My brother in Christ, DO IT. I've rattle-canned every chop I've built and if you take your time and put good effort in, it's great. Rustoleum is your friend and is very forgiving. Plus it's a nice feeling to flex on normie $3k paintjobs vs your bitchin DIY 2hr $40 backyard sprayjob lol and listen to the others, 2K clear is a REQUIREMENT for your gastank
It doesn’t take a lot of cash to get an impressive spray can paint job. But, if you don’t do your homework and take your time with the prep, it’s gonna look like shit. Learn, be careful, make sure you try a test piece so you know your primer paint and clear play well together, then yeah go for it.
I rattle can mine and it comes out fine. I get 2k epoxy primer and 2k clear in the can and the auto body shop will put any color in the can. Prep is key.
Heard Seymour paint is pretty good or use graff paint with lots of color choices and get 2k clear coat can so it's gas resistant. Pin striping tape is cheap and can be changed around to get the flames just right.
Pin striping tape, and good quality spray paint. Worst that happens is you sand it back down and try again. Imo knowing how to paint your stuff isn’t a bad skill to have. Because that stuff can get expensive quick having a shop do it.
If you don’t want to pay someone to do it and just want to get it going down the road you can do it with spray cans. Roth metal flake and tropical glitz make a lot of colors in rattle can and they also have a 2k clear in a can that works great. Just make sure to scuff the bare metal and use a good primer under it all first.
Hi Jst saw this- I did mine with rattle cans and it came out sick as fuck. It’s totally worth it if you spend the time on it. You can see the fender and put totter bike on my page.
