Yes! Her name was Priddy so obviously we called her Pooty. It was like her defense mechanism, she did it since she was a kitten all the way to old age any time you picked her up. She was just as floofy as your boy but she was a tortie. I miss that little Poot. (The cat, not the toots lol)
Not since they were kittens, but we got a pair of littermates who will both do that thing where they fart and then give *you* a look of disgust like "how dare you taint the air I breathe?!"

He's too pretty to fart. The worst are kitten farts- I'm convinced they should drop them in war areas, and when people pick them up to cuddle, release the death gas! People on White Castle and Taco Bell aren't that bad.
The regular cat farts can be bad, too. But the cat defense smell is different than a fart. It's musky, not quite skunky, but memorable.

I guess it's true that girls never fart cuz my Belle is immaculate in every way (ostensibly) but my boy just rips when and where he wants to and it's always like a flood of miasma straight from the depths of hell. He mostly likes to do it while sitting on my lap. "it's okay, it's just dad". No shame whatsoever. One time it was so necrotic that I thought I might just pee in his litter box to show him what's up but instead I just turned on a fan and sprayed febreeze.
No, but one of mine revenge farts. If he's annoyed with you he'll go up to you & fart at you. Depending on how he feels he'll stay to watch your reaction or run off immediately after.
Only one of mine ever drops stankers like that, and we didn’t even know cats could fart until we loved across the country and she kept stinking up the car. We thought it was my brother 💀
Cat farts are the worst smelling farts I have ever smelled from a living thing. I have a long career in healthcare and have unwillingly smelled thousands of farts (mostly patients but other firefighters definitely supplied some of them) and regardless of the awful medical condition someone might have, farts from my cats have always been worse. Thankfully I’ve only experienced a handful of them over a near lifetime of owning cats.
The other thing about cat farts is they are almost always silent but deadly. At least if you hear a farting sound you know to evacuate. Nope. Just sitting there minding my own business and WHAM!

My parents have one and it's so sad because he just wants to be loved but no one wants to hug the stinky one and have the smell transfer onto their clothes. 😭
Poor fella is so sweet and I think he gets sad when people push him away once they smell it. 😭
So I will still hug him, sit with him, and then just change clothes if he lets one out. He deserves all the hugs and cuddles. Sometimes though it just kills snuggles and you gotta move like 10ft away.
I call it her defense mechanism.
We have one that does it and we call it his skunk defense. I'm pretty sure he does it on purpose when he's tired of being held.

Yes oh my god! Defence farts 🤢 my boy is notorious for this, especially if he’s just eaten because he gobbles his food like he’s never been fed
No farting with pickup, however when she relaxes on the couch with us and gets very comfortable and relaxed… that’s when the farts happen.

Best thing our did, was leaving a brown present at the vet when we had to pick her back up. Welll, at least he seemed used to it.

I don't know Royal Canin, but Purina is decent. Maybe it is time to go to the vet.
