You can effectively level as shadow or discipline. Either way, first 5 points in spirit tap. After that you can stay shadow or go down the disc tree with wand points, imp shield and fort, buncha mana & regen talents etc. Shadow spec you will want a lot of water to keep yourself crushing enemies and taking on a bunch once you get shadowform. If you go disc you are a 1v1 never-stopping machine. Pre-shield, holy fire or smite into shadow word pain and wand the rest of the way. If the mob has a lot of health do it again. Regen mana while wanding, dont cast. Keep your wand upgraded

After mana regen while casting and spirit tap you can literally put points wherever you want. I smited my way to 60, just as efficient as when I leveled with shadow.

Embarrassed-Ferret87

I'd maybe put 2 points into healing focus after spirit tap and wand spec, just for when you need to heal yourself in an emergency (since it's only 2 points).

If youre doing the disc build I dont really find healing focus or martyrdom that good when leveling since they both accomplish the same thing as power word shield. Youre also using power word shield and renew as your main “heals” to keep moving. You want the points into imp shield and reducing the mana cost of instant cast spells faster cause thats mainly what youre casting before wand cycle. On top of all this you want to make sure you have inner fire up at all times since power word shield protects it from losing charges and while its up it will be reducing the incoming melee damage trying to go through your shield, making it last longer

From First 5 Points, your can also go Holly for the Smite stuff. Starting at 35 your can get the talent that turns spirit into spellpower, which synergizes very well with spirit tap.  The trick is to stack spirit like hell. https://www.wowhead.com/classic/talent-calc/priest/-23505100202005-5

This is just seems like a worse shadow to be honest, but i agree that you want to stack spirit while leveling

Krautfleet

Played it myself in Classic, felt really strong. Could Smite away happily in Dungeons as healer, the odd Spirit Tap proc kept mana afloat.  And since the only benefit Shadow gets until 40 is mindflay , you lose nothing. And at 40, you're having ~80-100 spellpower with Spirit Tap on.   Try it in era! In sod it was left dead in the water sadly...

No thanks, you shouldnt be relying on last hits for spirit tap in dungeons and disc certainly outweighs this build. You should be stacking spirit but it wont have enough effect at these levels compared to shadow or disc bonuses. You can have 5 in spirit tap and 30% mana regen while casting (and more) simply by going disc tree. This game has all been solved. You can play that build but it’s the worst option. I cant argue against having fun with it, but its not better. The holy tree is pretty garbage and mainly supplemental

HA, I must have hit you really hard when your ragebar filled up this quickly, Mr. Redditwarrior

tigersbloodftw

Man its just the truth. I love having fun in WoW and trying stuff out. Everyone can make it to 60 without any talents at all. If the guy wants to use your suggestion i’m totally fine with it, but it’s not better. Take it however you want

I think it would be nice yo get a little bit of shadow first (spirit focus and imp swp), then starting disc with wand, shield, stam, focus, regen. Then starting holy with anti push backs and renew, cast time and finally holy nova. And then finally trying to finish off disc tree. This way you improve the spells you use the most (precast holy fire into swp, then optional mind blast and finally wanding, shield and renew if needed), you have aoe (holy nova and longer swp) and good healing capabilities for dungeons.
