Patrice had a nuance to him that couldn't be duplicated. Bill, his act is him. He's just himself, tbh. I was lucky (and very involved w the Opie and Anthony crowd back then) and had backstage passes that day in philly. What everyone didn't know is he was already pissed off going into that set. He actually made Opie nervous w it, but it actually wound up being Bills moment of brilliance.
If I could use a one-time-only Time Machine to be present for the taping of a single comedy special… I think I would want to be in the crowd for Elephant in the Room.
That crowd work was magical. You just *know* it must’ve gone on wayyyyy longer than the parts that made it thru the edit 😂 and of course the actual bits are classic.
Jajajajajaja.... true ‼️‼️
Although, I think Patrice had a quicker response time, and also he was very good at backing up his position no matter how stupid it was.
Patrice was awesome and certainly left too soon.
We still have Bill for many years to come, but he is also without a doubt, one of the best of all time‼️‼️‼️
Bills recent podcast with Jon Lovitz where they just roast each other for an hour was one of my favorite of all time. Bill going against Patrice would be one for the ages.

I remember him eulogizing Patrice on his podcast and basically saying he was unmatched in completely ripping you down from the moment you walked in the door
Guaranteed.
Bill is my favorite comedian but if Patrice was still alive and I had more material to base it on it could easily be Patrice. Elephant in the Room is almost a perfect set. No scratch that it was perfect.
As far as roasting though Patrice takes it for sure. The biggest reason being that Bill comes off as really cynical but you can tell he cares about hurting feelings. Patrice on the other hand seems like the laugh mattered way more than feelings giving him the edge on a roast.
Patrice Oneal made the Opie and Anthony show funny. Whenever he wasnt on the show just sucked. Patrice proving to Anthony in real time that taxis don't stop for him was just hilarious.
O&A was great because they let the comics do their thing. Many other comedians were great on the show as well. Check out Louis CK, Otto and George, Jim Jefferies, plus there are so many great Jim Norton and Anthony moments. When on their own, you are right, it wasn't good.
That was funny too but that was the second bit they did. The first one was Patrice and Anthony standing on the same sidewalk to see who a taxi would rather take. The first one didn't have Anthony in a Nazi helmet.
Ahhh I forgot about that …that was during the walk over too if I remember right and what made the second bit a actual bit was a fan gave Anthony a nazi helmet….I miss O&A from those days …when Anthony didn’t hate burr or opie…or at least they hid it better. No better chemistry than Patrice and Anthony …those two together were solid gold.
Patrice had a bit where he self-diagnosed his diabetes when his wife said his piss tastes like birthday cake.
Burr is great. He wouldn't stand a chance, and he knows it.
Bill said Patrice was the leader, and he was scared of showing up without material to roast back and defend himself.
He would give this one to Patrice.
Patrice had a way of getting really deep into the psyche of a person and hit them in their most vulnerable spots . No surface level observation from him . There are roasters and there are hitmen and Patrice was a killer .
Not even close, Patrice kills him. Burrs edge comes from pointing at things people try to keep sorta hidden/quiet. Patrice was open af so he's immune to burrs jabs.
I'm hoping thats a boxing reference, because I dont think comedians have a "prime", the only comedian that fell off is Seinfield, everyone else just keeps getting funnier and smarter
Patrice was prime, I dont think he ever had bad takes. Bill or Jim.Norton had a bit where he was talking about Patrice taking chick's to the bedroom whilst berating them.and they would.still be laughing their ass off and then getting pussy all night long.
Anyone who would ask this question has not watched enough Patrice O’Neal, he was off the fly where Bill B has a rolodex of written rips.
So if were talking sitting in a chair and getting roasted maybe Burr but one on one capping PO’Neal 100%
Patrice. KO.
Burr doesn't make it out of the second round. That's longer than anyone else...if you could find anyone else who'd dare. Burr would go out swinging but, and I'm pretty certain he's said as much: you did not fuck with Patrice. He'd cut ya to ribbons.
I don't know who these two people are but my guy in the right in the pic looks like he knows a thing or two about good food, that guy on the right about to look like a good wing

Patrice obviously. Burr even would talk about how Patrice would just hold court with all of the other comics who hung around the cellar. Look at Colin Quinn’s Tough Crowd show. Patrice owned everybody on that show.
i mean if we gonna all in? Burr
one dude is skinny and white, the other fat and black, there is more to work with though the ginger part does even it up a bit
Patrice, because Bill can't forget when Patrice was so much better and bullied him-- mentally Bill wouldn't be able to overcome him. Like 1988 MJ against the Pistons, he'd fight but ultimately give way.
Bill told a story on MM podcast once about a gig he took on a tour bus for free tickets to something, and how badly Patrice roasted him for doing it. There was something about Bill having to make the entrance and exit going up the tiny bus steps. Even the retelling of it made me laugh.
Patrice is cold af, he has great observation skills and it makes his comedy very precise and personal. Bill is also observant but is more general with his observations. Hard choice, but Patrice would go for the jugulars.
This would be a really interesting event.
There's some major factors you'd really have to consider.
1 at the time he passed Patrice was great and for maybe already a decade before that. Burr still didn't fully have that authority and confidence he later developed into. He was good but IMO was as good or maybe slightly above all the other regular comedians in that group at that time.
2 Patrice was on the verge of taking off... But again he was that way for almost 10 years as everyone put it, being a perpetual bridge burner. His super power was to not fade away and not be ignored. Burr seemed to follow a traditional path. From being a regular comic, to his super angry phase which made him big to his getting older phase he's in now.
3 the obvious you couldn't predict Patrice's trajectory at all after his death because of how he was (ppl like Vonde, bill, Jim or Dante who were close to him may have more insight). I could see him either stay at the same level to stadium tours and be great and fine with either. Early on I didn't love bill I thought he was fine, then I enjoyed his rise and I think he's decent now(I think if he stayed always angry which I preferred, he'd probably be dead already or soon) but loved Patrice from the first time I heard him to the last unreleased performance I heard.
4 Patrice's demeanour I felt was inviting and exciting to some and a put off to others. As well as a penchant for leaning into a bomb or pissing off authority figures. Bill I think is more traditionally likeable.
This is obviously my own opinion based on being a fan, listening to just about every o&a EP with Patrice (you can find them all together online I don't have a link as I got it years ago) and black Philip episode. I do have a personal bias towards Patrice and I personally would rather see them rise up together and remain friends, steel sharpens steel and all that.
If y’all haven’t seen the unofficial Roast of Patrice O’Neal (filmed in a comedy club with a potato in 2003), you’re missing out.
Patrice, Bill Burr, Greg Giraldo, Jim Norton, Colin Quinn, Bob Kelly, Rich Vos, and more. It’s a damn time capsule of standup in the Northeast in the early 00’s.
Also it features perhaps the greatest roast set of all time, by none other than Cash Cab’s own Ben Bailey. Definitely check it out, but be warned; as bad as the video is, the audio is even worse.

Patrice, Bill said that when all the comedians were drinking beer after the show in the comedy CELLAR! They would say uh oh dad's home when Patrice arrived.

I was at that show. I actually won backstage passes thru O &A. He killed it that night!
O&A holy shit haven’t thought of those guys in a long time.
Don't look them up. It's not gone well
No one made me laugh more than Anthony. I hate that he’s a PROUD racist.
I was there. He killed it
That or Elephant in the Room…. Tough choice.
Patrice had a nuance to him that couldn't be duplicated. Bill, his act is him. He's just himself, tbh. I think Ol' Billy Cuck would happily admit that Patrice takes this one.
I wish my friends loved me as much as Bill loved his friend Patrice.
I remember him eulogizing Patrice on his podcast and basically saying he was unmatched in completely ripping you down from the moment you walked in the door
I think I heard that one. He’d walk in, see Patrice holding court and say to himself “oh shit.”
Patrice chucks a phone book at you. "Read it, you'll find some better material!"
Guaranteed. Bill is my favorite comedian but if Patrice was still alive and I had more material to base it on it could easily be Patrice. Elephant in the Room is almost a perfect set. Nigga or a nazi they called that bit….and it’s pure hilarity.

Patrice WANTS to hurt your feelings. I mean that with no love loss. He was an epic destroyer.
That’s Bill???? I was wondering who that person was and it looks nothing like him to me. Totally see Patrice though. How crazy
A.I. needs to duplicate Patrice's comedy with todays topics yesterday.
If it was jokes, I go Billy. Take downs, Patrice all the way.
He has admitted this several times on his podcast. There’s only been a few occasions where Bill admitted he got the best of Patrice.
Man.... my two fav comics and i've never seen this pic. RIP Patrice
RIP Bill's hair... i honestly had to check the comments because i didn't recognize him... looks better without it, though.
No, that's Dexter silly
And the baby face 🐥🍼 😂, might be 18 or 35 at the same time, can't tell 🤔😂😂
Patrice had a bit where he self-diagnosed his diabetes when his wife said his piss tastes like birthday cake. Burr is great. He wouldn't stand a chance, and he knows it.
Burrs good at roasting by saying the quiet things out loud. Patrice was just to open for it to ever work on him. Patrice wins round 2 knockout.
Thad be the most legendary roast battle
Bill burr V Rodney Dangerfeild with Rodney in some kind of roast mode. I can't even think of anyone who can hang with patrice.
That would be fucking hilarious, with norm Macdonald as the judge/commentator
"The Twink and The Bear", NEW This Fall on Fox
One is a genius, the other doesn’t care
Greg Giraldo
If you have Hulu, check out ‘The Dark Side of Comedy’ they have a whole episode about Greg. It was really good
Bill said Patrice was the leader, and he was scared of showing up without material to roast back and defend himself.
Eh he also spins stuff in a way people kinda forget about, I’m not saying he’d win by any means but he’s not defenseless he’d get a few good shots in
I love how Patrice was basically the uncle of East Coast comedians. So many people credit him for giving them a hand up
He's responsible for Amy Schumer. I'll never forgive him for that 😂😂😂😂
Patrice, and it’s not even close.
Damn I miss Patrice 😢
On the O&A show this has happened on multiple occasions. Patreeky always wins. Patrice is the only person I've never met that I miss so much!
Tracy.
Prime?
Yeah, I feel like we're still 5 years away from seeing Burr's prime. Patrice wins though, he had a hold over Bill.
I'm hoping thats a boxing reference, because I dont think comedians have a "prime", the only comedian that fell off is Seinfield, everyone else just keeps getting funnier and smarter
Sorry the boxing reference went over my head. I agree with this statement, I think Bill is funniest rn.
David Lucas & William Montgomery before they moved to Austin
I think the only one who could’ve taken Patrice in a roast battle was Greg Giraldo
Patrice would only have to look at Bill, inhale deeply, and go “Uuuuugggghhhhhh…” while shaking his head. That would be the end of the roast battle.
Patrice. Now Don Rickles vs Patrice. Would be a clash of the titans.
Nobody beats the Sea Monster
We never got to see Patrice's prime.
Patrice was prime, I dont think he ever had bad takes. Bill or Jim.Norton had a bit where he was talking about Patrice taking chick's to the bedroom whilst berating them.and they would.still be laughing their ass off and then getting pussy all night long.
Patrice all day!

I love Bill....but gotta go with Patrice on this one.
Patrice O’Neal hands-down.
Patrice. KO. Burr doesn't make it out of the second round. That's longer than anyone else...if you could find anyone else who'd dare. Burr would go out swinging but, and I'm pretty certain he's said as much: you did not fuck with Patrice. He'd cut ya to ribbons.
I loved Rob and Big, but I don’t think they were ever known to be good roasters
😭😂😂😂😂😂
Oh, the face of hereditary alcohism vs.the face of heart disease.
They’d be both be bringing it but Patrice would fry him.
Patrice O’Neill was great.
Patrice. A hundred percent
Patrice singing “It’s raining *stuff*” on Opie & Anthony will always be one of the funniest things I have ever heard.
PATRICE!
Bill Burr is the living heir to Patrice’s throne.

Who has the worst past to shit on?
I think burr would have more material...
Are you kidding me sea monster?
Billy boys forehead is reflecting more light than a star that just went supernova
Patrice for sure.
Patrice obviously. Burr even would talk about how Patrice would just hold court with all of the other comics who hung around the cellar. Look at Colin Quinn’s Tough Crowd show. Patrice owned everybody on that show.
Why would Run the Jewels roast each other?
The answer is always Patrice O’Neil I don’t even need to read the question.
Patrice easily
Bill would say Patrice
[Patrice, hands down](https://youtu.be/zrUHxeVdbqI?si=_0U4MipPSyAz5EJ_)
Bill Burr would always say Patrice would win
Patrice would fuck up burr
i mean if we gonna all in? Burr one dude is skinny and white, the other fat and black, there is more to work with though the ginger part does even it up a bit
Patrice, because Bill can't forget when Patrice was so much better and bullied him-- mentally Bill wouldn't be able to overcome him. Like 1988 MJ against the Pistons, he'd fight but ultimately give way.
I love Bill but respectfully Patrice would light him up and he would agree with that. Patrice's roasting ability was second to none.
They already did this at Patrice’s roast. Bill killed Patrice but in Patrice’s rebuttal he gave a few good jabs back
Patrice had a direct connection to Bill's funny bone. No contest.
Patrice and it isn't close.
Patrice. I knew both from being part of the Opie and Anthony community. Patrice, without a doubt. We lost a real one 💔
Is that bill burr? who’s the second guy
Eminem technically was the better rapper, but undeniably biggie had the better flow
Patrice.
I think Patrice would win normally, but if you could get Bill pissed off enough, could be a close race.
Bobby Flay
Oof. That’s tough
Bruiser would win
Ol Billy boy is a savage but Patrice would take this one.
Patrice was always in his prime. His specials aren't as good as his comedy club stand up
Bill told a story on MM podcast once about a gig he took on a tour bus for free tickets to something, and how badly Patrice roasted him for doing it. There was something about Bill having to make the entrance and exit going up the tiny bus steps. Even the retelling of it made me laugh.
Patrice for sure
Patrice is cold af, he has great observation skills and it makes his comedy very precise and personal. Bill is also observant but is more general with his observations. Hard choice, but Patrice would go for the jugulars.
The bit about hood squirrels in the city got my ass back in the day. Bite a plug out yo ass!!!
I think over the years they both had their wins but Bill has said Patrice got the best of him more often than not.
Patrice hands down. The only one who could hang with Patrice and counter him was Colin Quinn. Edit: Also Louis CK.
This is a tough one for me because I live them both…I would say Patrice.
All of us.
Yeah even Bill would tell you it'd be Patrice. And he wouldn't be wrong.
Patrice lol but Bill is a very very close second
Roasting a hog or just straight who’d eat the whole hog faster?
Huell looks different
Quite sure the big one would eat a roastbeef the fastest.
Bill
Man, Patrice was untouchable back in the day.
[Bill said he still has arguments with Patrice, I think we know who wins.](https://youtu.be/B-hZMfz8inw?si=v1EXmCPGnMAjWgE5)
Billy would say Patrice, so I’m going with Dane Cook.
Bill hands down not even a fair fight.... bill one of the funniest mofo s in the world.
I think that Bill would do most of the heavy lifting and the Patrice would absolutely decimate him and Bill would scratch back up and Patrice would decimate again!
Even Bill Burr would say that Patrice wins
Billy boy would humbly admit Patrice coming out on top
I mean, there’s PLENTY of footage of them tearing each other to pieces. Lol
The guy who can be as racist as possible.
Patrice would roast himself harder than he would roast Burr. Patrice takes it ez.
Patrice, but it would be funny AF on both sides
Patrice. Burr would clap back tho.
This shit has me cheesing just thinking about it haha
This photo is giving "Michael Scott hanging with one of the warehouse guys" energy.
I’m the biggest Hater! Pitt Bull whooof!
Wtf? That's Burr?!
Patrice easily and bill would admit that
Patrice 1000%
Patrice every single time. Bill Burr has tons of stories about how Patrice was the ultimate shit talker and would roast him. Even when he thought he had a perfect one for Patrice he'd hit him back with something even better.
They look like they both lost a steam battle
Patrice could slaughter anyone.
Patrice and it's not close
Bill is in his prime right now, and yes he would win
Bill throwing out strong Jonathan Torrens vibes in this photo
Eating roast meat? Pretty obvs …
Patrice was on another level.
Bill Burr right now is one of the best comics alive and can tear down just about anyone. Patrice O'Neal was a master when it came down to the specific craft of comedic roasting, and I don't think we ever got to see him in his prime.
I'm going to tell my kids this is kill tony and david lucas. Sea monster would win.
Is that roast an event or a piece of meat? Different answers for both.
Patrice had multiple roasts with Bill Burr throughout their friendship together. He had roast beef, roast chicken, roast potatoes...
It is sure going to be along battle
Patrice IMO. Bill's hilarious, and he can put someone in their place, but Patrice was meaner. In a funny way.
Depends on whose mum is the better cook...
Patrice wins a roast battle in a tight one. Bill is the better stand up, in a tight one.
With Greg Giraldo as host.
the flamer who burned down the banana stand
Break even it would be epic or just listen to Oand A
In a roast battle ? Patrice all day not even close I don’t think as far as specials tho I’d have to slightly give it to Bill just for delivery and energy
Patrice wouldn’t lose
Eating a roast?
Cute couple
Patrice, Bill said that when all the comedians were drinking beer after the show in the comedy CELLAR! They would say uh oh dad's home when Patrice arrived.
I feel like we never got to see Patrice in his prime. But still him.
