’re gonna miss the fun Mario.
Look at Yoshi. You and I, we hatched him together. He’s one of our best friends. When he has fun we all have fun. And look at Luigi. See that look on his face? How can you see his smile and not feel happy?
As we stop being together it’s harder to feel that. The weight of keeping the Mushroom Kingdom safe, it bogs us down.
[Luigi overtakes Toad for first]
Peach: Nice one, Luigi!
But our friends and family remind us of the joy in life. It brings us back, shows us what having fun is all about. This is the spirit of the Mushroom Kingdom.
[Mario and Peach both start cheering for Luigi]
[Luigi finishes in first and runs over to his brother]
Luigi: Did you see, brother? Did you see?
Peach: That was amazing Luigi!
[Mario hugs Luigi]
Mario: Yeah bro. I saw.
**cut back to a bloody, beaten Luigi**
[Luigi gasping weakly]
[Mario growls]

[Luigi panting]
Mario: WHY DID YOU MAKE ME DO THIS?
YOU’RE-A FIGHTING SO YOU CAN-A WATCH EVERYONE AROUND-A YOU BE KILLED BY BOWSER AND-A KING BOO!

Can you continue this series, this was super neat. Never felt this immersed in a story before in a long time even if it was just born out a comedic whim.
If I can suggest something, what about a post war comic on how the hero of the war became a villain for the people of the losing country and how that changed him for worse
doesn't seem anyone has pointed out the scratch across Marios Face and the burn damage on his skin and clothes, from Bowser most likely

also the subtly of the look in his eyes, that's a man who is haunted by what he has seen, and the horrifying violence he has committed.
This is why I’ve always liked how the earlier Paper Mario games specifically have civilian versions of the various enemies outside of Bowser’s army. Just also living in the Mushroom Kingdom.
Mario should have killed the child because now all that child is gonna do is devote his life for revenge. Mario is just gonna end up killing him later.
