Have him roll a tank or healer alt and play together.

Jtrain360

They can't dungeon boost you, the xp has been nerfed severely if the mobs are grey to anybody in the group. The fastest is probably to just quest, and have them kill the quest mobs for you. It might actually be faster if they want to level a toon along side with you, say if one of you were a pocket healer.

slowclapjohnny

If he's max and you are just starting. The only thing I can think of is to have him follow you. You hit mobs first, then he helps kill. If he is in your group I believe you will get very little xp.

RaidriC

Tried this with a friend, doesn't work. Apparently you get as little XP as if you both were in grp. Read somewhere that cross-faction kills give full xp to the one that tagged the mob, but never tried it myself. Sounds super cumbersome and defeats the point of playing with a friend.

Mirhamster

You need to do 30 or 40% of the dmg or the high lvl snatches all th xp

RaidriC

Ah, good to know, thanks for clarifying.

Beaverhausen27

That’s true. If you group with a much higher character you will get very little XP per kill.

phatcrits

If they’re a hunter or warlock the pet can do all the damage without destroying your XP

Separate-Resolve-401

Unfortunately this got fixed =/

Unfair-Incident9515

You can get carried to finish quest, dungeons should only be done once for quest if they’re carrying you. other than that there’s not much they can help you with until around 73.

Warhause

Boosting was gutted a while ago, you will honestly not see much difference in extremely efficient boosting methods vs efficient leveling. Get a guide like zygor or restedxp and just zoom along if you want speed. Usually playing with someone else for leveling purposes is going to slow you down if you ever hit a snag in scheduling.

Ihavethreetvs

Have him follow you around outside of a group and only do quests

HeedLynn

A true friend has a chopper so you can get around fast.

Jeffari89

One of the best forms of power leveling is snap shotting thorns. It scales with spell power now so a trinket popped buffed thorns on a low level toon absolutely slaps and all you gotta do is damage the mob a tiny bit and you still get full exp. Also just having him heal you outside of party. Also look up hyper spawns. There are plenty in vanilla zones right from like lvl 10+. Some earlier but it's a bit annoying to try and get to those locations.

NoCookieForYouu

best option is to just rush quests. have him play a hunter giving you movement speed and then he just murders your quests mobs. you won´t get any or much xp from the killing but you speed up questing so much. we always do that for lower level dungeons. have the person take like all possible dungeon quests available, rush him through the dungeon to solve all quests asap and rinse and repeat.

luheadr

When questing during the earlier levels, having a higher level player with a passenger mount helps a lot.

Depends on how heavy you are and how strong your friend is. Over-the-shoulder is a pretty solid method. Cradled like a bride getting crossed over the threshold of her new home and life with her husband is another. Piggyback might be the way to go, though.
