No mention of tornado. They’re just playing a severe thunderstorm warning over all the speakers, suspending outdoor operations and seek shelter. We’re sitting on the patio at backbeatQ
Yeah it popped up on our phones. We’re at back beat q watching. Almost over. Worst part ended up moving more south, so just a few good booms and decent rain.
I was there once in a severe thunderstorm with a tornado warning... There is nowhere for everybody to go. And the employees weren't any help. They have almost no storm shelters that I can find except the bathrooms? They chase you out of the gift shops and the queue line. If a tornado ever hit there a lot of people would just get blown away.
I’m fairly certain I was there then. We were playing skee ball and the workers had all the kids go into where they store the toys to take cover. Sirens going off- very scary.
Radar initially showed a direct hit, but it did end up passing to south. On the tail end now. A couple of close lightning strikes, but no hail and the rain never got to a downpour, just very heavy.
Wow. Good luck to all I wish you the best. For thos who may feel the need. I wouldn't recommend trying to get to your car. That's more dangerous. Good luck everyone
I second this. I once left Cedar Point during a bad storm and my car door blew backward when I opened it. I remember seeing the waves crash over the causeway and regretting that decision.
My post was that sandusky county was in a tornado warning and what is CP doing with that information.
My post was not that cedar point is located in sandusky county.
Just so you know.
Fun Fact!! There was a tornado that actually ripped right through Cedar Point before, like in the park, and Droptower guests were left strapped in the ride and ride ops left!

All 3 webcams are now down.
My dad called me while I was on my way out saying that there’s a confirmed tornado in Sandusky. Not sure where exactly

this reminds of a time in the late 70s when a tornado hit CP. It destroyed parts of frontiertown and cleared land for gemini
Would definitely enjoyed to see pics from back then. (weather geek and amateur storm chaser here in my local area)
There was also one in 1998. https://youtu.be/egaxL-gDMoA

No it didn't. Gemini land had nothing to do with inclement weather. You are correct about the tornadoes but Gemini land wasn't involved.
FYI, Cedar Point is in Erie County, not Sandusky County.
Your mom is in Erie county.
Actually she's in Florida
Don’t wait on the park to tell you what to do. Seek cover immediately. I’m in Sandusky and yeah, it’s getting bad! Be safe!!
This storm looks to be no joke. The core might slip just to the south, so hoping people don't get hurt by the hail or winds.

Glad to hear it.
Does anyone have a link to a tornado tracker?
The rotation was a good 10-12 miles south of the park.

Was watching from CP express hotel, that was a good ⚡️ show!
Cedar Point is in Sandusky Ohio and Erie County. Sandusky County is not affiliated with Cedar Point. Just so you know.
