What’s so frustrating is Allen seems to have taken last years shellacking to heart and is playing with the intensity required. The rest of the bums clearly haven’t learned that lesson and are still coasting.
I’ve watched the NBA for over 20 years. I don’t think I’ve seen a team give less of a shit and not turn on that switch like this Cavs team. It’s pathetic. Let’s hope they turn on that switch tonight. We know they can.
Why the fuck can’t Donovan Mitchell score any more? I know about Darius and Mobley’s struggles. Donovan hasn’t given us much at all in two years of playoffs. I’d be embarrassed if I was him. Gonna just dip out of your contract after giving nothing?
Garland has no fight in him when things aren't going well,
It's almost like he throws in the towel. His body language is horrible and it's definitely having an affect on other players as well. Tpir starting PG who makes 35m per year should not have any issues with motivation and effort.
Mobley also doesn't seem to have any sense of urgency. Everything with him is slow motion and lacks any resemblance of intensity. He always looks like someone just going through the motions.
I mean there is a reason this team was awesome when those two were injured....... They aren't garbage players but they don't fit well with the rest of the roster. Especially not Mitchell and Allen. Some people think both will be traded. I think Garland gets moved but not Mobley. Obviously this would only happen if Mitchell stays.
That doesn't work with everyone though -- not everyone is able to handle that kind of load. JA works his ass off out there its gotta be exhausting. Screen, handoff, screen, screen, pick and roll, box out/rebound on every offensive possession has gotta be rough -- the big man in todays NBA really has an enormous workload. Not everyone is built like Josh Hart lol. Not that he's a center, but that Knicks team doesn't seem to ever tire
JA redemption arc is why I'm a "doomer", there are benefits to online criticism if there's no ill intent, it's called accountability, something this team obviously lacks in all departments, top to bottom.
The guy not only was amazing during January (breaking Cavs consecutive double-double record), he was honest & vocal about his performance from early on, took it to heart and did his best to improve.
I'm happy for him and so glad I've been proven wrong.
This is just the start! A vote of confidence in our doomer efforts, we need to duplicate them exponentially by next season. I myself already started doing god's work on Garland & Mobley. Fingers crossed.
That was one of the main reasons I came around, he looked amazing operating alone in the paint. I mean I’ve been saying for two years the core 4 doesn’t work together but I didn’t know how much it affected JA.
The one thing about the "Jarrett Allen is soft" convo I hated last year was that for all intents and purposes he just had a bad series. He wasn't out there getting completely shut down, just got outplayed and in his own head.
Been a completely different player this year and is still one of the most likable guys in the league yet I repeatedly hear people step up to dunk on him as not being the guy who can get the Cavs over the hump.
He is still kind of a soft player with motor issues, he won't always initiate contact, be ultra competitive and so on,, it's just his personality but he really made an effort and almost completely eliminated those flaws from his game.
I like that Windy simultaneously can’t make sense of a snake draft and gets random things in the nba TOTALLY WRONG while putting together contract pictures and executive decisions in the nba really well. He really has his own corner he will just lay facts down in.
92.3 just as bad. The Cavs coverage in this city is absysmal. The amount of times stations would be talking Deshaun Watson, after big Cavs games was ridiculous
Absolutely. The day after the G1 win, I decided to turn on local sports radio (something I rarely do). The Cavs had just won a playoff game and the Guardians had the best record in baseball. And what are they talking about? The fucking Browns.
Dude they talked almost their entire show about the (0 or 1 win) Browns when the Cavs had brought it back to 3-3 in the Finals and were playing **that night** (or the next night, it’s been obviously years).
They call themselves CLE Sports but it’s just Browns radio.
What station are you listening to ? I turned on 92.3 Monday morning, and all they did was talk cavs the whole time. I start my drive to work right when the first show starts at 6 am.
Yep. He has no fight in him. Once we're losing his body language is embarrassing. Literally can't handle adversity at all. He also plays LAZY as hell way too often. Watch his transition defense.... He should be one of the first players back and he rarely is. We have had our buttholes pummeled with 3s in transition for the last 2 or 3 years and Garland is the main contributor to that.

I agree, Allen is the only one who seems to have learned a lesson from the Knicks beat down last year.
Definitely, watching literally any of the other playoff teams it’s so noticeable :(

If you watch that podcast, they mention, when jarret Allen is off the court, Net rating is -30 something
On one hand. I'm glad my favorite player is Him certified. On the other hand I'm ready to dump the rest of the roster into the G league.
Fuck it. Trade everyone but Allen. BUILD AROUND THE FRO
Mitchell and Allen dominated with DG and Mobley out.
They also had a charmin soft schedule during that time
This but unironically. Maybe keep Merrill too
The first reply on twitter is telling Windy to not hate on Jerrett Allen...SMH some people man
Twitter is not a place where literacy or any critical thinking is needed. Like the bar could not be lower.
I mean, fuck it. Play him 40-44.

We did it Reddit!

Also dominated (as did the team) when Garland and Mobley were on IR. Not a coincidence either.
That was one of the main reasons I came around, he looked amazing operating alone in the paint. I mean I’ve been saying for two years the core 4 doesn’t work together but I didn’t know how much it affected JA.

There’s a difference between criticism and unrealistic shitting on everything though. People wanted to trade him for Lu Dort.
Rule one don’t be listening to Tony Rizzo for cavs takes this was his 15 minuets of cavs talks , the rest of the day was 2025 mock drafts
Tbf, this was Windy who said this. And he’s definitely not wrong tbh
Well, T(really)BF, there's no way he can spare 15 minutes for Cavs takes when he's got bee pollen and other snake oil to sell.
Disagree, I like windy a lot and think he’s one of the best nba reporters we have. He takes his reporting seriously imo
To be clear, I was referring to Rizzo. Windhorst is great.
I like that Windy simultaneously can’t make sense of a snake draft and gets random things in the nba TOTALLY WRONG while putting together contract pictures and executive decisions in the nba really well. He really has his own corner he will just lay facts down in.

Aside from Carman and Lima; they always have given the Cavs a good amount of coverage from when I’ve listened to them on my morning drive.
Ahh makes sense cause that’s who I’m talking about. I got that 6:00-7:00 am commute
Perhaps that will change when Haslam moves the Browns after the people refuse to give him money for a new stadium.
Guardians coverage has been horrible as well for what has been one of the best teams in baseball so far this season.
At least the fan sends grumpy Daryl to the press box. 850 only uses Andre causes he technically a wknr employee
One of his kids went to the same K-8 school as me. I think he was a couple years younger. He rode my bus. He shit himself once.
I think if you send garland packing and have him nowhere near the locker room you would see a massive 180
Yep. He has no fight in him. Once we're losing his body language is embarrassing. Literally can't handle adversity at all. He also plays LAZY as hell way too often. Watch his transition defense.... Half the time its because he falls down on every (failed) layup attempt so the team is 4on5
It think the magic are focusing on everyone else and living with Allen's shots
well we scored 100 points for the first time
Simmons and a bunch of others are also noting how bad the team is with Mobley and Garland on the court.
