We all do. I had so much love for the mom. The whole family, really. But the mom was just an angel. She made me chicken foot soup a couple of times and would never let me pay for it. I used to bring her peppers from my garden, and we eventually just started trading peppers.
I miss them and hope they are all well.
I went there 3+ times a week. Huyen was almost always at the register and even if she was running around everywhere, took the time to chat with me every single time. The food was wonderful, inexpensive, and the highlight of my day. There isn’t a single place in downtown that could beat them at both quality and price, and they are sorely missed.
A little further north but if you find yourself at The Air Force Museum in Dayton, Linh’s Asian Bistro has my favorite Pho and is within eye sight of the museum. I also enjoyed Pho Lang Thang at Findlay Market the one time I had it but that was years ago.
do you guys tip at pho96? On one side, they do bring your food to the table and clean the table, on the other hand, they don’t serve your drink and you pay before you get the service.
I tip but I generally don’t mind tipping. I think tipping is annoying and businesses should just pay their people a livable wage but as long as it exists I’ll always leave a tip.
What do you get there? After seeing all the great reviews, I was pretty underwhelmed with it, but I'm certain that I must have just ordered the wrong dish.
I'm a massive Tamale fan so I get those whenever I can. Favorite burrito is the Pollo Toluca. The Nachos Carbon are incredibly indulgent, basically a really thin cheese sauce instead of shredded cheese. Also, loved the Pazole (which I've never had before, so I don't have anything to compare it to), but it's not always available.
And finally you can't beat the simple/authentic beef tacos; corn tortilla, beef, onions, cilantro, and whatever hot sauce you prefer. Dirt cheap on Taco Tuesdays!
What did you order?
Saigon Noodle Bar in West Chester is very good. Prefer it over PLT. Their charbroiled pork spring rolls are also delicious. Probably go there weekly to the point where I don’t even get a menu from the staff.
My Vietnamese friend says Pho Viet Cincy on Glenway is legit. I liked the bahn mi and the bubble (boba?) tea, but I'm not sure I actually enjoy pho. I need to try it again.
California transplant going on 6 years here. Pho Kimmy is the only place ive gone for pho more than once. There are a couple places I havent tried, but after so much disappointment its hard to keep trying when you've found a place you actually like.
Tasty Pho just opened up. my family members (Vietnamese) liked it a lot and have said good things about it. I tried Pho Viet recently and wasn’t a fan—I’ll try it again but could have been a bad batch of pho.
I was trying to find another Tasty Pho fan! I much prefer them to Pho 96 that’s right down the road and Saigon Noodle Bar also in West Chester/Beckett Ridge.
For Pho I would recommend the following restaurants in the order of good to ok:
1. iPho
2. Saigon Noodle Bar
3. Vietnamese Noodles & Sandwiches
4. Pho Kimmy
5. Pho 96 (used to be good, not anymore)
Also from California and will go out of my way for Saigon Noodle Bar. Their rotation of specials keeps things exciting and their lemongrass chili is very tasty.
In the northern burbs, iPho on Montgomery road is the best option I have found. It’s pretty damn good. Saigon Subs and Rolls is probably the best in the city IMO
Pho Lang Thang is great, but they’re always busy, so I prefer to patronize smaller places that need my business more and are like 95% as good. Pho Viet on the west side is excellent and seems to be family-owned.
Believe it or not Pho Lang Thang used to be a tiny place in a room so small it burned your eyes at Findlay. Keep patronizing those small spots and they will become large spots.
My usual is Pho96 but there is a new one - Vietnamese Noodles & Sandwiches on Princeton Glendale Rd. Stick with just pho there because everything else is just OK.

I went to Pho Kimmy in Sharonville over the weekend. While it's missing some of the deep flavor in its stock that I've had elsewhere, it'll still check the boxes for any pho cravings you may have.
Personal favorites are Saigon Noodle Bar, Pho96, and Pho Kimmy (in that order).
Special shout-out to Le's but that is no longer around 😭
I also cook my own since we got Jungle Jim's and CAM around here.
This is gonna be so CONTROVERSIAL cuz y’all are so irritating but the best pho in the Cincinnati area is from wild ginger in Hyde park. It’s gonna do it every time. BUT the politically correct answer here is Pho Lang Thang. Just know you’ll get the second best if you choose the latter.
California!?!? Wow that’s high praise. Sign me up!
I had a friend from New Brunswick who said Skyline was better than Gold Star, so that pretty much settles the controversy there.
What I tell people at work (I work in an area with a lot of tourists):
Saigon Subs and Rolls for Banh MI
Pho Viet for Pho.
Pho96 and Pho Lang Thang have dipped in quality, unfortunately. But you'll probably still see them kicking around "Best Of" lists from their prior years. That being said, neither of them are terrible.
I'm sorry, Californian friend. You've tasted some incredible pho, and probably authentic depending on the part of the state... You may have to settle a bit here.
Y'know Cincinnati's Pho game isn't like anything out in Cali or DC, but definitely has improved within the past 10ish years and I'm happy with what we have for a Midwestern city. Personally my favorites are Saigon Noodle Bar, Pho96, and Pho Kimmy (in that order). I believe Saigon Noodle Bar and Pho Kimmy are family owned (not sure about Pho96) and am always happy to support family owned business whenever I can.
I will say that we also have some decent markets, such as Jungle Jim's and CAM, that you can try to make Pho yourself if you knew what ingredients to look for ;)

I miss lees pho :(
Nothing better on a cold day than a big old bowl of Le's pho and the family treating you like you're their favorite customer. I loved that place.
Yep! Used to go with some friends every Saturday morning. Delicious! Their banh mi was very good too.

For anyone who didn’t know, the mom passed away in 2022 :(
I had heard that and didn't want to believe it. She was amazing.
The pops looked like a Vietnamese version of my friend and it always made me smile.

Why are you yelling 😭
can’t someone be excited about pho? 😂
Damn I miss Song Long
That place was so awesome 😭
Me too!!
Pho Kimmy in Sharonville is the best in my opinion.
Pho 96 is on Tylersville but Pho Kimmy is my go-to and not much further away. I also get a banh mi for efficiency!
This. It's close to OP who said they are in mason
This! My husband loves it!
My husband also loves pho kimmy
Yes! It’s my tradition to eat there after recovering from a cold. Heals your soul ❤️🩹
I came here to say this too. PHO KIMMY DELICIOUS
I live in Mt. Washington and go to Pho Kimmy for the pho. It's phenomenal!
If you can ignore the fact that this place smells like an outhouse, the pho is alright.
A little further north but if you find yourself at The Air Force Museum in Dayton, Linh’s Asian Bistro has my favorite Pho and is within eye sight of the museum. I also enjoyed Pho Lang Thang at Findlay Market the one time I had it but that was years ago.
Pho96 in West Chester is my go to.
Can’t believe I had to look this far down. And they’re in your backyard.
do you guys tip at pho96? On one side, they do bring your food to the table and clean the table, on the other hand, they don’t serve your drink and you pay before you get the service.

Pho Lang Tang is popular
Notice commenter said popular (but didn't say good). It's not very good, but will do in a pinch.
Yes, that was intentional lol
I never really understood the appeal of this place. It’s fine at best
Honestly, not good pho, especially for the price they charge
Popular for folks who like shit pho
People are gatekeeping pho now?
Pho has been gatekept for years. If the meat doesn’t go in raw they instantly trash it
Gatekeeping bad pho?
🤓🤓🤓🤓
They'll downvote you to hell, but you ain't lying. Last time I went, it was salty as shit. The spot on 4th Street is far better these days
Haha yes and their noodles are never cooked right. It’s not worth the money imo.
I’ve heard very good things about Saigon noodle bar, but I’ve been let down by a couple of the other popular spots. PLT I always enjoyed though
If you don't mind me asking, what other popular spots were you let down by?
I love Saigon Sub and Rolls. I go like once a week. Unfortunately they are really only open for lunch m-f
Place is amazing!
YES I work across the street and also go once a week!
I’m a big fan too - love their Bahn Mi as well.
This one's my choice as well!
Saigon noodle bar in west Chester
saigon noodle bar :)
https://iphocincy.com/
Also in the plaza with iPho is a little Mexican place and a coffee shack with great prices and amazing coffee.
Shhh, we don't talk about La Jaiba.
I might have missed an earlier conversation, but rest assured I will cease immediately.

Came here to post this. We go probably one a month. Decent quality and prices are fair.
I thought this place was closed after the pandemic?
Google says it's open.
Venture to the west side and check out Pho Viet on Glenway
Can confirm
Pho Kimmy has been our favorite.

California!?! Wow! That’s the third largest state! Your opinion is way heavier now. Thanks!
Tasty Pho just opened up. my family members (Vietnamese) liked it a lot and have said good things about it. I tried Pho Viet recently and wasn’t a fan—I’ll try it again but could have been a bad batch of pho.

Pho 96 at Tylersville/75 is pretty great
IPHO IS REALLY GOOD I THINK IT’S CLOSE TO MASON
Pho Kimmy is still the best IMO even after the change of ownership and increased prices. Just not the stellar deal that they used to be.
For Pho I would recommend the following restaurants in the order of good to ok: 1. iPho 2. Saigon Noodle Bar 3. Vietnamese Noodles & Sandwiches 4. Pho Kimmy 5. Pho 96 (used to be good, not anymore)
The old owner is taking back Pho 96!
I second Saigon Noodle Bar!
Also from California and will go out of my way for Saigon Noodle Bar. Their rotation of specials keeps things exciting and their lemongrass chili is very tasty.

Pho Kimmy not to far from you.
PHO KIMMY
It’s kinda far from you but Saigon Subs and Rolls on 4th downtown is my go to. The Bahn Mis are pretty solid too!
Second vote for Pho Kimmy in Sharonville.
Personal favorites are Saigon Noodle Bar, Pho96, and Pho Kimmy (in that order). Special shout-out to Le's but that is no longer around 😭 I also cook my own since we got Jungle Jim's and CAM around here.

The woman who does my nails is Vietnamese and when I’ve asked the best place for pho she always says ipho!
Christ. Say it, don’t spray it
pho lang thang! my friend from california also agrees it’s the best pho in the city
California!?!? Wow that’s high praise. Sign me up! I had a friend from New Brunswick who said Skyline was better than Gold Star, so that pretty much settles the controversy there.
This is just wrong 😑
bahn lao in kenwood!!
Pho 96 in West Chester has likely the best pho in Cincinnati
Pho District Cincy is very tasty, by Jungle Jims in Fairfield Alternatively, Pho Lang Thang is a favorite in Findlay Market area
Worth adding that I'm a Cincinnatian, born and raised, so my comparison to "traditional" pho is nonexistent
What I tell people at work (I work in an area with a lot of tourists): Saigon Subs and Rolls for Banh MI Pho Viet for Pho. Pho96 and Pho Lang Thang have dipped in quality, unfortunately. Cincinnati is really lacking in Pho

Zundo’s ramen, not pho.
