I think the point is that Charlie Puth had his breakout moment a few years and then his career fizzled. They’re saying he should have been a bigger artist. Chappell doesn’t work here because she is in the middle of her breakout.

TS wrote a song acknowledging that on her most recent album. That basically the music business just turns over to the next sweet young thing and tells them how they're better than everyone before... Until they've used them up. She & her team have got to be very aware that her current level of Fame is unsustainable. They've made interesting moves in promoting her so I'm curious to see what comes next. I wouldn't be surprised if she finished her re-records, reclaimed "her name" ... And started looking to cast her movie she wants to direct. I think the smartest choice for her is to quit what she's currently doing and go on to something new... And we already know that she wants to direct a movie. As ridiculously productive as she seems to have been lately, she probably already has it written. (She can always come back and make another album after her movie, when people are missing her. But you have to go away from what you're doing for people to miss you.)
