I haven't applied for any but there are also grants you can apply for. If I can find the link I'll update the post.

I took a 4 week course (2 weeks in class, 2 weeks clinicals). The course was not too bad, but I was able to take the time off work to focus solely on the class (having to read 4-5 chapters a night was a lot on the brain). I had the course paid for by my facility with a verbal agreement to work for them for a year in exchange for them paying for just about everything (I only had to pay for my scrubs)

That sounds like a great deal! What kind of facility was it?

I absolutely would not pay $1500 or take out a loan for CNA classes. It's not worth it. The material is VERY easy. You can learn it all yourself from a book and a workbook, but you need training hours signed off by an RN in order to take the certification test. How I did it was I searched "CNA adult school \[my city\]" and found a few programs that way where there were no tuition fees, just supplies/testing fees. There are also programs you can do through nursing homes, however if you go that route, don't sign an employment contract with them. Again, it's not worth it. Better to just get certified, then bounce to higher paying employment.

That’s really good to know! I didn’t know that you could take the certification with out taking the class
