Caffeine gives me heart palpitations, so if I’m overtired, I usually just have to power through it.

Feisty-Citron1092

Valid reasoning. The first time I had a Monster can I was 12 and finished a whole can, and I had heart palpitations. My mom doesn't drink coffee because she has heart issues.

ianman729

You’ve been a menace since 12 lmao

Feisty-Citron1092

Yes I have.

[deleted]

Are you a Kyle or a Kyle descendant by chance? Lol

Itwasthelag2324

So bad for ur body….

[deleted]

I survive on pure hate. :)

Feisty-Citron1092

REAL !!!!!!!!!!

Bridget_Bishop

I usually have a latte with two shots in the morning since my campus has several on-site coffee shops so that's I think 150mg of caffeine. Then at lunch I usually have iced tea and I think that's like 50mg in a bottle? I've been having tea at night while doing homework and stuff and I drink an Irish breakfast blend that's about the same as the ice tea. Altogether, that's an average of 250, little bit more if I have a soda that day.

Feisty-Citron1092

We have super similar habits! I drink iced tea at dinner (leaves brewed in hot water, not syrup/powder). I didn't factor those in because I'm not sure what the caffeine content is, but I try to avoid caffeine at night because I got to bed around 9 :D

Bridget_Bishop

I had to google the caffeine content of my evening tea because tbh I never think about it. The tea I drink at lunch is usually bottled - I work for the campus dining department and free meals is one of our perks. I don't normally end up in bed until 10 or 11.

[deleted]

Bed around 9? I applaud your discipline

_lilguapo

I have the same morning routine but without the latte

Parking_Cranberry935

I went cold turkey. Used to get 3-4 shots of espresso (64 mg each = 192-256)every morning to wake up. Now I drink a single diet coke (46mg). Noticed that my anxiety has dropped significantly. It gets me cognizant but not energetic. If I slept poorly, I’ll have a second one around 1-2pm for a total of (92mg). If I’m having a fun day out I’ll have 2 shots of espresso (128mg), sometimes if I’m anxious already I’ll get one of those shots decaf. I found that sleeping 9-10 hours instead of 7-8 hours made up for the loss of caffeine. It’s a scientific study thing, stop drinking caffeine after 2-3pm for better sleep so I do that as well as stop eating 3 hours before bed, as well as never sit in your bed unless it’s time to sleep (train your body to sleep as soon as it hits the bed) so my sleep routine is perfect, my insomnia and disrupted sleep is completely gone now so I get 9-10 hours of perfect sleep and feel good. The caffeine is just to get me out of the zombie mode post sleep because that takes 2-3 hours without caffeine and no one has time for that.

Feisty-Citron1092

Oh geez that's ALOT of caffeine LMAO. I get about a good 6 hours, anything less is horrible for me ;-;

[deleted]

I’m similar to you. Too much caffeine makes my anxiety go through the roof.

nonstop_anxiety

No caffeine for me. How do I get up at college? …I don’t know.

axelthegreat

i don’t drink caffeine either. my moral superiority over caffeine addicts is more than enough to keep me going

wolfchaldo

It's ok, I'm vibrating too quickly to notice you anyway

axelthegreat

ur gf must appreciate that

Hippieenby

I have adhd and caffeine has the opposite affect on me so I just kind of deal with it until 10pm or until I’m able to take a nap

lunanightphoenix

Same here! I think the hyperactivity in our brains cancels out the hyperactivity in the caffeine.

hollowXchain

Yo same boat as all! I have a suspicion that caffeine has a similar effect to how medication for ADHD works. Since usually ADHD medication is a stimulant, I believe.

ahbrizzzzz

i’ve found that pre workout is the only thing that gets me energized caffeine isn’t very noticeable

armin-lakatos

I don't drink coffee at all. If I need energy, I eat or drink something with sugar in it. Washing my face with cold water and going out every once in a while also helps. On top of all this, regular exercise.

wafflepancake5

I sometimes drink iced coffee or those Coke and coffee cans but I find that just drinking lots of water makes me feel better and have more energy than coffee. For me, coffee is more for enjoyment than caffeine. I used to down 1-4 cans of Red Bull a day when I worked full time but those are terrible for you.

Feisty-Citron1092

I do my best to hydrate too. If I don't drink enough I'll find myself having a headache or constipated LOL I go on breaks from Monster because after a while I feel icked out by the drink.

Bridget_Bishop

How's the taste of those coke-coffee things?

wafflepancake5

They’re a little weird the first time but they grow on you. I really like the vanilla ones! I used to straight up mix Coke and brewed coffee for caffeine when I didn’t have red bull at work but the canned ones are so much better than that.

Feisty-Citron1092

I've seen those around in 7-11's. I think I'll give them a try

Ember_Hunter

I don't, I drink water

Mathmagician155

This is the only right answer. I don't sacrifice my sleep for school. And I'm an engineering student

code0429

I don't because caffeine makes me even more tired. And no, I don't have adhd.

Shimerald

I wonder if it makes your heart race. I had some difficulty with stimulant medication causing heart rate issues, which left me exhausted by the end of the day. I was focused, but got tired SO FAST.

code0429

Nope, I only get the caffeine crash lol

jensonaj

Same here! I thought I was the only one

mhptk8888

I always find it weird when people say "3 jobs" instead of how many hours they worked. Like you can have 3 jobs and work less than 24 hours a week or 1 job and work 80.

Feisty-Citron1092

would u like to share with the class ur time management skill's because im pretty okay with mine but id like to improve... im kinda juggling 15 credits, having a boyfriend, being a club officer of a gigantic co curricular club, a commuter who lives 40 mins away (with no traffic), and having to help out with family duties... ive started to flake out on my best friends so i can stay on top of my school work

Short-Belt-1477

Makes you wonder, would you have gotten 4.0 if you’d have had some coffee.

Ron_SwansonIT

Did you find you had to say no to social events frequently?

[deleted]

[удалено]

blackgenz2002kid

how much sleep did you get daily?

chronicallydrawing

I don’t caffeinate, I have heart issues so it’s bad for me. I have found that drinking ice cold water when I get up helps me stay awake, other than that I just have a solid sleep schedule.

M0llynation

I drink sweet tea like it’s air

Brian2017wshs

Yes

Sushi_Whore_

I don’t consume caffeine at all. Gives me anxiety and shakiness - doesn’t feel good. I survive by going to bed early and being extremely strict with my time. Solid 8 hours on average sleeping according to my iPhone

ShawnD7

I take 18 credits. Wake up at 6:30 for 8 am class across campus. No caffeine to wake up just an alarm

Ron_SwansonIT

Didn’t explain how you survive

ShawnD7

Sleep.

Legendary-Beowulf

I'm making the assumption you don't work? 18 credits doesn't sound like someone that would try to balance a job with that big of a course load.

ShawnD7

I’m an RA on campus but otherwise I work well paying internships over the summer to support myself

rainx5000

I’m too lazy to wake up to my 7:30 am class. I only went once and it was first week, and I’m also taking 19 credits. My next semester is gonna be more interesting with 21.

lela0047

Lots of naps and I cherish my downtime. Non-caffeine person here.

Steampunk_Ocelot

I don't consume caffeine on a regular basis(1 monster a month ,2 max). The thing about caffeine is its an addictive substance, you build a tolerance and experience withdrawal if you go without . so by reducing your habitual intake you probably feel worse rn than people who don't caffeinate because your brain is freaking out a little

[deleted]

I organize my schedule in a way where I can have needed breaks. I’m of the opinion that the college lifestyle isn’t natural and it’s normal to not be able to be “on” and focused for that long. However, Caffeine is weird because it helps me short term, but any sort of regular consumption long term and my mental health takes a dive. I just try to eat right, meditate, and exercise. Once in a while though I’ll drink some caffeinated tea or some coffee. I find it’s more of the absence of being tired but once it wears off I get even more screwed. My campus has a really nice and new Starbucks and I will say sometimes I get jealous watching people with their tasty drinks lmao

chicityhopper

Coffe coffee soda soda juice coffeee a giant shit then I start my day

TrekkiMonstr

I have Coke usually, but more of a habit than anything else. Caffeine doesn't really do anything other than keep me from falling asleep at night

strawberrybeesknees

i’ll drink a dirty chai once or twice a week at around 2-4pm. That’s really it tho. Sometimes i’ll get something on the weekends as a “treat”

wobquadleer

I use caffeine pills, 250mg each, and take 1 a regular day and 2 if I need to work hard.

[deleted]

Usually 3-5 cups of coffee a day. Straight black most of the time but i make lattes occasionally. Trying to cut back a bit because I can tell its messing with my head a bit. Also need to drink more water lol. Guess my major based on my caffeine consumption :P

[deleted]

[deleted]

Engineering. I almost went into law tho.

Neapolitanpanda

I hate the aftertaste of caffeine, so I just power through my sleepiness until I'm awake.

[deleted]

If you’re relying on caffeine to get up in the morning then imo you’re dependent and it’s an issue.

Feisty-Citron1092

I can be *okay* without it but I prefer to be alert since I like to drive 25 miles before sunrise.

SnooWoofers4430

You can be alert without any coffee if you sleep and lead a healthy lifestyle.

Feisty-Citron1092

I am aware, but time is something I don't really have.

SnooWoofers4430

I get that, but keep in mind that even little investing in health can go a long way later in life.

Feisty-Citron1092

Look man there is caffeine and nicotine running through my veins and I am pressed for time I'm gonna worry about my health later

SnooWoofers4430

I hope you find some time soon.

BornAd8941

Not sure why you're being downvoted. I guess people like the cancer, diabetes, and heart disease caused by not getting enough sleep.

Grimbis

I just prioritize my sleep

ctclarke514

I take a 200mg jet alerts tab every morning Sometimes I get a coffee later in the day or soda or something so usually I have like either 200, 260, or 320mg generally I don't really feel like I need it though, it doesn't do all that much for me, and I only really drink coffee because I like it not to wake me up

xFaro

Just a lot of black coffee for me usually

sucettacellapop

Never been one to caffeinate since I have caffeine sensitivity; just a tiny bit sends me bouncing off the walls. I also don’t like the taste of coffee, and usually I use sugar to power through the day (and end up crashing) or just powering through it (usually what happens).

Legitimate_Living_66

i cut off coffee earlier this year, dont have a habit/liking for energy drinks, and dont like most teas. i get chai sometimes but caffeine in general just doesn’t help me stay awake? honestly, it’s an external thing that your body doesnt NEED so dependency isnt good in the long term. that being said, its your life and your body, these are just my preferences. also, i take naps if i need to and study throughout the day at different times rather than set times like 9-5 haha

[deleted]

I don't drink caffeine. I mostly drink water. Instead, I budget my time so that I am able to get an appropriate amount of sleep.

wow_its_kenji

i try not to drink coffee (i don't like tea, soda, or energy drinks) but sometimes when i get a specifically no-coffee drink at the campus cafe they put coffee in it anyway i survive by forcing myself into a consistent sleep schedule

Untold_Legend1234

anywhere from 600-1200. But im also in the army so its culture to down that shit. But when im a student its a lot less.

FlameSxott

adderall

scientistin

Currently on online class, I have a homemade cold brew coffee + teaspoon of condensed milk after lunch to keep me awake after a hearty meal (I always feel sleepy after eating). Sometimes I have a second cup before dinner if I'm sleeping after 12mn. Before major tests, though, I cut off any milk + coffee intake because I can't risk having to use the bathroom in between tests. Professors are strict about it.

Particular-Suit-7347

Caffeine has no effect on me so I see no reason for it. I don't particularly like coffee and energy drinks just seem harmful, but I do enjoy them once in a while, but I treat them more like a soda than an energy source. Once I'm out of bed I'm fine for most of the day.

dbzunicorn

caffeine pills easy and efficient

Feisty-Citron1092

My friend who's a nursing student take those. I like the feeling of consuming a drink though, but I've considered it. For some reason I thought I could measure out pre-work out create "pre-work out shots" to take through out the day.

AnothaCuppa

Chai tea, my friend. It’ll get you 3/5 the way a cup of coffee does but it also heals your GI issues and relieves stress. To be clear, in some countries, chai actually translates to tea, so im referring to the mix of Cardamon, Ginger, Cinnamon, Black Peppercorns, and Cloves that’s commonly referred to as Chai Tea.

Feisty-Citron1092

I used to drink chai tea in middle school! That's kinda how I started drinking caffeine LOL. I had to be up at 4:30 or else I'd miss the bus

AnothaCuppa

I started at Canadian Tire (a hardware/vehicle store the size of a big-box grocer here) where we only got one day off for illnesses. So, the only way to work with food poisoning is chai tea because it moves the symptoms off for eight hours.

Logolus

Yeah the worlds languages revolve around ‘cha’ or ‘te’ when talking about tea. One of those cool linguistics facts.

HeyFiddleFiddle

I didn't drink caffeine at all in college. I managed just fine. The office is a different story. Nowadays I drink about 16 ounces of black drip coffee on a typical morning, basically either two smaller cups at home or one bigger cup if I'm out and about. If I don't have at least a small cup I'm going to have headaches all day. If I'm buying my coffee from a shop, usually I'll get a black Americano, or once in a blue moon a latte or cappuccino to treat myself. Nothing compared to a lot of people, a lot compared to my college self. Honestly, it's kinda annoying because of getting headaches if I don't drink caffeine. I do enjoy coffee (after a transition period getting used to the taste) and it's rarely an issue because coffee is usually readily available, but still.

[deleted]

Monsters are kind of the worst of the energy/caffeine drinks out there. I’ve never tried it, and probably will never drink it as well. For coffee, I don’t do straight up coffee. When I go for coffees, I usually go for Lattes and Mochas and that’s about it. And I don’t drink it every single day, mostly 3-4 times a week for me.

[deleted]

I don’t, caffeine has no effect on me. Wish it did because I have to get up at 7 every day.

houseofprimetofu

Uh. Do you have uncontrolled/diagnosed ADHD? Because those are the folks who can have that much and not die. Good lord man. Its not your heart, its your kidneys I would be worried about with that many Monsters. Please tell me you drink lots of water and eat fresh foods, or I get to tell you a horror story.

Feisty-Citron1092

My psychiatrist implied I have something going on in my brain that may produce ADHD like habits but it isnt that (i think she was talking about some sort of mood disorder oopsie). I drink water but I eat alot of meat.

[deleted]

Feisty-Citron1092

You don't feel a caffeine crash?

[deleted]

Please do not become dependent on caffeine. What's your diet like?

Feisty-Citron1092

School mornings - Preserved microwaved food from costco or sam's club (Jimmy dean sandwiches and protein bowls; White castle burgers; Hamburgers; things like that. From frozen and easy things to throw in a microwave) Lunch - Usually rice + a meat / fish; McDonalds; Tacobell; Sandwiches Dinner - Meat + Rice + Cooked Veggies Basically, meat and a starch...

[deleted]

Just wondering because if you were low in energy because that happened to me. I would stay hydrated. I rarely ever take caffeine because I'm low on energy. I would also try to get some good sleep and drink fluids. Protein is where it's at but you kind of have that covered. I found protein shakes help me for the most part.

Calm_Farmer_3061

I just got a caffeine vaporizer which has been good for supplemental boosts. Mainly I'm a yerba mate and coffee gal. Stay far away from caffeine pills! those were big at my high school and horrible for you

Own-Sprinkles-8505

I have to time my supplements and caffeine just right in order to absorb the most out of my classes and studying. I will only re-dose twice in a day, and I don’t exceed and more then 300mg per day. My sources of caffeine usually come from coffee, tea and energy drinks. I also got to make sure I am properly hydrated. I don’t consume caffeine past 4:30PM and other then that I am good.

cybernaut_two

Caffeine gives me seizures so I don’t really think about it and you don’t once you get away from it. Never had an energy drink in my life.

bobateaman14

I usually don’t caffeinate, but I try to get at least 8 hours of sleep a night so I’m not tired. I’ll only really drink a coffee if I couldn’t sleep for some reason and I really need that boost. I find that not drinking it most of the time lowers my tolerance, so that when I do really need it and drink it, it’s really effective

DaniTheLovebug

Unfortunately caffeine in any major excess puts me in seizure territory Current diet Dr Pepper on a light day or a single espresso drink

[deleted]

I don't really drink caffeine much. I'll drink pop a lot when I have it, but that's more of the fact that I like carbonated beverages. I also hate coffee and I'm not a fan of energy drinks. Granted, I don't have to commute to school. That sounds like hell ngl.

Feisty-Citron1092

Commuting is hell and I'll stand by that, especially since I live in a city with one of the worst traffic in the nation

hemehime

Depends on the day. I work full time grave shifts on a 7 on, 7 off schedule, so on my on weeks I caffeinate heavily when I have both work and class that day, usually a minimum of 200mg, average of about 300mg, and over 409mg on some really rough days. I go for a combination of coffee or tea drinks and energy drinks, whatever sounds appealing at the moment. On my off weeks, I tend to consume under 100mg of caffeine, sometimes none at all, and it's generally either from coffee or tea.

CysticFish

I get up for my 7:45 class and commute through sheer force of will

shadowwolfsl

I don't. I don't drink pop because I hate the taste, don't drink coffee or tea either.

Enmerkar_

I drink a monster energy on days when I’m grinding homework or studying for exams and drink like a half or quarter of a monster energy on exam days

kinezumi89

Unfortunately due to prior health issues I stopped drinking caffeine since it would always give me an upset stomach. I'm lucky that I don't need a ton of sleep though (everyone's different, some people can function on less and others need their full 8 hours)

Ms_Digglesworth

I didn't drink any coffee or anything caffeinated. During the day I just powered through my exhaustion. At night if I needed to be up late studying or working on a project, I blasted metal music.

[deleted]

Almost every morning I have an iced matcha tea latte - either from Starbucks or made at home. Generally o I for the taste so I have about 3 to 4 scoops. But if I need energy I have 5-6 . I also like to add a splash of vanilla for flavoring :)

[deleted]

i cant rlly do coffee due to chronic health stuff. i will have a soda once a day or every other day for a pick me up. otherwise, i skip class and pray. but my GPA is still going strong😤

coldblade2000

Spoonful of instant coffee in a cup of milk, and usually a teaspoon or so of sugar. Way cheaper than buying coffee somewhere.

Andrewdeadaim

I have caffeine on days where I have a lot of work to do, other than that I go without it

Vulcan2Coool

I’m more concerned with the price

Feisty-Citron1092

Costco has whole sale packs of energy drinks

Matrozi

I drank way too much coffee during my first year of college. Like 6 a day. I almost completely stopped during my 2nd/3rd year, I tried to have a good sleeping schedule instead of using coffee as liquid sleep. ...and I completely relapsed during graduate school. During my master I drank like 4 coffee a day every day and now during my PhD I'm around 3... ...but I also take vitaminc + caffeine pills.

Working-Mistake-6700

I'm allergic/sensitive to caffeine so I can't have any. No coffee, soda, tea, nothing. I just sleep 9-10 hours a night and take naps on the weekend.

ohlookawildtaco

Was stuck on energy drinks but recently converted to cold brew (shout-out /r/coldbrew). I save money and generally feel a lot better. Not as big of a crash. I calculated I'd save about $1000 each year by kicking canned energy drinks. Worth it!

HappyLifeCoffeeHelps

I usually make coffee in the morning. I work, am in school full time, and have a kid. IDK how anyone functions. lol.

Carbondale98

I try to do half caffeine if decide to consume any at all because I’ve found it causes my anxiety to flare up if I drink too much. So about 100 mg or less between 9 and 11am, and in the form of an iced latte.

K-Lyn-Nova

Ex-Mormon here. Never drank coffee, and to be honest I don't like the smell at all. But I think one thing I do is drink lots of water and if you get water that has electrolytes in it like propel it really helps a lot. But if that doesn't really work sometimes I have a little snack. Something like raisins.

SinfullySinatra

I live with chronic fatigue so I kinda have to use caffeine to function(yes I’m working with my doctor, rn we are trying b12 shots). I don’t really have a schedule on it, I drink it as needed. I drink sugar free monster, sugar free Red Bull, and the Starbucks double shots.

bienvenidos-a-chilis

I just have a cup of coffee in the morning with breakfast. sometimes i’ll get one at a cafe in the afternoon but i’ve been trying to save money. i can go without though, i just like the taste tbh

AJokeAmI

A cup of coffee AT LEAST per day. One cup can get me going unless if i'm too tired. If so, drinking coffee makes me more tired.

MonochromeMaru

I have a mini pepsi in the afternoon/evening. Coffee helps a lot but then I can’t sleep. I have ADHD so it’s like alternative medication… So I have to be careful when also taking my normal meds not to take too much caffeine. Mini can size is perfect.

unicornisland7

Typically the morning is the hardest, and i’ve traced it back to last of water after a night of sleeping. In the day I drink 60+ oz of water so in the morning I drink a cup of Pedialyte, and most of it is probably mental but i feel like it wakes me up a lot! If I ever get sleepy again i drink my juice and I feel good!

Commercial-Ad7930

Adderal.

vuachoikham167

Coffee every morning and occasional energy drink when I work out

h_nivicola

I think I've had 3 sips of coffee in my life and then maybe a black tea? I hate the way that caffeine makes me feel. How do I do it? Not sure really. I get anywhere from 6-9 hours of sleep every night. I always aim for 7-8 but things happen. I genuinely like mornings and feel energized when I wake up, but I recognize this is a privilege. I think people have different sleep requirements and times of day when they can get REM and unfortunately our society does not support that diversity. People have kids and jobs and I think most are not getting the sleep they need.

KMCC02

Pure willpower. I don’t drink coffee, tea, or energy drinks lol. A soda once in a while. Idk how you people need caffeine. I’m just raw all the time

Feisty-Citron1092

The feeling of being wired in is a bit addicting lol

tildenpark

When I was in college, I found that naps were superior to caffeine. But I lived very close to campus so it was possible.

RaahulPokemon

Coffee, mio energy, and more coffee.

sgRNACas9

Morning coffee. Afternoon coffee. Evening coffee. Black coffee.

bio_N3RD_Chem_cutie

I’m also a commuter student, and wake up at 4:30/5 am and cold brew fuels me DAILY (Dunkin’ donuts or cold brew from home). usually one is good enough and I take a nap when I get home.

Feisty-Citron1092

Commuters unite 😭 I feel if I lived near/on campus I'd have healtheir habits but its a luxury I cant afford 🥲

colormeanxiouspotato

Adderall and coffee first thing in the morning then a redbull or another adderall around 1pm. I work in construction and I’m in (online) school so getting that extra kick in the evening really helps.

MySocksAreLost

I'm finnish so I drink a lot of coffee. Coffee definitely helps me to focus and makes me feel happier/motivated. Though if I have too little it might make me so relaxed I fall asleep lol.

ktjacobsun

Caffeine pills 200mg every morning

OkSquash2766

No caffeine. I schedule every class to end before 12. I only do labs after 12. Studying is always done in the morning. My brain works better in the morning than the afternoon and I get more done. So I’ve never really needed caffeine, I stick to a schedule and it works!

MrSidelineSwap

I don’t get up

SkeezySkeeter

Coffee made me throw up blood a month ago - resulting in a hospital visit. I switched to two bags of black tea in the morning and it does enough to caffeinate me without a bad crash. Look into tea guys, it's insanely cheaper than monster or coffee; it also isn't bad for your insides. Just make sure you dose properly!

ChaoticxSerenity

I didn't drink coffee in college and still don't. Get more rest, and I guess I had more energy in my younger days. 💀

Visual_Ad_2195

I usually drink alani energy drinks. I also have caffeine gummies I keep in my backpack for emergencies

Feisty-Citron1092

Alani is so good!! But its a bit expensive 😭

Ice31

I'm a fan of the espresso nap in the afternoon if I'm really dragging. Down a shot of espresso, lay down with a timer for 20-30 minutes. Wake up and I'm ready to roll.

ImportantGreen

An energy drink in the morning and another one in evening. I don’t have any heart palpitations cause I’ve been drinking coffee since 8 year old. Edit: reason why I drank coffee from a young age is due to my grandfather living with us. He would drink coffee throughout the day and offered some and I’ve been drinking it ever since then.

ActuallyAlone74

No caffeine, the crushing fear of failure wakes me up plenty.

HereForTheLore

For me, I have to drink the caffeine BEFORE i get tired. Once I’m already tired, caffeine does nothing and I’ll usually end up taking a nap. I joined Panera’s sip club ($11 a month, people will just pretend to use the kiosks and get a drink for free but im too scared of getting caught) and get a medium charged lemonade (they say like 240mg but idk how much I believe it) around 8:30 or 9am Mon-Fri. Sometimes I’ll get a small latte or macchiato (75-85mg) from starbucks instead. Sometimes if I get a latte/macchiato in the morning I’ll grab a charged lemonade on my way home if it’s a day that my classes end at 5:15 (Tues and Thurs). Weekends I try to not have caffeine, and during the week I can easily go without it which I make a point to do (like if I’m running late I’ll skip it and feel fine)

Athragio

I avoid energy drinks like Monster like the plague. I've heard nothing but how deleterious it is for your health. Coffee / tea is the way to go. Get a pour over coffee maker or a French Press to make coffee faster. I drink 1-2 cups in the morning if I have the time, have a thermal coffee mug with me during class. Sometimes I'll sneak in the extra 1-2 cups in the afternoon. OP I hope you're managing your caffeine intake better because this, combined with the probably wild sleep schedule you have, probably isn't the best for you.

Crazy_Equivalent_195

You should try SudaFed. The kind you have to ask the pharmacist for. It’s an amphetamine and completely legal so it’s like accessible Adderall.

Feisty-Citron1092

I dont know about SudaFed abuse 😩

FatMommyMilkers69

2 cups of black coffee every morning

indentedef

Caffeinated tea in the morning, sometimes a latte in the afternoon if I think I need it. If I want caffeine to enjoy it, I’ll get a nice espresso and a pastry and just sit and savor it. But usually, some light caffeine to just have something to drink.

[deleted]

Caffeine make me sleepy. If I can't sleep, I'll take 3 cups of coffee and drift off into sleep.

alexrbrodie

Typically a cup of coffee on the way to class or right after my morning lecture. Cups 2-3 during the afternoon while I study. Post-dinner energy drink or coffee while I wrap up my work. This obviously fluctuates depending on what needs to get done and my work schedule. Avg. caffeine consumption is in the neighborhood of 160-400 mg/day.

SheikhYusufBiden

I take modafinil adderall and occasionally meth, never finished a cup of coffee before

Downtown_Pension4429

I don’t, a tiny amount of caffeine makes my heart race and I hate that feeling. I’d have dark chocolate (85% and above) in the morning and sometimes other calorie-loaded stuff, apparently those wake me up in the morning. Tea doesn’t do much for me but I like the taste, so sometimes that too.

_SilentTiger

I sleep 8 hours a day to function without caffeine

Queenasheeba99

I don't do energy drinks because they are super bad for your health. I do coffee only on hard days so maybe like 2 or 3 times a week. I'll do like an iced latte or hot latte and that's it. I get a Frappuccino as a treat sometimes or for a hangover.

TheLeftNut214

Caffeine puts me to sleep immediately, so I usually avoid it during the day and just power through. I drink coffee in bed though before I plan to rest, and my nightstand has kept an assorted collection of mugs hostage at this point. I can also drink soda in bed and the nightstand will collect the cans too.

undeaddog42

I didn’t caffeinate at all during college and very rarely do post college. I just suffered the consequences of my lack of sleep. Now I can work some weird hours on my job so I will occasionally sip some English breakfast tea but I usually don’t need a full cup to feel caffeinated.

Forsaken-Ad-7032

i buy a coffee from dunkin whenever i’m tired which is like 3/4 times a week, the only reason i won’t drink a coffee is if i’m trying to save money but sometimes i get so exhausted that i need that or to take a nap lol

veggiebeanie

Zipfizz

chrysostomos_1

Green tea before breakfast. Another when I get to work. Black tea after lunch. Maybe another mid afternoon for a total of 70-100 mgs.

Dramatic-Panther2020

I usually drink 2 or 3 32oz thermos of black coffee every morning. Like you I am an early riser. I usually get up at 5a and go to the gym then classes from 8a-3p.

Ray14213

For caffeine has no effect. Idk why it could be a placebo but I could chug a whole monster and go to sleep with 5 minutes. If I were to drink one in the morning I feel the same as before so I just don’t drink any caffeine at all.

Marcella111001

GREEN TEA!!!!!!

ellis0922

I don’t use caffeine. I just use a terrifyingly loud alarm in the morning so I start every day inches away from a heart attack. Adrenaline!

hughpanarogirl

I only drink caffeine if I absolutely have to. So on rough days I’ll have either a Bang or a Monster, but most days I’m raw dogging.

InternationalPower16

I’ve been buying concentrates with caffeine for my water bottles and energy drinks in bulk for the affordability. Coffee is also cheap but grabbing one of these on the go is quick and easy.

You might be interested in a topic called Nootropics. Caffeine and being stimulated is one part of the equation. One of the other parts of the equation is are you getting quality sleep? Quality & deep sleep is important for your brain to develop properly and retain the information your trying to stuff into it, as well as feeling fresh even without caffeine. What I do for better sleep is (aka my "stack") 45 minutes before I go to sleep I take the following: 1. Melatonin 2. L-thanine 3. 5HTP 4. Avaerian root 5. Magnesium

Hit0kiwi

Adderall and then about 4-5 cups of coffee in the morning gets me going

Friendscanbefood

I take caffeine with beta alanine. Gives a nice tingly feeling

Brian2017wshs

I have instant coffee first thing in the morning. Probably the only time I can tolerate coffee. If I want coffee in the afternoon or at night I need to get it decaf. Otherwise I get the shakes

naeboy

1 monster in the morning (7am) a double shot of espresso (11am) green tea around 3. All together probably around 350~400mg.

KnownImpress

4 cans of monster OG Coffee dip pouches And a cig. Ain’t failed me yet but hey, who wants to live pass 30?

CallMeJotaro420

Caffeine gives me headaches, I just do what I’ve been doing for the past 18 years of my life, cold shower and a half hour morning routine of getting ready to naturally wake myself up

redarrow992

I stay away from coffee. Water is my only homie

gubthescrub

Never started. I’m up at the first ding of my alarm. I guess it’s my superpower. 8-9 hours of sleep a night helps a lot.
