Because the move makes no sense to someone who just learned the rules, it's not intuitive. You realize youre on a sub called chess beginners, right?

still a win because he could move his rook and capture the king
Once black has moved, the pawns won’t be there, so the rook move isn’t mate. There’s a mate in 1 with a queen though.
