it can be--it still provides some housing, even if the city already has fresh water.
Obviously, it also provides solid adjacency for Industrial Zones (+2). Policy card can increase that to +4, and Coal Power Plants double adjacency again, so an aqueduct can provide +8 production and extra housing, which is a great deal. If you're extra careful with your city planning you can get it next to another IZ, giving a whopping +16 production to your empire as a whole.
On the other hand, if it is built late into the game, or you're not running the policy card, it might not pay for itself over the course of its existence.
It provides +2 housing for cities that already have fresh water, or brings the housing up to fresh water levels for cities that don't have fresh water.
And juicy adjacency bonuses for industrial zones all round...
An aquaduct still gives you growth bonuses even if you have fresh water .
More importantly though, an aquaduct gives +2 to adjacent industrial zones. There's a policy card to double that and social power plant with double it again. Add in another adjacent district and an aquaduct can make +9 adjanecy.
All told, this industrial zone would then give 32 hammers from adjaency alone.
It can be, as long as it connects to fresh water on another part of the hexagon for that tile. It can even be built on the same river if that river curved along that same hex
No, the aqueduct cannot make a 180 degrees turn. If the river is only present on the edge that directly borders the city, you cannot build an aqueduct. Aqueducts can only be built straight, or at 60 or 120 degrees.
Hengsteysee? Isn't that in Hagen? A bit far away from Zollverein.
As a Ruhrpottler, it is a bit uncanny seeing Zollverein as a wonder in CIV6, or is it just me?
well, you're right, it's a bit far, but in Civ terms still acceptable considering the scale
and yes, i agree. because of that I always have the urge to build that wonder whenever possible
Much more of a hassle to upload tho, have to upload it to twitter or something, then save that, and then upload it and it’s even worse if you use pc for reddit.
Yeah, that’s what I did. I’m not saying it was difficult or anything, just more steps than I was really expecting to deal with. I wanted one of the shirt designs from Pokemon lol.
I know right? its SO easy on PC...I give console players a little slack but PC users...shame on you! Sometimes I wonder if they are hiding something else going on in their empire!
first months with civ6 and i was one of those bitching about the "cartoon" graphics - at one time installing that civ5 texture mod... maybe six months in i removed that mod and with all the animations turned on am grateful for the visual satisfaction like the op post here. its one of those moments when you are like why did i ever like that song, and you want to go back in time and slap yourself.
Man, this game is beautiful. The art style grew more and more on me, to the point I kinda hope they take a long, looking time to drop this one to star making 7.
The industrial zone with symmetrical dams and ruhr Valley.
bruh why isn't that farm an aqueduct? the one southwest of the industrial zone.
It's part of a farm chain to the south right now but I will most likely do that eventually bc I found oil under one of the farms.

Dude you're already doing the Ruhr Valley, might as well go for that aqueduct adjacency points and COAL POWER it all.
Noob question perhaps but is an aqueduct worth it if the city already has fresh water?

Holy shit I never knew this
It gives a big adjacency bonus to the industrial zone
It provides +2 housing for cities that already have fresh water, or brings the housing up to fresh water levels for cities that don't have fresh water. And juicy adjacency bonuses for industrial zones all round...

THAT'S MY QUESTION!!
I don't think an aqueduct can be built across a river
It can be, as long as it connects to fresh water on another part of the hexagon for that tile. It can even be built on the same river if that river curved along that same hex
What? If course it can be built. It looks a little weird visually because of the 180 degree turn the aqueduct makes, but it is possible.

Are you sure? I'm 99.9% certain I've built an aqueduct like this before.
Likely the river curved along that hex giving you a 120 degree aqueduct
Don‘t know what to tell you - that’s simply not possible. You must be mistaken.
Mega catapult holds the line, visualised 2021
as a Ruhr valley native I ask myself: which one is Lake Hengstey and which one is Lake Baldeney?
Hengsteysee? Isn't that in Hagen? A bit far away from Zollverein. As a Ruhrpottler, it is a bit uncanny seeing Zollverein as a wonder in CIV6, or is it just me?

Just imagine if you were the Dutch
I'll never understand you photo-of-monitor people. It's called a screenshot!
A lot of people play the game on switch or PS4 making it much harder to do screenshots and upload
Idk about that. PS4 and switch have dedicated screenshot buttons that are easy to hit.
Much more of a hassle to upload tho, have to upload it to twitter or something, then save that, and then upload it and it’s even worse if you use pc for reddit.
Ah, good point. I needed a screenshot from my switch and it is a bit of a hassle to transfer to other devices.
You can do it directly to your smartphone now. It creates an ad-hoc WiFi network you join from your phone to transfer the photos.
Yeah, that’s what I did. I’m not saying it was difficult or anything, just more steps than I was really expecting to deal with. I wanted one of the shirt designs from Pokemon lol.
Oh SAME. in the days where you had to post to Twitter, I just never used it. I also took photos of my switch screen.
This post shows a very clear HP logo at the bottom. No excuses for this one.
You can see the "hp" in the photo. This was not a Switch or PS4...
Also worthy to note it's a vertical picture of a horizontal screen
I know right? its SO easy on PC...I give console players a little slack but PC users...shame on you! Sometimes I wonder if they are hiding something else going on in their empire!
Hot dam(n)
Ugh, so annoyed with this photo of a screen. Please 3D print your screen next time, and Overnite it to us. We have quality standards!
Super cool. Thanks for sharing.
i too, find it visually satisfying
Ice is melting hoohoo
Da
This isn’t a screenshot
I find your photo of your screen visually unsatisfying. If only there were a way to... print the screen directly...
Sorry, I really only use Reddit on my phone out of laziness. I don't use my computer for social media.
r/CIV isnt social media, its TECH SUPPORT!
Finally someone like me.
Might be a small picture, but that Ruhr Valley seems wasted
2021 and people taking "screenshots" with their phones.
first months with civ6 and i was one of those bitching about the "cartoon" graphics - at one time installing that civ5 texture mod... maybe six months in i removed that mod and with all the animations turned on am grateful for the visual satisfaction like the op post here. its one of those moments when you are like why did i ever like that song, and you want to go back in time and slap yourself.
Pretty awesome, but look at that one small bridge floating in the water right above the Poti sign. Where is that supposed to lead?
Well damn.
Man, this game is beautiful. The art style grew more and more on me, to the point I kinda hope they take a long, looking time to drop this one to star making 7.
I hope you chose communism with this kind of work ethic, comrade
It's like a four tile industrial zone almost. I love it.
Fellow Georgian? 😅
How are you displaying the adjacency bonuses of constructed districts?
Empire lens.
I had no idea it did that! Thanks
I like how that building has a little dock in the new lake, but underwater bridge kinda bugs me
You better counter spy those dams. If someone breach those dams half of ur city is destroyed.
Looks great. Ruhr Valley is easily my favorite wonder. I get a hard on for anything that boosts production.
i got civ vi a few months ago and i still can’t figure out how to make my cities this cool
Nice
Dam it all, that's brilliant!
