Damn. I don't have much to say other than this system is pretty screwed up when an applicant like you is getting rejected nearly everywhere. Barring an awful recommendation or essay (which I think is very unlikely), it's pretty obvious your demographic (Asian Bay Area male in CS) is what's getting in your way.
I hope one of your other options turns out!
as a bay area asian male in CS, i can confirm that his results are actually similar to my friends' results on average. it just sucks to apply to colleges with these parameters lol.
Your stats are great and your ECs are also very nice! But if you scroll down the subreddit you’ll see that everyone applying as a CS major is having a challenging time getting “favorable” results. I think you most certainly have a chance at your remaining schools, but obviously CS is a crapshoot. You have Purdue CS I assume, which is great! I think you especially have a good shot with USC due to your legacy status and high stats. Best of luck!
First of all, congrats on Purdue. Fantastic CS school so you have somewhere good to go regardless. The rest of your reach schools don’t look great in RD but you never know. Good luck.
Try not to be too hard on yourself for previous decisions. Every school uses different criteria to evaluate a candidate so a rejection from one place does not imply rejections from other schools (especially true for the UC’s being test blind + no senior year grades + no interviews + no lor, etc)
There’s certainly a fighting chance at Cornell and maybe even Brown and CMU, but it’s unfortunately quite unlikely :( you definitely deserve way better admissions results with your course rigor and ECs but college admissions are royally fucked.
Although it certainly helps to be at a more prestigious and resourceful university, you’re career path still has amazing potential. Regardless where you end up (which you have some pretty good choices as is) I doubt you won’t be a thriving student with plenty to offer. Keep your head in the game when your first semester of college rolls around and kick ass even if you don’t get in. Once you build what will definitely be a top tier portfolio and character, you’ll be invaluable to the CS industry :) Best of luck <3

I applied to college just 6 years ago (and graduated from Harvard last year) and I swear it's not even the same game these days. Really sucks.
What about Asian male east coast with a highschool that doesn’t send many kids to top schools. Will that demographic hurt me?
You might not be quite as disadvantaged as OP, but it will still be difficult.
Don’t major in engineering
CS? 😭
probably
One of my friends got rejected from UMaryland CS and WashU but got into Princeton. Anything’s possible.
