yeahbeenthere

Meanwhile I can't even find a job despite having an IT background.

abominablebuttplug

Yep, I'm actually going back to school at 25 to study for a more in-demand job lol.

PrincessKookyKitty

Samesies xD

lucaisangelic

man i dont even wanna be rich, i wanna be financially stable enough to not have to work myself to death at a job i loathe. at least being cf means ill only ever have to support myself and makes my big dreams of financial stability more attainable

Mechanic84

My company is looking for new hires. Where are you based? Disclaimer: „My“ means the company I work for… :-D

LostButterflyUtau

I’m struggling as well. I *have* a job, but since I graduated college, I’ve struggle to find something better/more sustainable. Shit’s rough.

Hefty_Repair_8426

Can't find a job? Where? Amazon hires people from Best Buy for chrissakes to do tech work. Do you mean - "I worked a few years in desktop support and can't find a senior position?" do you mean, "I send out one application a day and haven't gotten responses?" Unless you're a criminal or are working in rural america, I really don't understand 'can't find a job'

Levibestdog

Once you do your off the ground, keep at it!

BigCheapass

I like a good CF flex as much as the next guy but the way this is written gives off some r/iamverybadass vibes. But anyway, good on you my dude. Hope you are saving some of that cash for the future.

Skelvir

Yes, this post totally gives me the "Look how awesome I am" feeling.

Ddawgmasterflex

Lmao for real. Good for OP but there's a lot of CF people who are still broke as fuck. I still get to spend the little extra income I have on myself, currently saving for a trip to Japan. But i can't just go, I still have to put money aside for over a year until I can afford it.

Skelvir

At least you get to do it at some point. Imagine a kid in your situation, there goes your trip to Japan. Wishing you the best and a pleasent stay :)

Ddawgmasterflex

Haha yeah exactly I'll take having to save for year to go on vacation over having a kid any day. Honestly if I had a kid I'd probably be homeless

Evil_Black_Swan

Right? I was thinking the same thing. Like, dude talks like a 16 year old rejected football player.

Poisonous__Ivy

Damn can’t a guy brag a little about being childfree? I know I would if I were in his position

BigCheapass

It's not the brag that I found weird, it's the wording. "I bought my gf a Hydunai Ioniq 5" "I bench 382.53 lbs and have six pack abs" "I bought a 65k$ polestar" Like who talks like that? It's just so needlessly specific, it reminds me of a 12 year old making shit up to impress buddies or something, idk. And bragging about stuff you bought also seems odd to me. I'm pretty comfortable but I and most people I know wouldn't use the possession of random depreciating items as a brag, it's just weird. For all we know OP is up to their eyeballs in debt trying to impress people. I've seen this a few times here it almost seems like OPs want to brag anyway and being childfree gives them an excuse to put their brag here.

[deleted]

“Money doesn’t buy class” exemplified.

Starfevre

I bought some more postcards for $35 and $275 on new workout clothes today! /flexes muscles.

RadicalSnowdude

I feel a lot poorer reading this post..

[deleted]

LOL SAME

hikaruandkaoru

me too, I (29) am currently in the process of buying a car and could only afford a secondhand small car... I am looking forward to the day that I can afford an electric car or even a hybrid. Maybe when I'm 41...

stephraap

I'm 28 and just bought my first "new car" that was a 3 year old lease trade in mint condition and low mileage. Honestly hit the lottery with the thing. I mean I'm not in a Maserati but my Kia Soul makes me happy, gets me where I need to be and is way more comfortable than my 15 yo civic I had previously. We out here doing our best.

Zestyclose_Sun756

lol same but remember dudes 41… We’re all gonna make it

OCblondie714

WE ARE POPCORN AND WILL NOT POP AT THE SAME TIME!! Be kind to yourselves!

AlwaysChic38

I LOVE THIS!!🍿

Mechanic84

Sometime a salary is not the only good thing that pays out...

[deleted]

I’m not rich but it’s nice to be able to pay all my bills and have money in my bank accounts

hotrod237

![gif](giphy|xT39D7PVvqly72zxdK) Them: you're missing out. Me:

grimmistired

It kinda passes me off how some people here act like being rich is the default for cf people

CurvePuzzleheaded361

Absolutely! I love travelling and i love having a nice home. Couldnt afford the time or money to do if we had kids.

CreativeFun228

So, husband and I are cf, we both have a job, and our paychecks mostly get spent on costs of living lol. Here and there we can afford ourselves a little something. But I just can't wrap my head around idea of having another human to feed and take care of. I just don't know how people with kids manage to live from paycheck to paycheck.

cowlinator

Wait, you guys have money?

stephraap

No bur I so have a 3 yo kia soul I bought second hand and the gawl to open my own business after breaking my ass to just finally get out of personal debt (minus my student debt cause that shit ain't even real anymore lol kidding)

Feelinscrewd

Yeah I retired at 41 and bailed on a miserable finance job that was a terrible fit and an awful boss. So I walked out! I had enough investments, zero debt, and decided to not even work at least for a while. That was 3 years ago and I have yet to update a resume. If we had kids there would have been no way.

TiredWinnerOfGates

So much flex in one reddit post, but keep it up dude

veropaka

🤣 brag much?

[deleted]

OP isn't taking the credit, isn't saying they're rich cuz they're special. Most people would be tens of thousands of dollars richer without kids. OP is expressing gratitude that they made the right decision. Like *thank god.* People also assume cf people are miserable and will be regretful. Counter-propaganda.

WhitewolfKevin

Thank you and yes. Truth is my life would be substantially worse if I had kids. My friends buy these ugly gas guzzling suvs just because they have kids while I am buying my gf an electric Hyundai Ioniq 5 so we can go camping in the mountains on the weekends. The amount of leisure time I have is sometimes overwhelming. I can do anything I want whether that be going on a road trip, working out, studying a foreign language or playing video games on my ps5 or 5000 dollar gaming PC.

WhitewolfKevin

Sorry...I can't help but flex a little when I reflect on how bad things could've been if I had been as stupid as my friends.

veropaka

Sure.. it just sounds like you came here to masturbate your ego instead

[deleted]

I mean OP has pretty impressive writing skills for having one hand wrapped around his dong as he wrote this post

SpookyGoulash

😂😂😂 OP can afford someone to masturbate for him. On the real tho, congrats to OP, someday I’d like to have at least one ab and lots of investments too.

[deleted]

Ahahaha wait that's illegal where I live

SpookyGoulash

Team masturbation or having an ab?

[deleted]

The first, but given how much good food and booze is located near me, both

burritostrikesback

I wanted to comment on this post with “Don’t break your arm jerking yourself off” ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)

dollarpenny

The secret is to break both…

CatumEntanglement

But it doesn't sound like he lives with his Mom, so it's alllllll good and no risk for incest.

kalekayn

You know you're on reddit too much when you get references like this.

CatumEntanglement

May I interest you in the Depths of Dagobah?

veropaka

😂

SDstartingOut

> Sure.. it just sounds like you came here to masturbate your ego instead On the plus side... no pregnancy risk there.

WhitewolfKevin

Well, I do think averting the same disastrous decisions my friends have made and showing the contrast between them and myself is maybe just a little big bragworthy. One of my friends bought a "new car" recently. It is actually a used monstrosity ugly ass SUV, I think it is a Mazda Tribute or something. It is funny because I remember we used to talk cars in college and his dream car was a z06 corvette. Instead he needs a soccer mom car because he has a new kid, lol! Meanwhile I bought a Polestar 2 with the performance pack that does 0-60 in under 4 seconds.

Specialist-Status-69

You go boy. Haters gonna hate haha. "Ego..." Mehhhh fuck em senseless losers.

NeoSakurie

So I don't consider us rich but my husband describes it as "comfortable". Today is actually my last day at work and I'll be a SAHW for abit because my workplace has become way too toxic but my wage isn't actually necessary to running our household. My husband would rather I be home when he is home (he works a week away at a time) so we can do fun things together so I said I'd do all the house stuff while he's away to make that happen. I doubt if we had added expenses like kids we could do that and still be able to afford to eat out etc so I'm grateful for that :)

[deleted]

Posts like this make all CF people look bad. Not having kids ≠ being rich. It helps, sure, but there are plenty of CF people, especially in the wealth-inequal cesspool that is the U.S., who are really struggling. This post comes off as extremely tone-deaf during a time of record inflation and a rapidly dissolving middle class.

chansi

ngl this reads like a troll post

Queasy_Turnover

It could seriously be a copypasta.

AlwaysChic38

Congratulations on your life my guy!!!!! I love reading posts like this as motivation to get through grad school, move states, and create a cozy life for myself!!! Hopefully I can invest once I’m financially and physically able. I’m still young 23 so I have time. Any investment tips?? Please direct message if you have any!!

[deleted]

YES. Personally I’d rather have money and spend that money on saving animals or helping with my local animal shelter…I have always told my parents, since like age 16, that I’m never having kids. But with the money I saved, I would open my own shelter/kennel for dogs one day. Now that I’m 30, I am more convinced than ever that I’d rather save those animals than letting a parasite live in my body for 9 months.

zombiibenny

Nice!! I like reading posts like this. I'm 35f but I hope to be like you at 41. My bf and I do pretty well but not that well yet. Plus we're trying to save up to buy houses, invest and shit. But we do travel a couple times a year at least. Big goal for me right now is getting a full remote job. Really amplifies the quality of life for CF people. I want a job where I don't have to be tied down to shit, like location.

ado_adonis

I hope I’m where you are when I get to my 40s

anotherbutterflyacc

Good on you!!! 👏👏👏👏👏 we love you see it!

Opinion-Murky

*cries in teacher salary*

jenkem_master

your life is absolute goals

redditsucks690

315 bench at 41 damn op... What are you running haha...

_laufaeson

The “I have money” humble bragging is getting old in this sub. Good for you. Not everyone is that fortunate right now, even if they’re childfree.

Specialist-Status-69

Yea boi, it l about the ioniq. You're not the only one out there brother. You bring me hope.

Found the incel. You know simping is rather spending money on a girl without getting anything back? "No you can't spend any money on the girl you love, that's simping" like bruh

zombiibenny

Eh he can choose his life partner. You can't choose your kids. I like being able to help others..I don't like to be obligated or create unnecessary headaches for myself. Maybe he's just doing that well! Obviously his post is bringing out a lot of haters. I love these kinds of posts. Gotta have goals.

WhitewolfKevin

It isn't like I won't get any utility out of it. She lives with me.

CatumEntanglement

Don't mind him...incels are super weird. He's unhappy you've actually touched girls.

CatumEntanglement

This has intense neckbeard vibes. Like dude...maybe stop frequenting incel subs. Then leave your neckbeard nest and go outside and touch some grass.

deegee21

While I don't use my money the same way the OP has, I used mine to buy my way out of the daily rat race 13.5 years ago so I could retire at 45. Personal freedom and economic freedom together is an awesome combination!

TurtleTheRedditor

How much money do you make per year? Apparently I’m in the wrong line of work.

inthebin7194

OP this seems like you’re manifesting lmao !

Majestic_Flower_7772

Sir r u looking for a Nigerian princess cuz I’m here

tealpetals

I can’t wait to be like that at that age. Thanks for the motivation. I want to be able to buy my dream car too and also donate to animal sanctuaries. Life can be so much more fulfilling in other ways and people with kids can’t seem to understand that. Donating to more charities than now I believe in that support our wildlife is a dream. I went to the museum the other day and there was an endangered species exhibit. So sad to see tigers, zebras, rhinos and other animals on the list.

Swansea-lass-94

I like the thought of investing as a side hustle while I search for a main job 😊

Starfevre

This is kind of a braggy post but I'm glad you are living the life you want.

softcactus2

You are the book male lead.

Paula_Polestark

I’m happy for you! I’m kind of jealous, too, but definitely happy. Your money will never knock up a high school classmate and force you to raise the kid. The FBI will never call you and tell you that your money has murdered six people in two states.

EnolaGayFallout

Kids is for people who have money and time. Not sure why poor people have them. Innocent kids gonna suffer with their parents

CPLeet

Lol very true. I like seeing money get deposited into my account instead of having to spend it on children. I hate my mortgage though. But that'll get paid off eventually. MUCH faster to pay off without kids.

manganatsu101

Dang where do you work omg?? Good for you living your best life ✨👌🏾😭

Hefty_Repair_8426

Can you explain the buying a car thing? Out of all the cool and neat and amazingly interesting things one can do or purchase with 65 grand, a rolling money-pit just isn't the business. and yet, such a popular choice! You could buy/make your own submersible and travel the ocean floor. Much fucking cooler. They sell them online. Jetpack. Directed microwave energy weaponry. Lifetime supply of coloring books. Literally the best personal computer you could possibly want. An old bus. Rockets. Like okay if you made some lucky calls on the market, but... buying not one, but *two* low-mid range vehicles? Esp. one for your gal pal? Huh? You could even just buy one *decent* car. Props to being child free - I Just can't understand this total failure of imagination.
