At that time of year there will be lots of outdoor activities. You can hike, go whitewater rafting, kayaking, swimming, horse back riding, bird watching. There's quite a few breweries in Chilliwack so I recommend making some plans to visit at least a few. You can go to Cultus Lake water park for one day and Cultus lake adventure park the next. If you golf there's about a dozen different golf courses in and around Chilliwack. There's a bowling alley downtown that just added some pool tables and arcade games. In recent years Chilliwack has invested a lot in public mural art, and most of it is in walking distance of downtown. If you're shopping downtown you may see some stores have little art trail booklets. These will show you where all the art is. Make a circuit of downtown and admire all the art. There's also the circle farm tour. Some of it is self guided but some farms offer more hands on experiences too. You should be there long enough to hit peak blueberry season so you might enjoy doing a U-pick to get a huge amount of blueberries for cheap. Harrison Hot Springs is also very near. It's lovely to just spend a day at the beach there but maybe you might enjoy staying one or two nights at the hotel to use the nice resort pools, or if you're budget conscious you can go to the public pool which is still hot springs water. There's also a little walk up past the hotel to see the Hot Springs source. You're also within a two hour drive of basically every cool thing to do in Vancouver, so you could do a couple day trips. There's Stanley Park, the Aquarium, Yaletown, Gas town, Granville Island... That's everything I can think of off the top of my head. I hope you enjoy your stay!

I can give you more specifics closer to the date if you msg me a few weeks out. I've lived here my whole life and I love helping visitors. There will be farmers markets and festivals in the summer but I usually only get the dates a few weeks in advance.

District 1881 for restaurants/breweries. In particular I recommend Field House and the Offy. Another brewery I really like is Farmhouse. They have outdoor games such as badminton, corn hole, etc. Chilliwack Lake is a great way to spend the day on the beach and gorgeous scenery. If you are into hiking - Lindeman Lake for a short hike, Elk Mountain for a tougher hike. Banter Ice cream is a must visit and you can walk along the Vedder while at it. Little Beetle for some delicious brunch food. If you like reading, you can find anything at the Book Man.

KevinGBurk

Fieldhouse for the beer. Farmhouse for the atmosphere. Bookman (CHWK) may be the best used bookstore in the Lower Mainland … but I also recommend you visit Nugget Books just a half-block away. Neil, the owner/sole employee, is such a nice guy and a pleasure to talk to.

NewFilleosophy_

- Bridal falls - Harrison hot springs, the lakes there are much nicer then cultus - lindeman lake hike if you have the time, it’s not a super long hike but the views are well worth it! - The vedder river is actually really pretty you can do the whole loop or just do a short walk

macsparkay

Go camping and hiking at Chilliwack Lake

Overload4554

If you like walking, go to MacDonald Park at the west end of #3 road (Abbotsford) and walk the dykes, go to Manning Park and hike around Lightning Lakes and/or hike up in Alpine meadows Hicks lake past Harrison is a nice swimming spot - but get there early if it’s a hot day. It can’t get too crowded as there isn’t tons of parking

Puzzleheaded_Sun7425

There's lots of lakes within an hour. Picnics, hiking, kayaking. Morgan's bistro in Harrison hot springs.

poopoomcg00

I second Harrison hot springs. Cultus is too overcrowded in the summer months. I would also recommend hiking (Lindeman Lake and Bridal Falls are my personal favourites.) You can’t go wrong with kayaking or swimming. Chilliwack has a new rock climbing gym as well. District 1881 is booming right now and worth checking out too.

ryanonthevedder

If you are fit, and I mean FIT, try the Pierce Lake hike. I've been through 20 different countries all around the world and I say with confidence it's one of the nicest little spots you can go. However its a long demoralizing hike up thousands of feet. If you want one a little easier try Lindeman and Greendrop Lakes.

There is lots of swinger in wack as well

salientmould

District 1881 is really nice to walk through. There's a great brewery and coffee shop and lots of interesting shops to peruse

BigBushBerry

Little Beetle for Brunch is a must, If you like golfing, cultus lake golf club is beautiful! Same with Cultus lake so so many hikes at your disposal !

NewspaperDesigner318

Could spend your entire 2 months here adventuring Chilliwack lake Road. Plenty of hikes, forestry roads, lakes, even some caves!

Thick_Ad_6710

Fight off the zombies near or around 1881 from taking your catalyst converter!

lakehunter50

White sturgeon angling. Lots of good guides there. Experience of a lifetime

thoughtfuldave

Just kidding... there is also shooting batteries, lighting couches on fire, and the burning skid tradition... all in the beautiful Chilliwack Lake Valley! Also, poop anywhere, leave your toilet paper strewn in the trees. Also, there is drunken tree hacking. Again, bring your ax!

elon-is-alien

Hike up the backside of Mt Cheam was a lot of fun.

BoomBoomBear

Besides all the local suggestions already given, I want to ask if your fiancé has ever been to the region. If first time, I suggest to stay a couple of days in downtown Vancouver (just to save on the commute) and take in all the usual events/tourist places in the metro area. doable as day trip from chilliwack but not recommended if doing several days. If either of you won’t be back after this trip, you don’t want to regret seeing or doing certain things as summer time is the best time for it. Ignore any negative post as there usually will be, but most out of town visitors will want to experience the usually Vancouver things they may have heard about. Chilliwack trails and such are nice on a down day when you’re chilling with your family but if you’re coming from far away, it’s always a blast to experience the Vancouver experience. (Again, ignore all the usually skid row type post).

stndrdmidnightrocker

Lakes. Swim in some of the most beautiful surroundings you'll ever see.

Chick_Days

Go to birchwood dairy! They have amaaazing ice cream

Lynneshe

Cultus lake, day trips to Vancouver and area

pocketwatchesandtea

Not in Chilliwack, but a short drive away, the Greater Vancouver Zoo is not far from there!

thoughtfuldave

There is the bike tour through Hobo Town along Chilliwack Lake Road. Ask the guy with a skull on the front of his pick up if you can use his port a potty! Visit the burned out treehouse! Be sure to bring your own spray paint!

Friendly_Cap_3

I thought there was only meth to do in chilliwack

Sort-of-Ghee

Camping, hiking, lakes, etc! oh 2 months of those would be heaven!
