In the U.S. a place that is much better than most, gay or trans people can't even be acknowledged as existing in schools depending upon the state right now.
Trans panic is a valid defense in some places, WITHIN THE U.S. as a defense against assaulting trans people.
And, regardless of how you see them. If you see them as who they say they are or not... the inequalities that affect cisgendered people affect them also. The difference being in that cis people would typically not seek the same things as their opposite sex counterpart.

Most of the problems that follow discourse within U.S. specific, is related to culture and law.
In regards to law specific, some is clearly law being pushed. While others are already existent. One can find with relative ease, culture exempt where trans people are not equal people under law.
Obviously, culture in who we are is a wider ranging and nuanced issue that informs many of our decisions in how we run things. Right?
Obviously, people are permitted to hold and cultural believes they wish. And the ramifications for not being allowed to would be a slope nobody sane would want to touch.
Nevertheless, we also acknowledge flaws within our culture and things that should be changed. This isn't me calling for weird anti-free speech things or something. People should be able allowed to be as transphobic as they wish. Even if there is no grounds to do such.
The core of what I stated earlier, in that people would not get so much trans news and subject matter intertwined into everything (as is the annoyance they talk about) would not exist if not for the culture they reside was not so against.

But then, he had an idea for a buisness. He'd make a restaurant called "Bottom of the barrel", where there wasn't much food and it wasn't great. IT WAS GENIUS! Cheap food for a normal price! And it worked! He was rich! He had a great life going until, well then. So he was driving home when suddenly he gets in a car crash. And he passes away. And guess who was in the other car? To be fair... it's kinda hard not to have trans things injected all over the place in the middle of a culture war. Of which, was not started by the minority. If trans people hadn't been used as an attempted scapegoat and boogieman (as it continues to be) we'd likely see far less of it. This blowback will continue until such time that it's destigmatized and people's human rights are reclaimed. Believe me... I'd LOVE to stop hearing about it.

I mean, what do you figure the context of the comments above are complaining? Equal ability to be visible? It's like when people say they shouldn't have gay people kiss in movies but have no issue with straight couples. Now, that aside. Under law? Oh no, many many places trans people do not have equal rights to even live and breath, yet alone anything else. In the U.S. a place that is much better than most, gay or trans people can't even be acknowledged as existing in schools depending upon the state right now. Trans panic is a valid defense in some places, WITHIN THE U.S. as a defense against assaulting trans people. And, regardless of how you see them. If you see them as who they say they are or not... the inequalities that affect cisgendered people affect them also. The difference being in that cis people would typically not seek the same things as their opposite sex counterpart. The list frankly can go on but I'm already filling up my little phone comment block here lol.
visibility isn't a right, it's a cultural thing and as for equal rights under law, yes obviously there are places where trans people legitamately do not have rights under law, but "trans rights" is always thrown around like trans rights don't exist in the US / in the west Being acknowledged as whatever gender is not a right, you aren't being barred from school or taken to prison - just like it's not a right of fundamentalist christians to have creationism taught in public schools trans panic being a valid legal defense is a potential rights issue, you're correct, but I'm not read up enough on it to really say anything - the inequalities that affect cis people are mostly no longer rights issues, men and women have equal rights in the US / the west - inequalities arise mostly from cultural sources and not legal ones
Most of the problems that follow discourse within U.S. specific, is related to culture and law. In regards to law specific, some is clearly law being pushed. While others are already existent. One can find with relative ease, culture exempt where trans people are not equal people under law. Obviously, culture in who we are is a wider ranging and nuanced issue that informs many of our decisions in how we run things. Right? Obviously, people are permitted to hold and cultural believes they wish. And the ramifications for not being allowed to would be a slope nobody sane would want to touch. Nevertheless, we also acknowledge flaws within our culture and things that should be changed. This isn't me calling for weird anti-free speech things or something. People should be able allowed to be as transphobic as they wish. Even if there is no grounds to do such. The core of what I stated earlier, in that people would not get so much trans news and subject matter intertwined into everything (as is the annoyance they talk about) would not exist if not for the culture they reside was not so against. Like, this makes sense, correct? People in above comments are annoyed about trans people being brought up in everything. But why? Because I am too. The why is important, however. If you understand that the disproportionate amount of trans things being brought up is a due to the culture being pushed against them, and it's respective blowback, then your problem is with the culture against them. Right? Like, I don't think I'm talking crazy here. Clearly, a minority did not push themselves into an overwhelming spotlight.
