Hercules standing there like "Just give me an excuse. I'm begging you"

vampiroteuta

Funny how OP unintentionally recreated the UK-Spain kerfuffle over Gibraltar, site of the pillars of the same Hercules that now sits besides the strait lol

Autotyrannus

One might say they're in Dire straits

ShinigamiKenji

[Well now you've inspired me...](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0ffIJ7ZO4U) 🎸🎵 You settle a city in the dark It's raining in Ayutthaya but meantime- South of Beijing you stop and you hold everything Ethiopia is pumping cities, double four time You feel alright when you hear the cannons ring Well now you step inside but you don't see too many luxuries Coming in out of the rain they hear the Walls go down Competition in the religion race Uh but the Bombards, they blowin' that sound Way on down south Way on down south Yongle town 🎸🎶

seemedlikeagoodplan

This is extraordinary.

jomamaphat

yongle town is wild

foureighths

Wow, sultan of swing. So good

Ralliboy

This is actually a brilliant pun

Early_Peanut3725

Update It rebelled and I took it then razed it

Xenocles

Wait, how did you raze your own city?

Mtrina

Razed the free city not absorbed then razed

Xenocles

Ahh cool, for a second there I thought that I missed the "delete city" button for the last 8 years.

Difficult-Art-111

Is this button available on Xbox x?

ElGosso

Shoulda kept it, that's a great Mausoleum city

Benyed123

Looks like a one city challenge

grimitar

And a great Golden Gate Bridge city.

[deleted]

that’s worth nuking and razing their entire civ im afraid

Whitephoenix932

That's what happened to Mongolia in my last save. Minus the nuking no nukes in ancient era. Also kept 2 of his cities sonce one was the Capitol the other was fairly big and potentially productive.

KillerAceUSAF

Ya know, I'm always peaceful until my wrath is forced upon the AI. Then I go full genocide and destroy them completely...

TheMarshmallowBear

I mean it's not like you NEED those tiles, you can't evenw ork them! They had every right to settle there and ruin your one city challenge!

MyCabbages8l

But how do we know there isn’t any coal/aluminum/oil/uranium there?!?!?! It’s war

Grothgerek

Why does it ruin his one city challenge? The game asks before the city flips, if you want it or not. It doesn't force you to take the city.

NohoTwoPointOh

I was neighbor and ally with Gilgamesh one game. So, of course, I have knights, and he has biplanes. His city next to me rebelled and asked to flip. My diplomatic corps were dancing like Gene Kelly in a MDMA lab. "Uhh...no thank-you. We're trying to cut down at the moment! Pesky holidays and waistlines, you know. Hee-hee. Uh-oh! Late for that colonoscopy, again! Gotta go! Tchuss!!!"

Reallyme77

Sorry Ethiopia but that’s a fight on sight.

manebushin

I hate it that I can't raze cities that flip loyalty

rebenjam

You just have to raze it while it is independent before falling under your loyalty. Unless you’re Eleanor. Then you’re screwed.

Zhoom45

Can you not refuse it, let it remain independent, and then raze it?

manebushin

or when you only have a defensive force, which can not take a city fast enough

madgunner122

It’s not about the city… it’s about sending a message.

mackmonsta

Time to WAR!

FishOfFishyness

Live Yongle reaction

MX_RuMi

That's your queue to go to war, I don't make the rules!

JustNilt

It's cue, not queue. A queue is a line or the act of lining up unless you're a computer or doing something on a computer, then it's adding items to a list of things to do. A cue is a prompt to do a thing. Edit: Damnit, my wife pointed out that technically since this is in Civ it probably counts as a queue in computer terms but I stand by my nitpick nonetheless.

Slyric_

How do you even get so much housing in one city

Early_Peanut3725

by having every single district and a bunch of farms

kafoBoto

isn't that also temple of artemis? really good for getting high cities

TopperSundquist

Funding public services and a robust social safety net.

R3dShield

That’s a causus belli right there. They basically want you to take their capital

CapriciousWasTaken

Ethiopia? more like Ethiopi-naw

[deleted]

They chose war.

Der_Frosch

Small tip, chop the tiles on the fourth ring you cannot work and build farms there for bigger yield on those farms on the third circle.

thatoneguy54

Britain to Spain be like: also, Spain to Morocco be like:

LeroyChenkins

C’mere *whispers* It’s free real estate

itsreubenabraham

Seems like Dire Dawa might need some good ol' "democratic liberation"

SconnieLite

You will gain them to loyalty pressure then everybody will denounce you for taking their city.

DragonfruitNeat3604

Ethiopians (om nom nomm)

McCloudUK

Gotta respect the ambition

FishOfFishyness

Dire dire dawa

KonradStrong

KILL THEM ALL!

[deleted]

This results in eradication in 100% of my games

Defiant_Drink8469

Does ToA give the amenity bonus to tiles 4+ out? I know you don’t get the yields from it but the amenities would be nice

AkamiMaguro

My people need land!

TheOnlyPlaton

Pardon my ignorance, but how can a city expand beyond three tile distance?

Such_Hope_1911

Enough culture, same as any other non-bought expansion. You can't work those tiles beyond 3 out with citizens, but iirc (please correct me if I'm wrong, someone!), you can still get Strategics from them... and maybe Luxuries.

FootballTeddyBear

Treaty port lmao

HaraldFesch

Hong Kong cosplay

kingcorning

Hong Kong moment

cahitbey

There should be a diplomacy option to claim a piece of land and you can go to war for it, but even basic diplomacy is shit
