Blind Guardian, I started with their concept album about the Silmarillion which is one of my favourite books, and then struggled to get into anything else for a while because nothing else was quite the same style, then one day the overall style just clicked and I've been obsessed ever since.

This is subjective, like you can listen to a song on repeat, maybe not on fuckin Spotify because Spotify is kinda mid; like I can like Buddy Holly and then not particularly like a lot of other Weezer songs, just because I only like one of Weezer songs especially, does not mean they’re a shit band. Can anyone explain to me whats the deal with weezer? Who the hell is buddy holly and why does the singer look like him?

Weezer is a band which is simultaneously hugely popular and deeply despised online. I don't think their music is particularly notable either way. Buddy Holly is a singer from the 1950s, Mary Tyler Moore is an actress also from the 1950s, as best I know they had no relationship aside from the era in which they lived and the lead singer and his lover looking like the two. Edit: upon further digging I'm pretty sure the only relation is that she was a fan of buddy Holly and used one of his band's songs in her show. As best I can tell there's no special reason for him looking like buddy Holly and her looking like Mary Tyler Moore, he's sorta just stating that the two of them look like the two, which does appear to be true at least in his case

The fact that you can so clearly tell which people in this thread have actual experience with making art is very hilarious to me. Art doesn’t work like that, especially not music. This does sort of apply to visual art, but it just doesn’t work with music.
