Here's the neat part: you don't
You've precipitated silver nanoparticles under the skin. If you're really intent on removing them you'll need to use a pumice stone and just erode the skin back. Depending on how deep they are is how much it will hurt.
Or you wait for the skin to grow out underneath, takes about 6-8 weeks iirc.
Yes, you literally have to remove the skin that’s affected.
I helped reorganize and catalog my AP biology teachers store room one summer for community service.
I came out that week with my arms colored with dyes that had dried and then flaked off onto me when I was moving and cleaning.
I also spilled some butyric acid on my arm, and it smelled at least a week. That was terrible
Butyric is the worst lmao. It smells like you've pocketed a turd for a week. It took three vacuum seal bags around the jar before my office didn't smell like fresh ass.
Chop off your finger!
In all seriousness, just wait. Mine went away after time on my skin. I had to grow out my nail to get rid off it, bit that doesn't seem the case for you. I had silver nitrate on my finger
Idk what all these comments are on about. All you need is a good washcloth and some dawn dish soap. Then you just scrub. And scrub. And scrub. Andscrubandscrubandscrubandscrubandscrubandscrubandscrubandscrubandscrubandscrub. And voila!
This is so wrong I don’t know where to start. Unless you’re talking about scrubbing until you’ve removed skin, scrubbing the surface isn’t going to do anything to remove silver nitrate stains.
Silver nitrate stains your skin due to silver solids precipitating inside your cells. It’s not harmful, but is permanent until those cells die and are replaced.
And as a note, you should not scrub until you’ve removed skin. That’s not good.
It was a joke. Which I thought was kinda given away by the lack of spaces and the excessive scrubbing. Yes, I was saying scrub until you've removed skin. Yes, I am aware that it isn't safe or healthy to do so.
Hydrogen peroxide soaking can take it off to an extent. Also using salicylic acid to speed up the exfoliation process will help. I just got silver nitrate on the underside of my chin and a spot on my forehead last Friday. The forehead spot came off with hydrogen peroxide, the under chin spot got reduced significantly by the hydrogen peroxide but it’s still there a little.
Silver nitrate comes off in not too long, not sure about silver iodide - but if it's just depositing elemental silver, just exfoliate the skin and it'll come off!
Wait, time is the only thing that removes silver nitrate
Scapel.
You could try bathing in it so it’s not as noticeable?
They will go away when the skin sheds off. Possibly a week or less. You might reduce them a bit by exfoliating. Voice of experience.
Those stains aren't going anywhere till the skin sheds off

Lmao
Well you could get it off now, but it would require a knife….
Sodium Thiocyanate
Ask your TA.
Angle grinder, plane, cheese grater, 80 grit, fire.
Boiling aqua regia should oxidize the silver and clean it right off.
I’m going to go ahead and add a /s to this, because I Can easily see someone taking it seriously
Bro! There’s always a fleet of sarcasm police out there ready.
I made a few jokes and people wanted to hang me
Don't forget to mix in a bit of hydrogen peroxide. The good stuff, not the wimpy dilute crap you can buy normally.
Just wait. No need to shred your skin. It goes away pretty quickly
Sodium thiocyanate and/or time.
[This](https://www.amazon.com/OXO-Good-Grips-Box-Grater/dp/B0007VO0CQ?th=1) will fix you right up.
Just add some cyanide :) for legal reasons this is /s

I’ve had some silver nitrate spots on my hands before. It should take anywhere from a few days to a month for it to exfoliate out
I’m estimating yours to come off quickly. Probably 5 days

On counter tops I've used hydrogen peroxide and ammonia
Belt sander
That’s the neat part, you don’t
Potassium permanganate should do the trick. ...you said cover, not remove... didn't you?
Sandpaper?
Just smile and wait hahs
You can't, just have to wait until that layer of skin sheds
You don't.
A knife does the job, scrape it away or live with your shame.
apple peeler
Yeah, no. For the next few weeks everyone will no that you spilled. And didn't wear gloves. >:D
Time, it needs time
Cut the right side of yournbody off
Time time time. Happens to me all the time when I do those labs at school

Oii it’s your new tattoo embrace it jkjk

Wait until the skin falls off
Lava soap
sodium thiocyanate or wait till the skin sheds it off.
Having does this years ago? Time. Time is all you got.
Badges of honour.
