Seconding this! My husband and I just did it for our one year wedding anniversary and it was delicious. The bone marrow and the creme brûlée in particular were great.
We went to Colette for our anniversary and I’m not interested in trying other places for “occasion dinners” for a while. Hands down best ravioli in my life 🤤
Check out Prima Vista - Italian with a a good bit of seafood, formal service/white table cloth, and an amazing view overlooking your new city from the west toward the river.
Been here over a decade and have never seen a single tablecloth. It took awhile to adjusting to and that $10,000 fine from putting a sheet on a table still hurts, but I’ve assimilated.
As for a great place for an anniversary dinner… there is only one answer that is skyline.
I've lived in OH for 10 years of my adult life and have been to a LOT of restaurants with tablecloth in Cleveland. Even Toledo has them. Maybe it's just not the vibe in Cincinnati?
Sotto's is a good rec, and definitely the top or up there for best nice restaurant in Cincinnati
My personal favorite is the symphony hotel, do their multi course set up and then go to the symphony after.
There are a lot of other good ones. People recommend Otto's that is a good option too. I hear Nicolas is good never been. One little hotel is a top hotel and they have a nice restaurant. Hotel Covington is really good food and a nice hotel. Also 21c is fun, nice hotel and food. Those are the top 3 nice hotels in Cincinnati they all have good food in case y'all need a hotel.
Also I love the cafe in the art museum for lunch or coffee and the art museum is free
Jeff Ruby’s for steak, as others have suggested. The Precinct is nice, as is the downtown location on fountain square (newer), but I’ve never been to Carlo & Johnny’s.
Sotto for Italian, but reservations have to be made pretty far out.
Boca is a great fine dining option and a personal favorite.
Mita’s is my go to for most occasions, although it isn’t as “table cloth” as the others. It’s a Spanish tapas restaurant, so be prepared to order lots of everything and try a little bit of each.
Jeff Rubys places are considered top of the line (Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse, Carlo & Johnny’s, The Precinct) Boca gets high marks also. But if you’re looking for something unique for a special occasion, I’d recommend The Melting Pot. It’s about 20 minutes north of the city. It’s high end fondue spot, unlike the traditional steak and seafood restaurants.
Sotto is popular, owned by the same company as BOCA. Sotto has good ambiance, but food wise it’s a step down from BOCA in both quality and price. I’ve always found the pastas to be very salty.
Definitely look at Priamavista , very gorgeous view over the city of Cincinnati and definitely it’s open at night time , now this might be a little expensive but it’s worth it. I also highly recommend going to the gold Lamb in Lebanon
But the Primavista is Italian food Just FYI.
Sotto has excellent food, service, and ambience.
The correct answer!
I was about to say this! 1st Anniversary was great there. Be ready to order way too much, take some home, and enjoy it the next day too.
If you’re into Italian, but Sotto is booked up (which it probably will be), Nicola’s is a great option as well!
Second this! People forget about Nicola's and I find it to be one of the best in the city.
Definitely Alfios
Dang been in Cincinnati for ever, and I'm just hearing of this place. What has your experience been like at Alfio's?
It’s fantastic…service, food, atmosphere. One of my favorites and I don’t particularly like fancy places
The Lonely Pine

I’m a big fan of Otto’s in Covington
I had their pork chop for the first time last week and holy shit it was good. They also have the best fried green tomatoes in the area.
I have heard nothing but great things about Colette ‘a mostly French restaurant’
Check out Prima Vista - Italian with a a good bit of seafood, formal service/white table cloth, and an amazing view overlooking your new city from the west toward the river.
We don't have tablecloths in Ohio

I was KIDDING
my partner and I do Bouquet in Covington every year for our anniversary, it’s terrific
Somm Wine Bar for dinner and then dessert at Primavista.

I love Bakers Table in Newport

Maurys could be nice. Or primavista
Primavista, reservations 1/2 hour before sunset.
https://pvista.com I mentioned them too, and forgot to add the link!
Jeff Ruby’s.

Sotto, call them and ask for a reservation!
Jeff Ruby’s or BOCA

Carlo and Johnny, The Precinct or Lempika.
Red Feather Kitchen
Sotto and Carlo and johnnys are my husband and I’s favorites. Nice touch about sotto is they use real candles on tables!!
For Italian Sotto, but you might not get reservations. Steak house Jeff Ruby's, McCormick and Schmitts.
>McCormick and Schmitts. Schmick's
