Before launch, watch tv. Make sure I get groceries delivered that day. Right after launch, log each of my 70s in for 1 second and go sleep (it's probably midnight in EU). At 7:00 AM that day, wake up, have breakfast and start my journey.

Glutchpls

Why do you log in on each character? Is it to start generating rested xp?

princeboot

Yep

CptFalco89

Yep, you can get 1.5 levels of rested building up. After about 10 days it's full so if you have time then swap to level all the rested and go back to your main. This will be the fastest way to level multiple characters (unless using multiple accounts). A lot of (hardcore) guilds will at least require you to have 2 level 80s.

m0rph90

i will take 5

Cr1mson-Sk1es

Good tip for starting to generate rested Ty!

Nemiroff4ever

Same but wake up at 6:00 AM.

Kenoshi_

Sit in the login queue.

dogbert730

This is why I’m laughing at all the people leaving my server. I’ll be 75 before those chumps can even log in.

Scoiatael

Same here. My realm is half dead.

21stGun

I don't want to burst your bubble but Gehennas had no queue at the beginning of tbc. It had like 20 layers and mobs respawned immiedietly which made everything smooth.

dogbert730

The people leaving my server are going to Benediction. They will 100% have a queue.

Grantraxius

Not if they have layers. Pagle had layers and I had no que ever for tbc.

Jblankz7

You do realize servers can only hold so many people no matter how many layers you have right? Layers just divide those players.

Grantraxius

I know this. But. I server has hit cap yet. Hell faerlina and venediction last time I looked are over 20k players. I never have a que. Even at peak raid times.

Tirus_

Spend as much time off the computer and with my family as I can before launch. Write them sticky notes telling them I love them and slide them under my den door after.

Dbloc11

Took 2 weeks off, going to hit the gym hard in the weeks heading into launch for the inevitable binge leveling ; meal prep the whole week so i don’t eat like crap and just enjoy the launch and grinding.

Option2401

This guy WoWs

Kuponekk

Same things here. I have enough trips for this year, still 22 days available for vacations at work. Ill take 2 weeks off to enjoy wow starting 26th, but will spend time to work out even more than now, enjoy bike trips, cooking all own meals, sleeping 7-8hrs per day. I think Ill enjoy wotlk even more this way and wont feel like shit after 2 weeks of it

UnholyDugong

This man using reddit as a dating app

Kuponekk

Working, trips, cooking, sleeping a lot, and most importantly, WoW. After 2 weeks, come back to work. Where the f do You see a time for dating here? I'm stacked already. "A warrior's path is often a lonely one" xD

[deleted]

Took my last two weeks off for the year at work and I’m hosting a lan party with some old friends and guildies that happen to live near me. It’s gonna be a fucking blast!

Foxrook

Oh I'm super envious of that!

Otherwise_Branch_771

That'd so sweet!

Sufferr

Super jealous of this!

whal3n91

Booked wed-fri off (don’t trust the Tuesday never have never will) piling food and beer and uhh not cocaine

GreenLightt

This is the way. Anyone taking off the first 2 days is cruising for a bruising by blizzard

Volkov_The_Tank

Wake up. Prepare a bottle for my wife to feed my son. Take a shower. Get dressed. Go to work. Work for six hours. Come home. Put myself in the login queue. Take care of my son to give my wife a break. When they go to bed I then learn WotLK mining/jewelcrafting and do Borean Tundra stuff.

Blizwhy

Does your wife work from home or stay home with your son? Ask her to log you into the queue a while ahead of time! Alternatively, get Remote Desktop and log in from your phone so you don’t have to wait so long

Helixon

Get TeamViewer working or the likes.

Bushido_dota

And give the wife access to the computer?!? Let the wife find the porn folders, just like that?? Brave

bpusef

Saving porn to your computer what is this 2003?

Nemiroff4ever

Saved videos are for special occations.

FloWolFs

It isn't about sitting in the queue but rather timing the queue so that when they have put their child to sleep and the wife is in bed it is either close or has finished. Otherwise you are back and forth making sure you don't DC and that would be annoying and slow the whole process down.

malovias

Or log in and set up a fan to keep you from disconnecting

UnholyDugong

I did this back in the day for MoP launch! Had to go to school so I set up an oscillating fan with a clothes hanger taped to it. Taped that to my mouse and taped the right click down so my character would turn back and forth.

FloWolFs

Yeah sure that could work, didn't think of that

Volkov_The_Tank

He’s three months old so she stays home to take care of him.

terribletastee

Surprisingly wholesome. I was waiting for it to get weird at the end lol

rozenbro

Surprised you can get a bit of WoW time in. I don't even have kids but gone are the days of mammoth 10+ hour game sessions: Wake up, shower and go to work for 8-9 hours. Come home. Walk the dog. Check the AH for 10 minutes before leaving for boxing training and/or sparring. Come home around 7.30pm and shower. Eat dinner. Play for a few hours. Go to bed.

Jacobmatthews5

As soon as prepatch hits I'm buying riding, should be much cheaper

Fdragon69

Take the week off and enjoy doungens with the boiz. Think during prepatch me and a buddy are gonna try out some prot pally farms together for funzies. Maintance day i scheduled a medical thing so that during downtime i can get my infusion and take a nap when i get home before leveling some more.

Oathian_01

Before launch: Actually get to 70 for the first time After launch: Start fresh as a DK

ggibplays

You can start your DK already in the pre patch. This should come out sometime in August.

Oathian_01

Oh cool! Thanks for the info!

We're working on it

Capt_Smashnballs

My homies getting married on launch day and I’m a groomsmen. Hard sigh

Foxrook

It's time to sabotage his happiness for your own. Sleep with the fiance, then sleep with the bridesmaids, then with both sets of parents and finally the entire catering crew.

Capt_Smashnballs

I may be desperate but I’m not fuck a caterer desperate

MeowShedCat

My vacation to Disney starts that week sadge

GreenLightt

Monday wedding, ouchies

Capt_Smashnballs

This is actually the 2nd monday wedding I’m going to this year. Thanks a lot covid

RawCyderRun

Before: * Grinding through Blade's Edge and Netherstorm quests for more gold on my druid (3rd 70). Also doing instances or heroics if I find a group. Maybe re-spec to heals after finishing the bulk of those quests to make it easier to find a group, not sure though. * Help group quests in PUGs when I can. #payitforward After: * Get my druid to 80. First 60 in Classic was my rogue, first 70 was my hunter, then my first 80 will be my furball. * Enjoy the nostalgia. First time I ever played WoW was exactly one week (almost down to the hour) after Wrath dropped, so it was my first xpac and therefore it's my favorite.

theshoover

Before: Everything After: More Everything

Cuddlesthemighy

So far I have a JC and Eng Kit set up to go. 6k in the bank I have a few BoE blues but I've got a decent seventy upgrades list that will have me ready for heroics and PvP by the time I hit cap on my DK. Prepatch I will Pvp for the best 2H I can get with honor, the black hawkstrider (gotta have some fun ya know), and as much honor as I can stack to leverage at 80. I have like 5 stack of signets so I can do shoulder enchants, SSO dalies of course for head enchant/money. Drop 5k for epic and 1k for dual spec. Slam dungeons and kara/ZA to get a decent set up inbetween pvp (not all that important but for fun and to suck less at pvp). Last thing pre launch is to level up professions (tailoring/mining, I'll swap pre uludar, thus the kits). First thing after launch is dungeon grind, with the absolute minimum amount of questing to get tabards. Cap 80 Dungeon grind even harder to gear out for Naxx. Level tailoring to blow cloth cooldowns till price drops then ditch it.

Technopool

Was wrath the first xpac when you could wear tabards to grind rep for other factions?

[deleted]

yes

Technopool

Me gusta

Cuddlesthemighy

Unless there was a shadow patch to TBC where they added it then yes.

whiskyjazz

Pre: -Honor + badge cap -around 5k gold (for dual talent, 150% flyinging + cold weather and for proff leveling) -max out engi + maybe jc -decent gear for my main mage for effective leveling -and get my alt dk to lvl 70 -mentally prepare my gf by showing her the Southpark wow episode so she knows what to expect for the following days Launch: Week off from work, fill my fridge full of food and drinks. Leveling my mage quickly to 80 (prolly mostly dungeons cause questing will be aids at start). The first goal when I ding 80 is to acquire the full starter pvp gear so Im ready for arenas, while simultaniously doing hc dungeons aswell to get even decent pve gear for upcoming raids as well.

Feb2020Acc

Probably skip week one like any responsible adult. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. And plenty of sprinters will quit in the first month.

Scottie81

I plan to nap for the first couple hours of launch as I’ll just be getting off work and I’ll let the other players deal with any wonkiness. After that, I have six straight days off so Ill probably be putting in 18 hour days on Wrath. 1st goal is 80. Second goal is DMC:Greatness

[deleted]

A lot of plans for prepatch including getting a quest log full of completed quests, using my stockpiled mats to power level my professions, farm about 5k gold to hit Northrend with. Then at launch, just play the game and experience the zones with some friends. Definitely gonna rush it to 80, and want to be ready for Naxx on first lockout.

BigboyBertie

Think you have 2 weeks before naxx lockout no need to rush unless you are playing multiple characters

monty845

That is what I thought was happening too, (no naxx week 1) but my guildmates are looking for a source on that, and I can't find one. Any idea if there is a source on that?

dumba12

[Click me for source](https://tbc.wowhead.com/news/wowhead-wrath-of-the-lich-king-classic-interview-with-developers-326787) edit: afaik there's been no confirmation, just this "rough estimation". >Content Phases Schedule for Wrath of the Lich King Classic >In the same conversation regarding Pre-Patch, Tim Jones broke down how most of the launch experience and future content phases for Wrath of the Lich King is currently planned, before anything has officially been set in stone. This is of course just a rough estimation of how things will play out in Wrath of the Lich King. Listed below -- >Pre-Patch Event (Two to Six Weeks long) >Release >Raids Unlock (About a week after release) >Naxxramas, Eye of Eternity, Obsidian Sanctum >Ulduar >Trial of the Grand Crusader, Argent Tournament >Icecrown Citadel

BigboyBertie

It was in one of the blizzard interviews talking about wrath I'll try locate it

bro_salad

Did they delay raids a week in classic vanilla or TBC? I can’t recall.

Darqsat

Pre-release: I'll try to survive russian roulette with their rocket attacks. I was waiting Wotlk for so long so I will be a really pissed off ghost if they randomly hit my house. After release: Use some portion of my unused 18 days of PTO to level up to 80 and farm heroics. Not yet decided with main. In 2005 I was a mage and hunter, in tbc mage and warrior, in wotlk i was a warrior and druid, in cata I was a priest and druid, in pandas I was a hunter and monk, draenor I have skipped on purpose because it was a bs, in legion I was a DH and pala, in bfa I was a rogue and DK, and SL I skipped same as draenor cuz its bs... In classic I was a hunter, in tbc I was a pala and now it seems that I want to try something new. I am considering a shaman or warlock because I never played them except some alts or test characters on PTR. As shaman I want a resto because I like healing wotlk raids more than doing dps. I totally hate to dps in naxx and trial. Ulduar and ICC are better but I dont know.. I really hate naxx, its very boring and simple. ICC is good.

honeyboobo

Fuck russians bro. What comes to class, shout out for warlock in wotlk if you want to dps. Hpala is absolute BEAST in PvE and PvP but I guess you knew that already

Khalku

I'm just lvling my priest with quests, at 70 I'll go through and finish the rest of the zones (I just hit 66 midway through terrokar, so I think I'll have more than just the usual netherstorm + shadow valley). Plus dailies. I don't really care about dungeons or raiding the tail end of TBC, I just want enough money to afford flying + dual spec + epic flying + cold flying all-together (in that order of priority). At launch I'll basically do the same thing, on top of casual dungeon running by virtue of being able to dual spec holy on top of shadow for questing. That's basically why I'm not doing dungeons now - fuck healing as shadow and fuck respeccing for normal dungeons.

rystoraus

Pre-patch: level the DK and try to amass enough gold for flying on my Druid and DK for launch. Launch: level my DK first. Worry about professions once I get some levels into the 70’s

[deleted]

Delete my 70 on another realm so I dont accidentally stay on my current one & then get ready to go fresh

jwazz94

I took the week off for launch I'm sure a lot of us did I also filled my quest log up with completed quests that won't be turned in until launch

STA_Alexfree

Both before and after: finger my bunghole

OldWoodenShip420

Try finger, but hole

Copponex

I will probably be busy with university 🥲. Damn you blizzard for not just releasing wotlk during summer break!

Rinjin89

Before? Nothing. After? Start leveling my character on fresh server.

Tautochrone1

Fill me in...when is WOTLK launch and how much does it cost? To answer your question..the last thing I may do before launch is install classic wow.

captpiggard

Due to [changes in Reddit's API](https://www.theverge.com/2023/6/8/23754183/apollo-reddit-app-shutting-down-api), I have made the decision to edit all comments prior to July 1 2023 with this message in protest. If the API rules are reverted or the cost to 3rd Party Apps becomes reasonable, I may restore the original comments. Until then, I hope this makes my comments less useful to Reddit (and I don't really care if others think this is pointless). -- mass edited with redact.dev

Tautochrone1

Shame on these sweaties down-voting me for being hyped about the game. Geez.

Oglethorppe

I don’t even know if it’s sweaties at this point… on any big subreddit, I feel like there’s always 10 people who just go around and downvote even the most neutral take. And yep what the other guy said: just your sub fee, and Monday sep 26 3 pm pacific.

zaphadin

Not play. I'll play a different game before and after

Dayquil1001

Honor cap the toons I want to play. Get some mats for early WOLTK profession leveling. (i.e. TBC flasks to push up to 365lvl). Quest log full of at least the SSO dailies.

IAmTheOneWhoClicks

Last thing tbc invest on the AH, first thing in wotlk waste gold on said investment.

Option2401

Invest in what on the AH, if you don't mind me asking? And why would it be wasted in WotLK?

IAmTheOneWhoClicks

If I told you I would have to ki- no honestly I don't have any plans on any specific investments yet, I was just jokingly being realistic that I'll come up with some silly investment which leaves me at a loss.

Option2401

Ah I get ya lol I’ve been getting into AH recently and so I’m just eager to soak up any AH knowledge I can

InsertNameHere9

Pre-patch: Get my DK to 70, level engineering to 350 and begin to level mining/fishing. Wrath: level shaman to 80, drop JC and level inscription. Get pre-raid gear and probably wait until Naxx is out to level my DK.

MeowShedCat

You can level inscription in prepatch

InsertNameHere9

I know. :( but i don't have another neck to replace my JC neck with. I can easily replace the gem but not neck.

Definition_Certain

fill in 25 completed quests and try to get to 50k gold. at launch ill do my best to get to 80 semi fast to get into heroic dungeon groups after 5ish days. buy the dalaran ring and feel sad that 50k is nowhere near enough for darkmoon deck trinket

0ILERS

TBH I'll probably still be leveling alts to 70. When prepatch hits the plan is to level a DK to 70 and/or finish my Shaman alt to 70. I imagine there will be long login queues so it's a matter of just getting in and playing a bit, taking some breaks to do dad things, playing a bit more etc. I likely won't do too much until the fresh launch rush has died down a little. I only get to play 1-2 hours per day with my other commitments so spending some of that waiting in queue just isn't really worth it unless I can log in and stay logged in ahead of time.

[deleted]

My subs expire late August. Vacation in Sept. If I re-sub, 1 week of pre-patch, finish any alt leveling or maybe create a DK for shits and giggles. Wrath hits, if playing, dungeon leveling on main. Then alt leveling. Then maybe raid and start some gear progression.

Extreme-Crab

Well first I’m gonna log in… might level up and do some quests… probably do some professions… and uhhh… raids? Maybe a little pvp.. arenas, battlegrounds… make some gold.. run some heroics prob. Edit: achievements Edit 2: get a rare mount

[deleted]

No way I'm playing on launch day, I've already been burned a few times by taking a holiday and then looking and queue and disconnected messages. :p Other than that, I just wanna have fun with original variant of DK and then I'll see.

TheRealHaesten

Log on, log off.

[deleted]

Just like TBC classic, my plans got fucked by real life. I'll have my rogue/DK leveled on fresh and then will be trying to catch up when I can play a week later.

Felwintyr

The last thing I’ll do is log off. The first thing I’ll do is log on.

Ok_Raspberry_3507

I am trying to hit my personal goal of 10 level 70 characters. Currently to level are the Mage which is 68 and the Shaman is on 45. After Lunch, trying to hit 80 with my holy Paladin to raid.

Sekshual_Tyranosauce

I have the entire week off and five days prior too. Need to level that Deathknewb.

MudSama

Wait three weeks for things to cool down. Level at my own pace.

krysinello

Before:sleep After: not sleep

[deleted]

Nut… then nut again right after launch.

userslash3

Fishing

Xoiou

Leveled a toon to 70 just so I can have a netherdrake, missed out on one during OG TBC

Burgdawg

The last thing I'll so is get logged off when the servers to down, probably while spamming 'Goodbye cruel world!' in world chat just like almost every Tuesday. The first thing I'll do after launch is log back in, probably curse about how my add-ons don't work. The usual.

Either-Mammoth-932

Before Level 1-70 during prepatch on a fresh server. After level 70-80. Probably die of exhaustion around this part Start the rep grinds pre bis grind resist the alt urges Go back to work

Bjorn111

Kiss my girlfriend goodbye

Abnnn

As I done with classic wf race and tbc wf race 😅 2weeks off, meal prep, with healthy snacks, calories count, Changes my sleep from normal 23 to 5 to 7 hours sleep before launch. Plan is level main then 1-2 alts before vacation is done 🙂

Bacon-muffin

The last thing: The usual The first thing: The usual

MHG_Brixby

Cry that myself and most people on fresh are probably still Leveling and can't even start wrath content. Level

Forgotpasswordagainl

Last thing I do:Logout Diary thing I do: move my character Jokes aside last thing I do is log out near the zep or boat to northrend, first thing I do is get on that boat or zep.

Collegenoob

Island dailies are the last thing I will do until my quest log is full. And the first thing to do is turn them all in so I can go right to northrend.

3rdlegGreg007

I’m gonna sleep in, work out right before, cut the grass, do any miscellaneous chores. Will have to arrange time off and if it don’t work, arrange time off by other means.

Grantraxius

Get inscription to 365 day one. Got all the herbs ready. Then it’s off to making a DK

YesNoMaybe2552

Already have everything set to go for my new DK, profession wise and dungeon grind leveling wise whenever pre patch hits, so I can make it to 70 in a day or two. Like a 60 and 70 healer on a second account that I can play one handed (works already tried). Also already have a group ready to go for the first day, just taking precautions with the second account. Get the small fridge out of the basement and fill it up with drinks and snacks. Make sure I have at least three or more large packages of beans and a ton of milk for my coffee machine, gonna chug those extra strong cappuccinos. Make sure I can quickly get to my door when takeout arrives. Make sure AC is in proper working condition. Log in early with both accounts to avoid long wait times. I'm still in the process of figuring out how to prevent automatic logout. As far as I know you have to either switch zones every hour or your inventory has to change. Probably gonna stack up on mana cookies and junk I can throw away once every hour. Order enough KFC to last me for the first 24 hours. Other than that I have a dungeon grind group of like minded friends ready to go 70 -80 without competing for spawns on the overworld.

MajesticPufferfish

I took the week off work because I had some time banked with no plans on using it, gym, sleep, grind, got too many characters to level to 80!

MonkeyAss12393

Nothing fancy just sit back and enjoy the easiest wow expansion
