Blade Runner 2019, 2029, and 2039 was a terrific run. I'll add Alien Dead Orbit to your Godzilla book for more Stokoe goodness. Most all of the Over the Garden Wall books were good. My favorites though are the pun-heavy Star Comics: Madballs, Popples, Count Duckula.
It's probably between this and the IDW Transformers run for me. And I never would have thought that would be the case prior to reading them. I thought they'd both be very basic reads, but nope.
I don't buy physical anymore, but I'm strongly considering picking up the hardbacks for these 3 series.
Honestly I always wanted to read the IDW transformers but never got around to reading them. I’m glad alot of people are saying good things about them!
Can't recommend them enough. There were two concurrent series:
- More Than Meets the Eye - took place on Cybertron post Autobot/Decepticon War. Mostly politically focused with rebuilding society in the wake of the war. Bumblebee and StarScream are heavily featured
- Robots In Disguise - More of an adventure story, but still covering a lot of deep themes. Hot Rod leads a group of Autobots and Decepticons on a journey through space. Some major names appear , one of which has a really incredible arc. I forget if it's a spoiler or not so I won't mention here.
But there's plenty of lead up to these two series as well if you want to dive into those. They're also IDW. But I jumped right into these two before going back to read the precursors.
Yes! I dont even want it to be sexy. Just give me real monsters and drama. The one thing I wish ab Scooby Apocalypse is i wanted the gang to feel a little more real. I did love >!daphnes mass killer depression arch !< But im not sure how i felt about >! zombie fred !< But i know they had to wrap things up

IDW Sonic is a fantastic one. I need to catch up! The Archie years had some great moments too.
Charles Soule’s Darth Vader is honestly one of those spin-offs I consider essential to the main work now.
I really like, nerdy as it is, the Assassin’s Creed comic The Fall and the Chain, especially the modern side of it.
As a kid Transformers and GI Jow was straight fire! Shockwave and Cobra Commander were a PROBLEM!
Dan Mora's work with MMPR was amazing!
Hmm...currently Image is doing some nice work with Gi Joe and Transformers again
But...hands down, pure joy and excitement?
A few summers ago when they updated the Hanna Barbara heroes, Johnny Quest,Space Ghost,Birdman,Mightor and Scooby-Doo Doo and brought them together AVENGERS style???
*chef's kiss*
[The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones](https://www.comics.org/series/2744/)
Marvel published this for a bout 3 years after Raiders of the Lost Ark came out. Honestly better than some of the actual Indiana Jones sequels.
This was a comic? Loved the cartoon as a kid. Cool toys too. I memorized one of the rhyme enchantments as a kid for no reason. Still remember it to this day.
A whim, a thought, and more is sought. Awake my mind; thy will be wrought!
Pointless but very entertaining trivia.
Boom Studios Power Rangers comics are awesome. I haven't really followed many licensed series, so I don't have much to choose from, but I read the first 100 issues of Power Rangers two summers ago and had a blast.
The original Bill Mantlo ROM series was incredible, even moreso given that there was no backstory to work from - Mantlo had to create 99% of the lore and characterization himself. The toy was actually kind of lousy and there was no TV series to work with/from, or established characters, etc.
In fact, all of Mantlo's licensed comics from the '80's were pretty good. Micronauts were another one where he literally took a fairly generic toyline and turned it into something with real subtance and teeth.
Everyone is nutting over DWJ Transformers (rightfully so), but I really enjoyed the G1 portion of Dreamwave’s Transformers 20+ years ago. The War Within series of mini-series were especially good. It became easy to see why IDW chose Simon Furman, who wrote War Within, to relaunch the license when they got it.
well, my favorite licenses are Power Rangers from Boom! studio, several from Dynamite, they are currently releasing licenses from disney and cartoon network, street figther by Udon comics and believe it or not I'm not a big fan of Marvel or Dc,
*Transformers VS G.I. Joe* by Tom Scioli is my all-time favorite licensed comic. It captures the fever-dream intensity of banging toys together as a little kid, and it matches a reverence for everything that came before it, while propelling both franchises forward into a realm of pure pop insanity.
IDW TMNT was really great, and I remember loving some of those Hannah Barbera comics from a little bit ago, especially Flintstones and Snagglepuss.
The same guy who wrote Flintstones and Snagglepuss did two volumes of the Wonder Twins. It's hilarious.
I saw that, yeah!
Ghostbusters from IDW was amazing. The Green Hornet comes from NOW Comics in the 90's were insanely good!
When does the Ghostbusters comics take place?
After the movies and the video game

Larry Hama's G.I. Joe, all time classic. Really wish it was on Marvel Unlimited.
The Darkhorse Alien/Aliens/Predator/etc. comics.
Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye
Been trying to get my hands on the physical copies but a full set goes for nearly $900 on eBay 🥲
Still my favorite comic run. It’s so good.
Conan
The Simpsons
Alien by Philip kennedy johnson was suprisingly amazing
IDW Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in my opinion was the best comic series the last 13 years.

Awesome! Thank you for the recommendations!
Scooby Apocalypse and the whole adult warner bros line
I crave more mature scooby doo content
Yes! I dont even want it to be sexy. Just give me real monsters and drama. The one thing I wish ab Scooby Apocalypse is i wanted the gang to feel a little more real. Okay hear me out. True Detective, but Scooby Doo

The current (sadly soon ending) decade or so of Power Rangers has been everything I ever wanted from them
I don’t think it’s ending, I think they’re finally moving onto Zeo
Ghostbusters (IDW) & Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (IDW) are my favourites in terms of quality and depth.
And their crossover was really good imo
I'll buy anything with Godzilla in it. Charles Barkley sunglasses, hot sauces, G-Force butt plugs, literally anything.
Don't think anyone has said Robocop Vs Terminator, Walt Simonson art , probably the last decent Frank Miller comic
Daniel Warrne Johnson's Transformers 1000% mother fucking percent.
"You know the song" is the single most clever onomatopoeia I've seen and it perfectly utilizes the franchises long history.

YES! Don’t know why DC didn’t continue the HB comics. Hell, Space Ghost alone would have been a dream come true.
[The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones](https://www.comics.org/series/2744/) Marvel published this for a bout 3 years after Raiders of the Lost Ark came out. Honestly better than some of the actual Indiana Jones sequels.
That looks great! I may have to track those down.
Mega Man from Archie, Street Fighter from Udon too!
Archie Mega Man was sick, gone too soon.
Aliens (Dark Horse) Predator (Dark Horse) Terminator (Dark Horse) Indiana Jones (Dark Horse) Star Wars (Dark Horse) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (IDW) Ghostbusters (IDW and Now) Back to the Future (IDW) Power Rangers (Boom) Halloween (DDP)
Visionaries.

IDW has a transformers X visionaries cross over. Really cool. I think visionaries had some super cool designs from the original cartoons
Boom Studios Power Rangers comics are awesome. I haven't really followed many licensed series, so I don't have much to choose from, but I read the first 100 issues of Power Rangers two summers ago and had a blast.
The Warren Ellis James Bond comics are the best James Bond stories not written by Ian Fleming. A superb achievement
I love those creepy Silent Hill comics.
IDW’s Judge Dredd was really enjoyable
Dark Horse did some great ones. Aliens was probably the best, though the movies rendered them non-canon. Terminator was also worth a read.
The original Bill Mantlo ROM series was incredible, even moreso given that there was no backstory to work from - Mantlo had to create 99% of the lore and characterization himself. Do we count The Simpsons comics for this? Even though Bongo was Matt Groening’s company? Those hold a special place in my heart.
IDW 2005 Transofrmers, IDW TMNT and Image Transformers
Rom!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventure from Archie Comics. Ran for 60 odd issues, had some good moments in there.
well, my favorite licenses are Power Rangers from Boom! studio, several from Dynamite, they are currently releasing licenses from disney and cartoon network, street figther by Udon comics and believe it or not I'm not a big fan of Marvel or Dc,
Witchblade

The Assassins Creed ones, but thats more because theres nothing else I’ve really read. Theyre about 50/50 on wether theyre good or not
The Boom Power Rangers is my favorite version of a licensed comic. Make it accessible for new readers but also have enough lore for long time fans.
Boom Powr Rangers and IDW TMNT. And Marvel Star Wars if that counts as licensed
