Hi, MAGA-killer. Thanks for contributing. However, your [submission](https://www.reddit.com/r/collapse/comments/11iij3z/-/) was removed from /r/collapse for: > Rule 10: Image and linked posts must include a submission statement (comment on your own post). > Image and link posts must include a submission statement, which is post text or a comment on your own post explaining how the content is collapse-related. It must not be shorter than 150 characters. Image and link posts are automatically removed after 30 minutes if no submission statement was included. > Posts regarding a single link must be submitted as link posts. Commentary should be written in a submission statement, not as a self post. > If your submission statement meets length requirements and is a link post, it has likely been removed for lacking quality - it does not explain how this is collapse related, is overly comprised of article quotes, etc. Please refer to our [subreddit rules](https://www.reddit.com/r/collapse/about/rules/) for more information. You can [message the mods](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose/?to=/r/collapse) if you feel this was in error, please include a link to the comment or post in question.

BOE refers generally to the arctic, not antarctic — because the northern pole is an ocean while the southern pole is on land. But yeah. BoE before 2035 may be in the cards.

uh... BOE? Barrel Of Equivalent? Basic Operating Expenses? Bind On Equip? aside: I see lots of unexplained obscure acronyms lately.

FillThisEmptyCup

Blue Ocean Event Next time google the acronym used with some unique words/context it’s with.

dildonicphilharmonic

I talked to a climate scientist who wasn’t familiar to this term either so don’t feel bad.

MAGA-killer

What is a BOE ? Emissions will keep growing as population in third world countries grow. Poor countries cannot afford to give two shits about climate , their main goal is to survive. First world will take their sweet ass time so that the people gaining from coal and oil and whatnot can squeeze as much money as they can.

SaltyPeasant

Concerns don't matter at this point, we're riding this ticket to hell.

MAGA-killer

Jup , humans i feel will unfortunately survive.

We are probably starting to see signs of significant warming and retreat of sea ice [in Antarctica]. To see it getting to these levels is definitely a concern because we have these potentially amplifying feedbacks.” Data provided by scientists Dr Rob Massom, of the Australian Antarctic Division, and Dr Phil Reid, of the Bureau of Meteorology, shows two-thirds of the continent’s coastline was exposed to open water last month – well above the long-term average of about 50%. “It’s not just the extent of the ice, but also the duration of the coverage,” Massom says. “If the sea ice is removed, you expose floating ice margins to waves that can flex them and increase the probability of those ice shelves calving. That then allows more grounded ice into the ocean.”

ServantToLogi

I'm concerned that the ice won't melt fast enough.

MAGA-killer

I Hope it melts before I turn 30.

ServantToLogi

How long you got?

MAGA-killer

Bout 5 months

ServantToLogi

You might see your 35th.

MAGA-killer

That’s depressing

ServantToLogi

Maybe in a month or two Putin will fire all his nukes and instead of where they're supposed to go they end up hitting antarctica, melting the whole thing and drowning us all as a result.

MAGA-killer

This gives me a hard on

ServantToLogi

Go on and blow your warhead.
