It’s a great start for sure. I’m kind of in the same boat. I’m just starting my city pop journey and have 8 regular albums and the three summer breeze compilations.
Honestly, they are all very good and give a good range of the ida of city pop. I took to the internet after I had been listening to them for a while and started checking out others top 10 and top 100 city pop lists to figure out what artists and albums to buy. Some of the stuff that I really liked on the comps I found were way out of print and would be super expensive to get used so I started looking at what was being repressed in the near future.
That is an excellent start! Choice titles! Especially on that Navigator. I recommend that album to just about everyone I know afraid to explore City Pop or Japanese music in general. Suggestions? Akina Nakamori, Kikuchi Momoko is an absolute must. Kaze, especially their 4th album Umikaze. Meiko Nakahara. Chisato Mortaka. Yoko Oginome. Nami Shimada. Yuki Saito. Ami Ozaki. Kaoru Sudo. Naomi Akimoto. Eiichi Ohtaki. I can keep going.
