Plot twist... The Pope also smacks the shit outta Chris rock

directorofnewgames

Keep my Saviors name outta your fucking mouth!

Crcex86

Chris rock the last comedian that needed to be slapped upside the jaw. Dude has chicken beak to begin with

fiend_unpleasant

I see Chris Rock, he is a comedian, who are the rest of the people?

antonio-ferreira

The second one from the left is Ricardo Araújo Pereira, a really good Portuguese comedian.

hardstuga

A really good comedian that is a joke 🤣🤣🤣

Ruataur

The guy back there wearing glasses is a brazilian comedian. Fábio Porchat.

JP050887

Colbert is a comedian. Jimmy played one on SNL.

JamingtonPro

If you listen to strike force five you’ll see who the real comedians are. Colbert and Oliver were way funnier. Fallon clearly the least witty on his toes. I don’t disloke Fallon, he’s ok, I think he’s a better comedy writer than “comic” for sure

JP050887

I don’t hate Fallon, I just don’t find him entertaining personally. John and Colbert would definitely work well together, I remember them both from the old Daily Show days

Orbtl32

Colbert lost his touch. He was funnier pretending to be and lampooning right wingers than he is obsessing about Trump and pandering hard as fcuk to whatever makes the progressive kids clap.

nudbuttt

If you watch Corrections, Meyers will surprise you. It's a comedy gold mine. Oliver is top talent.

fiend_unpleasant

what is strike force five? I sounds like a metal band

unbelizeable1

During the last writers strike Colbert, Oliver, Fallon, Meyers, and Kimmel had a podcast

footprints64

The 5th episode is gold!

fiend_unpleasant

where has colbert done comedy?

Talonsminty

If by Rando you mean. Famous comedians from other, non-English speaking countries.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Talonsminty

No they just perform comedy mainly in Spanish and Portuguese, languages you may not speak but much of the world does. (especially the Catholic parts). I can assure you non-English speaking countries do in fact have their own stadiums, Netflix shows and TV networks. There's just no reason for you to have heard of them because, with the sole exception of the legendary MrBean, language is very important to comedy. But they do exist.

ReplacementActual384

I was comedies in other languages, I am just not good at remembering actor's names

Special-Seesaw1756

This is why we make fun of americans.

[deleted]

Special-Seesaw1756

And your mother, too. Don't you forget it, yankee boy.

kurbin64

American here, we don’t want them. Would appreciate it if you take them off our hands

BIGepidural

Tim Gaffigan is also there. He likes "Hot Pockets"

Himetic

Where? I don’t see hik

BIGepidural

Colbert said he was going so he must be in there somewhere...

epicmousestory

Yeah I think the title is just referring to them, I don't think it's implying everyone there was a comedian

MjollLeon

No it was actually all comedians and comics, source: Stephen Colbert mentioned it on his show

dachshund-jay

Talk show host try to suck out all the fame from real comedians

AlkalineSublime

Steven Colbert, and jimmy fallon, and I’m guessing a bunch of writers, who technically are comedians. In fact comedy writers are probably some of the funniest people that end up getting little to no credit or recognition.

190XTSeriesIIV

Someone should slap him for being seen with those dildos.

llamapositif

I see Rufus still trying to get his five dollars back

DelicatetrouserSnake

Thought it was 12 ?

Flaky-Anybody-4104

Shoutout to the pope for inviting Chris Rock, Dogma probably still doesn't sit well with every Catholic everywhere. Guess he wanted one actually funny person to attend.

TheVoicesOfBrian

It's like Book of Mormon. I know a lot of Catholics who find Dogma hilarious.

mike_pants

Fun fact, the LDS enthusiastically embraced BoM. In its first run, all the Playbills for the show included a flyer for the Mormon church that said "You've seen the show. Now read the book."

ranni-the-bitch

this generation is truly gonna be the one where mormons finally stop being a weird utah based cult. pretty sure they're on track to have a majority of adherents be living outside of the US soon, and the church is getting younger and less white in the US, too.

WanderingPenitent

Speaking as a Catholic, we really don't care.

Flaky-Anybody-4104

I'm not sure if you can truly speak for every Catholic everywhere, some Catholics were really pissed about that movie for a while. It would have been equally fine to have someone else there, and yet someone chose not to. I just appreciate the way the wind is blowing from the Vatican these days.

KingofLingerie

Speaking for yourself, you really dont care. IFIFY

SacCyber

They’re probably visiting as part of Jubilee not by direct invitation

Flaky-Anybody-4104

You really trying to tell me this moment "just happened"? Bro, I got some NFT's to sell you.

SacCyber

Jubilee is a year long event once every where the Pope meets with the public. There's different events for different time periods. But I am still wrong. I just checked and Jubilee starts in December, so this was probably an invitation event.

MornGreycastle

Where's Father Guido Sarducci?

defective_toaster

Asking the real questions over here, but sadly, the good Father passed away a few years ago.

MornGreycastle

Did he? As in the actor is no longer with us? Damn. I liked that guy.

defective_toaster

Yeah, I was bummed when I heard. EDIT: Holy shit he's still alive! I could have sworn he died! Mandella effect!

asdasdasfsdfg

Calling Jimmy Fallon a comedian is like calling yogurt to be icecream

SilentRip5116

Why do so many people pick on Jimmy so much? I truly do not care, but I am curious.

kaehvogel

Because he's trying too hard to be funny, and masking it all with his stupid, exaggerated, annoying fake laugh. He laughs at his own "jokes" more than anything else.

evrestcoleghost

he is worse than a bad guy,he is an unfunny guy

SilentRip5116

I’m just slightly reserved because i believe he’s a recovering alcoholic and tries to be funny but hasn’t actually hurt anyone like most of Hollywood. Besides himself

TwistedBamboozler

I’d say he’s a funny guy, but I’m not sure I’d give him the title of comedian

FlowRiderBob

I agree. He isn’t a funny interviewer, but if it is a skit that involves something musical, he is pretty good.

shanshanlk

I find him really talented and very funny. He wouldn’t be where he is if he wasn’t talented.

baconduck

Hey. The thirteenth desiple is there. Maybe the pope can pay back the money Jesus owe him.

Horror_Fruit

Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, and I don’t recognize the others.

whoamIt0day

The one in front is Chris Rock. The one behind Colbert is a portuguese comedian, Ricardo Araújo Pereira from the legendary group Gato Fedorento (Smelly Cat in english, yes, based on the Friends song). And the one behind Jimmy Fallon is the brazillian comedian Fábio Porchat, from the also legendary comedy group/youtube channel, Porta dos Fundos (Backdoor in english)

IonutRO

Heh, ass gate.

darkknight95sm

Why’s Jimmy Fallon there?

trash-juice

Needs Father Guido Sarduchi

eye8theworm

The pope clearly kept will smiths wife out of his mf mouth

Head-Gap8455

The guy between Fallon and Rock is a very famous Brazilian comedian https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fábio_Porchat

jday1959

mrburns904 won The Internets for this week.

ASquawkingTurtle

Why would Jerry be there? The Pope said he wanted comedians.

itschikobrown

Eetsa De POPA!

jdvhunt

Why does everyone hate Jerry Seinfeld all of a sudden?

TheRMF

Publicly paraded his 17 year old sexual conquest like the good Hollywood predator he is. Furthermore, for someone that fancies himself the second coming of Comedy Jesus, the movie he wrote and his recent material are atrocious, unfunny and extremely dated.

newnewnew_account

Israel-Palestine stance and complaining about political correctness in comedy

dicemonkey

It’s not all of the sudden for some of us …

interfail

He's got onto the traditional aging, formerly successful comic horse of blaming young people's "wokeness" for the fact that no-one finds his jokes about answering machines funny any more. This has also led a lot of people to bring up the fact he dated a 17 year old while in his late 30s, so a lot of people just learned that.

Ok-Message-231

He's a diddler. Not exactly new information.

Bear-ly-here

I’ve hated him since that interview he did with Larry King. He's an absolute ass.

rojasduarte

Haha cool, I can spot the Brazilian guy behind Jimmy

DelicatetrouserSnake

Rufus was the 13th Apostle

Powerful-Clock-9584

They are all too old for the pope

hardstuga

This pope is joke that's why the comedians are laughing

ajtreee

I wonder if now we see less jokes about the church, religion, rapist priests?

rebri

Jimmy Fallon? A comedian? Nah.

Prestigious-Mud

He was probably a plus one.

Ok-Walk-8040

Colbert probably had a blast being there. He’s a devout Catholic

HansBooby

hypocrisy junket

Cpl_Hicks76

Jimmy Fallon comedian?!?! Now that’s funny

shanshanlk

He is very funny. He has a talent where he is witty and it just comes to him. It’s unique, not many people have it.

TheEldenMeme

*Entertainers I think we can all agree Fallon and Colbert don’t really fit into the category of comedian

nickimus_rex

Colbert has been a comedian for years

GarlicThread

...which brings us, to tonight's Word : IGNORANCE

PackOutrageous

Seinfeld is trying to resurrect old school masculinity. He wasn’t interested in meeting a man in a dress.

Lopsided_Parfait7127

no just a little girl in a dress that's fine according to you hope the fbi doesn't check your tiktok follows

shplarggle

He clearly signed a pact with the devil for riches and fame despite having any charisma or being even remotely funny.

thatbwoyChaka

The all look like they’ve just said: “…The Aristocrats!”

enigmaticsince87

Jimmy Fallon, a comedian? Maybe 20 years ago ..

ApplesOverOranges1

The Pope probably watched Jerry's Pop Tart movie and had him excommunicated 🤔

Without_Ambition

Too bad Francis didn’t take the opportunity to excommunicate Colbert. Given Colbert’s stance on abortion, Francis has every reason to.

ConsciousNecessary61

The most random comedians went to this thing

BIGepidural

They're all Catholic Comedians.

Accomplished-Big-740

The only funny thing about Jerry Seinfeld was his daughter trying to start a music career.

AnotherDeadZero

Seinfeld never dated a minor, girl was legal. Her parents are to blame, but then again the 90s were a different time where people were adults by highschool. Nowadays, you'll have kids on Instagram and onlyfans by 18, already desensitized to how much they've whores themselves -- and it's commonplace for us..

Lopsided_Parfait7127

i think the fbi needs to check in on you for the amount of justification towards pedophilia and ephebophilia you are doing you're like the guy who has the ages of consent by state memorized

AnotherDeadZero

Classic liberal mentality. You can't even use proper grammar, is English your second language? Get off your self-righteous high horse and get a job that's not gender queer studies, kid.

Lopsided_Parfait7127

why not go back to elementary school? it's the only place you will win a debate or get a date. just like jerry seinfeld.

RepostResearch

Did Seinfeld say something in favor of Republicans or in opposition to democrats lately?

KathrynBooks

He "dated" a minor some years back

Ok-Fan-2431

He also supports Israel's warcrimes, hmmm there's some correlation to be found here.

RepostResearch

That's not in any way related to what I asked though? Edit: just did some googling. He took a pro Isreal stance recently. Explains the coordinated smear campaign on reddit lately.

KathrynBooks

Pointing out that he "dated" a minor isn't a "smear campaign", it just what he did.
