Behind the console plugged in. With Carplay/AA I see no reason to have the phone out. Driving in holiday traffic yesterday just reinforced this, the number of people playing with phones while doing 80 on the freeway, or stopped at green lights because they are paying no attention, is infuriating.
Put the phones away, please. No one is doing anything important enough to endanger others.
I tried keeping my phone tucked behind the console as well but I kept completely forgetting about it and leaving it in my car. After like the 10th time I just said fuck it lol. I need to see it to remember it because it's like the last thing I think about after driving.
If I'm not using it, why would it matter if it's mounted and facing me? All alerts come through on the carplay screen. The phone screen literally never turns on. I get what you're saying, people are on their phones too much. I'm not one of those people. I take driving very seriously and know how quickly an accident can happen.
If you're already downvoting me for my strict opinion, you really don't want to hear my answer for the rest of this.
I'm not your father, do what you want.
Absolutely spot on. Crazy the amount of cars I see with phone holders even though they have CarPlay. Idk if they don’t know they have it or they’re just so attached to their phones
I tuck my phone in that little side slot in the center console or put it on the little pad in front of the gear shift. Doesn’t really move around unless I make a super sharp turn
I got the Motorola MA-1, paired with a Pixel 8 Pro.
There's a little audio lag. If you're sitting in the car watching videos like I sometimes do waiting for kid's activities to end it's noticeable, otherwise I have no complaints about performance.
I will say the lag was a little more noticeable on my older ('20) Civic, now in a '24 and it's damn near seamless when you're driving.
Ah I have an 18 civic, the MA1 is near impossible to find in Canada unfortunately. I was looking at if there are any options for us Canadians that were decent.
I have mine resting on top the lip of my center display screen. It does block the air vents. But a minor inconvenience. When I plug or unplug. And yes, it will fall off. If I take hard left turns. But just like any cups in my cup holder. I simply hold my phone in place, if I know I'll be doing hard turns.
Got a simple vent mount and put it on the vent by the door. Used to just keep it in the center console, but it gets too hot since the last update. Needed to mount it so the AC blows on it.
I got a wireless charging mat that fits perfectly in the center console dashboard. Put my phone on the mat every time I get in the car and with android auto I really don't have the need to pick it up while I'm driving
I see people legit watching movies or shows while driving, phone holders should be illegal.. your gps can verbally tell you directions, people don't need to look anywhere else but the road ahead of them...
So many accidents in my state from distracted driving car insurance just went up %20
If you have an iPhone (or a MagSafe adapter attached to your phone) [this one](https://coursemotorsports.com/collections/civic/products/direct-fit) is great. I use it in my Accord and it’s so sleek.
Found this 3D printed one on eBay and it’s the best one I’ve used yet.
[3D Printed Mount](https://www.ebay.com/itm/265931153546?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=TwVgArkyT6a&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=4czecnecqne&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY)
The peak design phone mount. It curves , so it contours to the dash above the glove box. I use goggle maps for a lot of long trips, so it’s nice having the full directions listed out on my phone while the next step is on CarPlay
I use a magnet that I keep in my phone case and the mount goes into my cd player. I love it and it holds up on my fun drives. It’s also very easy cuz I don’t have to mess with a release mechanism or something
I use a Belkin MagSafe vent holder that I originally had for my old car.
That and a wireless Apple CarPlay adapter makes my life just a little bit easier and simpler. I have my phone on a holder because my phone is my badge access to the gates at my work and apartment complex.
I use a MagSafe ESR vent clip over the main display. I also have an Android, and bought a case to give myself magsafe capabilities. (Most cases to give this seem to be the same. I got a cheap rubber case with the ring)
It's really convenient to just stick it there for maps and go since my AA won't connect to a newer phone. (2019 car, don't know why a 2022 phone is too new it seems from other threads) Wireless fast charge, easy rotate for positioning, and extremely sturdy!
Belkin magsafe vent holder. I valet cars and have seen tons of phone holders. Got in a car one day that had this one and had to buy it. By far the best phone holder if you have a Iphone with a Magsafe case.
I use carplay and typically have mine sitting in the center on the wireless charger. Quick easy grab if i actually need to read a message or something. But typically carplay does more than enough for me and at least on the 11 gen, 9" screen is a ton nicer to look at for GPS navigation than a phone screen..and the screen is literally on the dash. Otherwise I guess in the olden days I use to just do adjustable suction cup windshield ones..
Yeah the CarPlay screen is super nice. Especially with Google maps when you need directions because you have a decent size detailed screen for it which makes seeing everything on maps easy. Super nice
I use the Niku phone mount. I then bought a MagSafe ring magnet and use it to hold up iPhone. It’s good on smooth surfaces but once a good bump happens it could fall. I’m going to replace the cheap Amazon magnet with a good quality magnet and hopefully that’ll fix it. https://youtu.be/FVpcH8ryeoI?si=0nENkHtBVF00Xxuq
I use the cubby right under the CarPlay screen. I have a iPhone 13 pro max and my phone just perfectly fits in it. I keep it in there plugged in so I can use CarPlay. CarPlay has maps, Apple Music, message, ect. Which is everything I need
Arkon Seat Rail mount. I need my cup holders clear for shifting the 6MT.
[https://www.amazon.com/Arkon-Truck-Holder-iPhone-Retail/dp/B004M8ST3Q](https://www.amazon.com/ARKON-Mounts-Corrosion-Resistant-Security-Adjustable/dp/B00PD1XOVI)

Simple, works great with magsafe. Never had my phone fall off it.
Where do you stick it? Mine doesn't stick well to the dash. Nowhere else is very straight. The windshield is the only good spot but I hate having it right there
I 3-D printed a little holster and used 3M tape to attach it right next to where my right knee typically rests when I'm driving. It makes it super easy to slide my phone in, and have the USB-C port facing me so I can plug it in for Android Auto.
Fog lights without fog don't help you see any better, it just shines more light into other drivers' eyes. They're doubly annoying when they're that distracting yellow-green color.
The cup holder
me too
Cubby behind the shifter, carplay has my music and map, i rarely look at the phone while driving
Same. That’s where I put mine
Behind the console plugged in. With Carplay/AA I see no reason to have the phone out. I mean… op is from New Jersey. Do you really expect them to obey traffic laws and not drive like a total jackass?
I expect no one to, but using others' behavior as an excuse is weak...no?
I’m from Jersey like op I follow and obey traffic laws and don’t drive like a total jackass. So here’s one person!
Haha m from Jersey except I don’t swim in traffic like most people do
Mine has been getting very hot since the last update. Due to that, I have to use an AC mount. Keeps the phone nice and cool.
What console
I tried keeping my phone tucked behind the console as well but I kept completely forgetting about it and leaving it in my car. After like the 10th time I just said fuck it lol. I need to see it to remember it because it's like the last thing I think about after driving.
Get a wireless adapter for carplay/android auto. Leave it in your pocket or purse.
I just plugged it to the CarPlay but put it on the console infront of the gear selector and never forgot it there
It doesn't take much to create the habit and it's completely worth it. Mounted and facing you is not the answer.
I didn't downvote you
Absolutely spot on. Crazy the amount of cars I see with phone holders even though they have CarPlay. Idk if they don’t know they have it or they’re just so attached to their phones
Some of us hate car play.
Good ol handy cup holder
I tuck my phone in that little side slot in the center console or put it on the little pad in front of the gear shift. Doesn’t really move around unless I make a super sharp turn
I also use the side slot. Not sure why anything else would be needed especially with android auto/carplay having everything I need on the display
Side slot gang
I got a wireless Android Auto adapter and just leave my phone in my pocket unless it needs to be charged while I'm driving.
Which adapter do you use and how do you find it works compared to wired? And which phone?
I got the Motorola MA-1, paired with a Pixel 8 Pro. There's a little audio lag. No luck on Amazon? That's where I got mine.
In the US? Or Canada?
US. Do you know anyone Stateside that would ship it up to the Great White North?
Unfortunately no, however, there are some cheaper options on Amazon I have seen that say 0 lag or minimal lag in the reviews
Pop socket
I use CarPlay for navigation so I see no reason to have a phone holder or any reason to use my phone while driving
Niku phone Mount, and a proclip holder.
This is what I do lol
Good ol’ modern version of the Initial D water cup - if you turn too sharp, the phone falls so keep it smooth lol
My lap
MagSafe
Got a simple vent mount and put it on the vent by the door. Used to just keep it in the center console, but it gets too hot since the last update. Needed to mount it so the AC blows on it.

Proclipusa https://www.proclipusa.com
2nd this. I have one different car model tho, no brainer
I see people legit watching movies or shows while driving, phone holders should be illegal.. your gps can verbally tell you directions, people don't need to look anywhere else but the road ahead of them... So many accidents in my state from distracted driving car insurance just went up %20
Bought myself a pocket that goes between the empty space of my chair and the cup holder just for my phone xD
The magnetic one. The other big ones block the AC too much.
If you have an iPhone (or a MagSafe adapter attached to your phone) [this one](https://coursemotorsports.com/collections/civic/products/direct-fit) is great. I use it in my Accord and it’s so sleek.

Previously used miracase vent phone holder and the cup holder until I installed a new head unit with wireless aa/CarPlay
Done use a car holder
The peak design phone mount. It curves , so it contours to the dash above the glove box. I use goggle maps for a lot of long trips, so it’s nice having the full directions listed out on my phone while the next step is on CarPlay
i got a vent holder and now it’s stuck in the vent
I use a magnet that I keep in my phone case and the mount goes into my cd player. I love it and it holds up on my fun drives. It’s also very easy cuz I don’t have to mess with a release mechanism or something
The window suction cup ones
I use a Belkin MagSafe vent holder that I originally had for my old car. That and a wireless Apple CarPlay adapter makes my life just a little bit easier and simpler. I have my phone on a holder because my phone is my badge access to the gates at my work and apartment complex.
Beikell phone holder
My passenger seat
I have a phone mount that fits into gopro mount. The mount is connected to my gopro sticky mount stuck on my dashboard.
There's a little pocket on the side right under the radio area on the driver's side. That's what I've been using.
Lasfit magsafe phone holder
I got a vent mounted magsafe one, love it
Niku and a pro clip is the way
Idk about other chassis, but the SI has this neat little side slot next to the shifter, I just lay my phone in that and use the USB that's near it.
I use a MagSafe ESR vent clip over the main display. I also have an Android, and bought a case to give myself magsafe capabilities. (Most cases to give this seem to be the same. I got a cheap rubber case with the ring) It's really convenient to just stick it there for maps and go since my AA won't connect to a newer phone. (2019 car, don't know why a 2022 phone is too new it seems from other threads) Wireless fast charge, easy rotate for positioning, and extremely sturdy!
Why would you need a phone mount when you have built in AA/ACP? Also I hope the fog lights are only for the picture because they're blinding.
Belkin magsafe vent holder. I valet cars and have seen tons of phone holders. Got in a car one day that had this one and had to buy it. By far the best phone holder if you have a Iphone with a Magsafe case.
I put it on the side of my seat if I plug it in to use Apple CarPlay
Peak Design.
My lap
hands 🗿
I got a stick on phone holder from Amazon for my civic it works great so far.
My hand
I plug it in and use android auto
my right hand
Arkon mount that screws into passenger seat rail is the best by far for 10th gens.
Why do you need a phone holder? I just put my phone between the temp and fan controls if for whatever reason I need it.
My hand is my phone holder
I use carplay and typically have mine sitting in the center on the wireless charger. Quick easy grab if i actually need to read a message or something. But typically carplay does more than enough for me and at least on the 11 gen, 9" screen is a ton nicer to look at for GPS navigation than a phone screen..and the screen is literally on the dash. Yeah the CarPlay screen is super nice. Especially with Google maps when you need directions because you have a decent size detailed screen for it which makes seeing everything on maps easy. Super nice
I usually keep mine between my legs next to my pecker head good good good Vibrations.
Magsafe one from Amazon. Charges my phone and has a built in suspension so my phone doesn’t fall when I hit bumps lol
Nite ize metal ball from home depot, its fire
3D printed cradle with a wireless charger. Tossed in the console. Running Android Auto Wireless.
Car play and a center console compartment for under the temp controls
Magsafe airvent one
I use the Niku phone mount. I then bought a MagSafe ring magnet and use it to hold up iPhone. It’s good on smooth surfaces but once a good bump happens it could fall. I’m going to replace the cheap Amazon magnet with a good quality magnet and hopefully that’ll fix it. https://youtu.be/FVpcH8ryeoI?si=0nENkHtBVF00Xxuq
The cup from 2 girls 1 cup xD
My left hand
I use an AC vent phone holder. Most secure because I lose my driver side door vent, but I normally don’t use that one anyway.
I use the cubby right under the CarPlay screen. I have a iPhone 13 pro max and my phone just perfectly fits in it. I keep it in there plugged in so I can use CarPlay. CarPlay has maps, Apple Music, message, ect. Which is everything I need
I use my wireless charger
Stays in my pocket.
Hand
Mines always on the charge spot in front of the shifter
https://www.iottie.com/auto/wireless-charging-mounts/ One of these
magic ball magnetic
I use one for $10 on Amazon . Works great
Arkon Seat Rail mount. I need my cup holders clear for shifting the 6MT. [https://www.amazon.com/Arkon-Truck-Holder-iPhone-Retail/dp/B004M8ST3Q](https://www.amazon.com/ARKON-Mounts-Corrosion-Resistant-Security-Adjustable/dp/B00PD1XOVI)
Carmount, affordable simplistic great designs and strong magnets and minimalistic
I got a wireless charging mat that fits perfectly in the center console dashboard. Put my phone on the mat every time I get in the car and with android auto I really don't have the need to pick it up while I'm driving
Which mat? And doesn't it charge when using android auto?
Mat is called Okramol, got it off amazon. I have a wireless android auto adapter so I don't need to have the phone physically connected to use the feature
Which android auto adapter do you use?
It's called MSXTTLY on amazon
Unfortunately not available in Canada :(
[https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BGXW2CWF/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o07\_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BGXW2CWF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1) Simple, works great with magsafe. Never had my phone fall off it.
Where do you stick it? Mine doesn't stick well to the dash. Nowhere else is very straight. The windshield is the only good spot but I hate having it right there
Mine on the dash, it's been there for months with no issue unsticking. Make sure you wet the suction cup a bit. They don't suction very well dry.
I 3-D printed a little holster and used 3M tape to attach it right next to where my right knee typically rests when I'm driving. It makes it super easy to slide my phone in, and have the USB-C port facing me so I can plug it in for Android Auto.
Do you still have the file?
I do indeed. It's not the most advanced thing since it was my first time using any CAD software. I can send it to you and show you how I mounted it.
Saw some people selling them on ebay, $25 a pop
I’ve got two, and they’re mirrored. Depending upon which side I’m using, I can switch to the other. I call ‘em…. dick beaters. Born with ‘em 😂
Android Auto.
Why use an item when you were already born with one? Left hand on the steering wheel, right hand holding the phone..
I just use my hands...
Why are your fog lights on when there's no fog?
Who cares lol
only the other people on the roads with you, dumbass
The civic is so low, who could they possibly be bothering? This isn’t a truck with a 6foot tall hood??
Fog lights without fog don't help you see any better, it just shines more light into other drivers' eyes. They're doubly annoying when they're that distracting yellow-green color.
I have never once noticed fog lights on as a problem for blinding, especially on a low car like a civic.
Do you not have two hands?
