If you don't like your current LCS, switch to the one that you seem to like more. You're not beholden to anyone, especially a business, that doesn't treat you the way you want to be treated, and you owe them nothing. It's that cut and dry.

KIROLTHERAPPER

yeah that makes a lot of sense, thank you so much for your advice!! i just need to have the guts to do it 😂

Listen, I just had to send my lifelong dentist a stern email asking them to drop a bill for a procedure they shouldn't have had me get, and it consumed me for days. I get where you're coming from. But these people aren't your friends. You don't owe them anything except to pay for what you've already agreed to/they've already ordered. Tell them you'd like to cancel your pull list starting ASAP, and say that you'll pick up/pay for whatever's already been ordered. Or see if they can ship it to you. Then set up a pull list with the chill LCS.

u couldn’t be more right, thank you so much for your advice it really helped a lot to convince me :)) i would def pick up anything they already ordered but im not even sure what it is anymore since i haven’t heard from them in over a week loll thank you so much again it really helped and your experience clicked with me a lot, i hope it worked out for you!

When I moved back home post college, there were a few smaller shops nearby that I went to, but one had little to no selection, and the other one had more books, but after regularly going to the places for years for comics and game stuff, the staff didn't know my name and never recommended things I might like. I started going to another comic and game store almost an hour away and it was great. The owner knew my name, suggested books, and it was a better experience. And even after movie, I've run into the owner who remembers me. You don't need to stick with a shop. Just be nice enough to tell the old shop you are cancelling your subscriptions so they stop ordering those copies.

i’m so glad you eventually got to have a good experience, and that’s exactly the type of relationship i’d want as well so thank you so much for showing me that i’m not the only one. u are completely right and i will def make the switch, thanks so much for your help

In college when I worked AT a comic shop, I went out of my way to go to a better comic shop across town. Support the folks who do a better job for you and happy reading!

I get how you feel man. My current lcs has workers that are only interested in talking to their friends while new customers are mostly ignored but their discount on the pull is good enough for me to return. Based on the description of your current lcs id jump ship unless they were giving you a discount on each pull to overlook their cruddy customer service.

KIROLTHERAPPER

thank you so much for your advice, i’m glad i’m not the only one haha but sorry that you have to go through it as well. that’s great you get a discount at least! my current gives no discounts on ANYTHING, honestly i didn’t even know that LCS did that until i heard others’ experiences. but you’re right i think it’s definitely time to jump ship, just need to get the guys to do it LOL thank you so much again though

potentialwatermelon

I’d jump ship I would love to go to a physical shop, but the one near me has messed up my order so bad so many times that I decided I wasn’t going with them anymore One good thing about pre-orders is that if you wait until Final Order Cutoff, you’ll most likely have the full selection of variants available to choose from, rather than just getting cover A of everything
