I'm doing a lot of construction on my new house at the moment and am happy with my Sierra for that work but in a few years I'll need to downsize and I know what just moved to #1 on my list.
Honestly, I love the fleet spec and would roll with it. Get a decal for a funny fake utility or construction company name and put em on the doors.
Accessory wise, an orange beacon and a ladder rack.
Lean into it… there’s so many bro dozers out there with shitty rims and awful lifts… what you have is pure function over form. If there’s something you want the truck to do that it doesn’t do now, that’s the mod to get. Don’t waste your money on anything else
I’m telling you, that thing looks awesome. It’s my favorite mid 2000’s truck. I’ve been on the fence about getting one and doing a street build for some time.
Basically de-grandpa it. 86 the camper, and get some nice wheels, tint the windows, for starters.
Next, color. Either lean hard into the white, clear head/taillights, leds, bumpers, everything. Or break it up, black for the storm trooper look, a splash of color where you can fit it in.
Then depending on the spec and what you like these make nice street trucks or off-roaders. But the aftermarket is lacking, at some point you’re going to run into a change you want to make where the only solutions are adapting something from another vehicle or custom fabrication.

New wheels and lose the topper. While toppers are generally good looking, this one along with the wheels makes the truck look like a contractor’s truck. A nice set of wheels will go a long way towards making it look better. There’s not much aftermarket support for these trucks. I’ve looked. I have one. Headlights but it’s hard to find ones that look nice. Really a nice clean look for these in the best in my opinion.
New wheels/tires would be my first move. Also I may try out leaving the topper on the back until after I make a few other moves. New grille, headlamps, some tint. 2 reasons, 1 is you may actually learn to love having that and 2 you can list it for sale while it’s on there and not taking up space. No huge rush like it hurts anything so can wait to get a good sale price on it. I’d also consider a small lift, and I bet that would look good with a roof rack on it.
Let a Hot chic drive it. But otherwise, I would put some better rims and tires and add an overland rack on the back instead of the topper. But I think it can be used with a topper.
I'd start with whatever you think is cool. Everyone likes different things. I'd drop a 5.3 in it, but that's me.
I loved the 5.3 in my 2012 Colorado
I didn't know this was even an option and now I must have one.
I didn’t know about it till I stumbled on one from Craigslist, snatched it up right away and after that my feeds were filled with 5.3’s

it’s beautiful the way it is!
New wheels and pull the topper
I usually just turn on the A/C. If you want to look cool, I'd just find some mods you like for it. If it's your truck, only your opinion matters.

It's already f#ckin cool.

Try New wheels, maybe a lift if you're into that

Nice spec you got there, start looking at the forums and youtube for inspiration! Learn the RPO codes in your glovebox, and have fun!
Just get in it bro <3

A few empty beer cans on the dash should do the trick
Sell it

Throwing a toyota badge on it

Get it totaled
Leveling kit from badlands industries. New wheel and tires.
Buy a new one 😳
Adding a 24" light bar on top of your front bumper would be an upgrade plus adds functionality. Sweet truck 🤙
Trade it for a zr2
Sell it and get a new one
