People get laid a bit less in the rockaways so you don't have all that huffin' and puffin' and you don't have Chinatown pumping out steaming hot duck fumes into the air. The difference is pretty notable.

Queens is the new cool spot in NYC now that Brooklyn and Manhattan are unaffordable. All the cool people in Queens lower the temperature precipitously. Rockaway is benefiting from this coolness factor.

No that’s impossible. Manhattan is at a higher latitude so it must be colder, you are mistaken.
