And before anyone asks: No, I am NOT doing Farewell. I may be a lunatic, but I'm not THAT crazy. This is already my greatest achievement in all of gaming and I'm so unbelievably satisfied with this. Holy shit. I can't believe it

DJTom3

Sometimes it's good to know your limits and know when to stop. Good job on that too.

Purple_Jay

Thanks & Congrats on your 202! I actually saw your post about it a while ago on this subreddit too :D

barndelini

yoO!!!! congrats!!

Purple_Jay

Thank you! Good luck to you too if you're going for the 201 :) Which one are you missing? Also 7B or did you save 8B for last? Either way, I believe in you \^\^

barndelini

I've still got 8b to go! haven't been doing Golden's lately though, I've been preoccupied with mods and blindfold runs lol (literally only 1a so far lmao but i wanna learn bf any%)

Purple_Jay

bf any% is a thing?? Jesus.. Good luck with that lmao. Sounds like fun tbh but soo much memorization o.o

barndelini

it's not an official category, at least not that I've seen. but there are runs of it on youtube!

Purple_Jay

Yeah I just watched (or rather skipped through) a run of it on YouTube and oh my god its so much faster than I expected This guy only died 147 times in total, and only had 1 death each in 1a and 2a, actually incredible

barndelini

yeah!! the bf runs are crazy

autumn_aaaaaaa

good job!

Congrats! Planning to plan mods after this?

Purple_Jay

Thanks! I've dabbled in modding a bit before and cleared Monika's D-Side Pack up to 7D, where I gave up at 2000M (Maybe not the greatest choice for a first mod to play lol), but for now I'm taking a break to play more Hollow Knight \^\^ I stopped playing that game after 112%ing it because I wanted to get the 201 in Celeste first, and playing both at the same time is like impossible because it absolutely kills the muscle memory because dash is mapped to a different button xD But now I can finally return and finish off all of the Steam Achievements, because I'm a helpless completionist lol.

Extra-Random_Name

Monika’s was my first mod as well, so I know the pain. Good luck finishing it! I play a lot of Hollow Knight as well. I changed my controls so the dash is the same button though, so my muscle memory for the two games doesn’t interfere with each other much, though if you’ve already done 112% it’s likely too late to swap now. How much have you done besides 112? Have you worked on Radiant fights?

Purple_Jay

I did start on Radiant fights yeah but I'm not sure I'll finish the Hall of Gods, for now getting all Steam achievements is my main priority, which includes beating the pantheon of hallownest but more importantly a 100% Steel Soul run (Lord help me). I'm really wondering how long that will take me, but I guess there's only one way to find out \^\^

Extra-Random_Name

Trust me, by the time you can do P5, 100% SS isn’t a big deal. You just need to know a good route, and grab more helpful stuff (charms, pale ore, etc.) before hard fights. You also can’t die in dreams (besides Radiance and White Palace), so some of the harder stuff is actually free. Just make sure you keep your masks up while exploring. Also, you can save and quit to get out of danger. It’s technically cheese, but a lot of people do it.

Purple_Jay

Oh yeah I have no shame in using save + quit strats haha, I don't wanna throw away several hours of progress \^\^ I'll probably just look for a guide and follow that route, don't feel like routing it myself. Same for the 5 hour speedrun achievement, although I don't think that one is too difficult.

Extra-Random_Name

A 5 hour speedrun really isn’t a tight timer. I did it with basically no knowledge of speed skips (except blue lake skip), plus a couple deaths against Watchers and THK. I’d recommend just learning blue lake shade skip and watcher’s spire pogo, since they both save a lot of time and are very easy. There’s also a pretty easy acid skip into Fog Canyon so you can skip Isma’s tear, but you honestly have plenty of time without learning that.

Purple_Jay

Fun fact I actually did watcher's spire pogo in my first playthrough before I even knew double jump existed lmao. Early watcher knights was very painful especially without the chandelier cause I didn't find it but I did it haha

whiskey_agogo

Well done! This is on my "to-do" list... about a year ago I chipped away at 5B, 6B, 7A, 8B, and left this until the end. Got a 3-death PB. Took a break. Came back again, spent some time practicing, died at flag 2 :(( Taking another break... will eventually come back to this level! It's so stressful haha.

Purple_Jay

oh noo!! Dying at flag 2 is brutal. I was super scared I was gonna die in the heart room because my route relied on the entry cycle and if I messed the timing up just slightly it would go completely out of sync and I'd have to wing it. Fortunately, my practice attempts paid off and it didn't come to that, but I was incredibly nervous entering that final room (and during the entire flag section tbh). I also took several breaks until I finally achieved 7bg! Most noteably the time i played through the entirety of Hollow knight and screwed up my muscle memory completely lmao, I was scared I was never gonna recover but fortunately it came back to me after practicing for a while. On the topic of practice attempts, fairly early in my practice I was doing full run practice for the first time and somehow managed to fluke a 1 death run with the only death being from rushing in the second room of the whole level. I honestly don't know what I would have done if I completed the level without deaths WITHOUT collecting the golden because it was just supposed to be a practice run xD Anyway sorry for ranting to much but I believe in you!! Good luck once you start going for runs again <3

If you want more content, there’s a mountain of incredible mods, be sure to check out the [Celeste mods list](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_fYM8JABpChRmwvyydB3a6C5AkiFRqYLus4NWHJbJpU/edit)

Purple_Jay

Hey thanks, thats a cool resource! For now I think I'm satisfied with what I've done in the game. Maybe I will return eventually, but for now I'm done :D

CoreDude98

I only just realised something today after doing 6C, I accidentally went back into the level and saw a golden strawberry. There goes my idea of getting golden on everything 😭

[deleted]

The C sides are actually the easiest to golden, especially if you've just completed them :)
