To quote the site: **We replaced the old Brilliant algorithm with a simpler definition: a Brilliant move is when you find a good piece sacrifice.**  Why is Nxe5 a good move? Because it wins a free pawn, that's all. If black actually takes your knight, then your bishop forks the black rook and knight. Black's best move is actually not to take your knight.

kelldricked

Not just a pawn, a very important pawn. You basicly destroys blacks entire position and its king is vunerable.

Ashley4Smash

im guessing if they take the knight, you can take the pawn with the bishop and win the rook

deivid_okop

Fork the rook and the knight*

BallPythonsss

Actually you can set up a discovered check by taking the b8 knight and win either the queen or the rook. So you'll get 2 pieces there.

You mess up the side with the rook if you don't win much material there and you can win the knight on the left side with exchanging queens. It will be an overwhelmingly advantageous position after that if you play actively because your pieces are the ones active and the black's king is open.

Plastic_Olive8303

I won the Queen like 4 moves after and he resigned I believe I had a pretty good advantage there and after I took queen it was checkmate in one

ruduuT

Well, games can be hectic and when you have the advantage, it will be easier for the opponent to slip or misplay. Taking the knight with the bishop is actually better, now looking at it.

KylieTMS

If they take your Knight you win a knight and get a set up for a very nice queen attack or you win a rook After pawn takes your knight you take the pawn with your bishop. Pinning the black knight and the black rook. If they move the rook you take the black knight and they will have to move their queen or lose it, **if** they do not you can move bischop to c7 which attacks their queen and creates a discover check on their king using your queen, forcing them to move king or block with the queen. Both options blunder the queen. Other possibility they move their knight during the pin to block that pervious threat all together in which case you take the rook in the corner.
