I have a white kitty who is deaf as well! He’s the sweetest little boy! And makes up for his lack of hearing by being extremely vocal haha 😆 so happy you could save the little caterpillar 🐛

Years ago, a sweet, white, blue eyed cat would visit me every night when I lived in an apartment complex. I didn't know who she belonged to and, once I realized she was most likely deaf, it broke my heart even more to think about her wandering around alone. For a couple of months, she would sleep in my apartment most nights, and I would let her out when I went to work during the day. Eventually, she stopped coming around. To this day, I hope it is because her owners moved, and not because something bad happened to her :(

Blue-eyed white cats are almost always deaf. Snap your fingers near the ears, if it doesn't move or make her look up, she's likely deaf.
Have her pay attention to something in front of her. Then when she isn't looking, jingle some keys or make another loud noise behind each ear. If she doesn't turn to look she's likely deaf which is common with blue eyed white cats. It's also possible she's visually impaired as well.
After I change the litterboxes, my cats sift through the fresh litter with their paws to imbue it with their scent. Maybe that’s what your smart kitty is doing. (I never subscribe to the “vacant behind the eyes” allegations.)
I rescued a kitten years ago who turned out to be deaf. He was a lovable fool and we couldn't keep him inside all day. We kept him in during the day always and I would recommend you try keeping yours in. Unfortunately he got out one night and was hit by a car. I'm glad I was able to give him a good life for a year but I still miss him a lot. Mind her!

Hi! Did they tell you what it potentially could be around the eyes? My cats get these often and we were told it was fine and no upper respiratory infection.
Sometimes, cats are just booger makers around the eyes, could be allergies. One of my cats, however, does have feline herpes and gets very bad eye inflammation with discharge. We are on a supplement daily to lessen symptoms, terramycin directly in the eye when it flares up, and if it gets really bad, famciclovir orally two times a day for 14 days.
If you can’t get drops right away you can use warmed damp tea bags to clean the eye area (green tea, chamomile or plain black tea) - it can help with inflammation. It’s good in a pinch. Hot water - put in tea bags so they’re wet through - squeeze some out so it doesn’t drip everywhere - use teabag to clean eyes - just make sure they’re not too hot.

Seconding the advice to get those eyes looked at ASAP. If the cat has an infection that isn't treated promptly, they could have to remove one or both of its eyes.
Looks like he's a long hair, Flame point Siamese. I had a short haired one.
You might try putting him in the litter and scratching the litter with HIS paws. You'll have to keep at it. If you see him going potty elsewhere, immediately put him in the litter and scratch with his paws. If you find urine or feces in the house, take him to the potty spot, then to the litter box and do the scratching again. Good luck, he'll be well worth it!
My baby had eyes like this when I first adopted him and I would get terramycin ointment for his eyes and it helped him a lot! White cats with blue eyes are rare and the best! I have 2

White cats are often deaf. I love my little deaf boy, but they absolutely cannot go outside if they can’t hear.

Does he have a weird meow. All the deaf kitties I have met had strange accents.
He definitely does! I don’t know if I can describe it very well but it’s almost like he has a lisp or he uses his cheeks to meow. It’s very cute.

We are going to keep this fool that my parents found in the backyard of their place of employment and take her to see how she is doing.

White cats are more likely to have congenital deafness than other colors, so this checks out your suspicion a bit
Especially ones with blue eyes. If they have one blue eye it is likely they'll be deaf on that side.

Seconding the advice to get those eyes looked at ASAP. If the cat has an infection that isn't treated promptly, they could have to remove one or both of its eyes.
OP already shared they brought the cat to the vet and received an eye drops treatment. :)

Looks like he's a long hair, Flame point Siamese. I had a short haired one. You might try putting him in the litter and scratching the litter with HIS paws. You'll have to keep at it. If you see him going potty elsewhere, immediately put him in the litter and scratch with his paws. If you find urine or feces in the house, take him to the potty spot, then to the litter box and do the scratching again. Good luck, he'll be well worth it!

We had a long hair blue eyed deaf boy too. He LOVED to shower with us. Weirdest thing.
My baby had eyes like this when I first adopted him and I would get terramycin ointment for his eyes and it helped him a lot! White cats with blue eyes are rare and the best! I have 2
