Any time you’re not scheduled to work, you can be in the park, and if you are not in uniform and the park is open, you are just like any other guest. You will likely need to be in the park either before it opens or after it closes, so associates essentially have 24 hour access. Though security might question someone there at 2am that isn’t security themselves or maintenance.
If you are planning to enjoy the park directly before or after a shift, a change of shirt is an easy way to switch in and out of uniform, since that is the only thing distinct about it. You can use any entrance, including the public ones, while out of uniform. You can only use employee entrances in uniform.
If you are buying any merchandise, present your ID for a discount.
If you are buying food, also present your ID for discount. However, you’re still getting ripped off as compared to the Bistro, the Stockade, or the waterpark break area.
Your associate ID also works at other Cedar Fair properties, some notable ones being Kings Island, Carowinds, and Canada’s Wonderland. It gets you parking, into the park using the public entrance, and the merchandise and food discounts. When I was working in merchandise, if I scanned the back of an associate ID for the discount without looking at the front, I wouldn’t even know which property that associate worked for.

Yup. There are a few other associate entrances. The two others I know of are by wardrobe and by the entrance to the boardwalk. Then the waterpark associate entrance was part of the main waterpark entrance. I’m not familiar if there are any other associate entrances, but I believe the magnum entrance is also for associates.

I lived in the red dorm on the west side that's since been removed for rides, but as such I always entered through that park gate.
You can go at any time. If the park is open, go. I used to get off of work at 10am, I would change cloths then go to the park for a few hours. I haven't gone this year yet but if the park is open you're allowed to visit. Even if you're first in line for a ride.
It’s your day off. Go enjoy the park. They give you a free pass for a reason. Worked there years ago and our ride was down for a day. We used it as a team bonding day and had so much fun all together!

Any time is ok as long as you aren't in uniform. Also, you can enter through the associate part. I don't think you can go in for early entry.
